I read your transcript and in it you said you & sister will finance your study. Soo, I want to know if you send your sister's SOA and yours to get I-20 and Who did you fill on "Person/Entity Paying for Your Trip" on DS-160 form: self/Family?
I'm going on a full scholarship. There must have been a mistake somewhere. Perhaps you read the wrong transcript. Regarding your questions, the person paying for your trip should be whoever your sponsor is. It should tally with the account statement you'll present too as well as what's written on your i20 Hope this helps. |

One thing I have noticed about visa approval is that your chances of getting your visa is greatly enhanced if you are sponsored by your Dad. They frown at anything uncle, sister or aunt. But with God anything is possible and sure so many people have gotten visa by using uncle and aunt as sponsors. |

What really matters is your profile, how well you present yourself and the grace of God. I know countless people on this thread who have had their Visa's approved yet were not sponsored by their biological parents. I also know countless people on this thread whose "Dad" was the sponsor yet were denied visas. Like I previously said, its your profile that matters - did u take any standardized test? (+1) How well can u explain ur choice of school and course? (+1) Can u articulately explain your relationship with your sponsor, sponsor's source of income n reason sponsor is sponsoring you? (+1) That said, even with a well packaged profile, you could get denied (vo's could be funny @ times) but the odds are in your favour. This is where the grace of God comes in cos with prayers, all things are possible. Hope I have convinced u as well as allayed the fears of all those with non biological parents as sponsors that having a non sponsor does not in any way affect your chances of getting a visa? 4 Likes |

Hope I have convinced u as well as allayed the fears of all those with non biological parents as sponsors that having a non sponsor does not in any way affect your chances of getting a visa? indeed you are correct....I had the opportunity to be part of the US embassy facebook online chat chat which was conducted by vice consular Emily at Abuja embassy and she pointed out what they look for during interviews...they want to know about the student, why you choose a particular school, why you choose a particular course, how you choose the school and how you will fund your education. She also added that consular officers are not required to check any documents that they base their decision solely on the interview and they only check for documents when they have doubts in other to determine your eligibility. So you are correct. All we need do is ask for god's grace, have a good profile and answer questions with confidence. Thanks 1 Like |
