Big congrats yo the moms who just had their bundles of joy, they will be a source of joy and blessing to your homes Amen. And to the expecting moms God will continue to strengthen and see you through and grant us a safe and supernatural painless delivery.

Am 7weeks plus pregnant and am so glad I found this thread. Please I wanted to ask, I have been taking obron-6 and folic acid since I found out I was pregnant hope that's fine, and also the dosage of folic acid am taking is 5mg hope its fine too? Thanks

I think there's a gape kind of but its not painful and doesn't look like a wound, I don't even know where my vag.na is and recalling that sewing experience makes me cringe. The reason they gave for the 3weeks wait was because they used elastic thread for the sewing.

Went to see my Doc this evening to complain of all symptoms but was told its normal .

But the throwing up is really weighing me down.

Wch 1 s elastic thread? Its d same thread dst s used to suture episiotomy. If d gape u re seeing isnt so wide, then no need to worry. Bt i ll strongly advice u start ur sitz bath ASAP.It ll help d healing process. Hope u were given pain killers?

yep, d folic acid s fine. But u may hv to change d obron6 cos d components may nt gv u all u want, like d iron component, calcium etc.

Please can we all put heads together and do some research on best possible practises (verified answers o, not Mama Nkechi/Tola said so) on ways to avoid Episiotomy. One of my advisors (a doctor) told me it's not always necessary but he felt doctors tend to take the decision to cut quickly.

Any suggestions? For mums who are alone and with their husbands/some help please.

I know about those, (especially Ante Perineal Massage) but it would be nice to share it with the group. Preferably if you did it and it worked for you.

You know I'm the last person to propound a mama tola/mama amaka kind of theory but I feel episiotomy is one of those things that YOU can't really prevent, if a woman has a tight Vjay, & is to deliver a baby with a wide head diameter and broad shoulders, how is the baby supposed to come out of the birth canal..

Can't and won't say your advisor (I love love that he said its not always necessary ) isn't impecable but don't you think he is only stating his opinion ?

Episiotomy is one of those things that is managed on a case by case basis. I dont think drs go in with the notion that "imma destroy somebody's coochie today.. grin

.. They make split second decisions as they go on with a delivery process...

FULL DiSCLOSURE; I won't lie, episiotomy is the ONLY redeeming factor of being a CS candidate, oh em gee!!

Sumtims episiotomy can't b avoided, as much as the doc and midwife tried nt to give me epi for my last baby, I had to tell dem to cut cos he came out as a whopping 4.2kg baby. Most institution don't give epi if there's no need for it, having said dat,all dose exercises too help

Sis, pls start as soon as u can and ensure u do as much as 3-4times per day. Mine broke down rily bad, went back to d hosp for possible repair but was told it wil break down again if they re suture, glad dat after days of sitz bath, it healed perfectly.. hope dis helps... one love

Im in same shoes wid u as regarding cramps on lower abdomen.i learnt here its due to d uterus stretching.as per d vomiting dont worry it shud start easing up as frm 12th week or so.dooh!
may we all carry to term & deliver with ease.
