DictatorZAR:Why is FW de Klerk still roaming free? He should be responsible for what his government did, no? By the way during apartheid bosses weren't signatory to the Rome Statuette.Neither is Sudan, and you dare arrest him, what are you trying to prove? |

fadhill: Lets be honest the war on Iraq was all about one thing : OIL! Typical of America and the rest of the criminals in the Western world But lets be objective here, no genocide was committed, it was a war between USA and allied forces against Sadam and his loyalists. A couple cases of rape(collateral damage),unjust killings( Collateral damage), victims of stray bullets /aerial bombardments( Collateral damage). Yes, these were all crimes against humanity, especially the way all of Sadam's son's were annihilated ( Ancient war rule). True someone should be held accountable, but that's not for us to call. The people of Iraq already messed that up when they Celebrated upon Sadam's capture and joined forces with the USA and NATO et al. The question is, knowing what Al-Bashir did, should we allow his go and scot free, simply because bush wasn't brought to book? People talking about Bush and Iraq, would do well to note that BARACK OBAMA, DAVID CAMERON and NICOLAS SARKOZY's invasion of Libya wasn't sanctioned, caused ethnic/xenophobic/racial killings by the thousands (affected Nigeria too), and caused a paradigm shift in the destiny of that country. . . Anyone calling for their heads? Na far away Iraq we dey here dey talk. 1 Like |

A sword has 2 edges. People reap what they sow. Omar may deserve this but other leaders must learn a lesson. The west is behind much of this global system to punish those against them rightly or wrongly. |

pkjag: It seems some of you don't read before commenting on posts. During De Klerk's reign SA weren't signatory to the Roman Statuette and even then Mandela and co decided on the TRC to deal with apartheid atrocities. If you look closely at news reports, it was actually not the SA gov who instigated this action but this came from civil society groups in support by human rights groups who went to court for the indictment. The SA gov had nothing to do with this foolish actions. |

RudzSA: since your brain is specifically made for little matters. have you ever ask your dad the reason why after arresting or murdering all these leaders the problem triples, just like in Libya and Iraq. just know it from today that the problems with Africa starts and ends with these white folks. If you don't know, just see it today that arresting a sitting African president in a meeting of sovereign leaders is a big insult to your continent. Please don't take continental insult for restoration. And please don't quote me again. |

Why make such a request of SA knowing that they are currently playing host to the president, bashir? Even if he had commited those crimes, asking SA to arrest him is diplomatically unsavvy. Should SA now have to sacrifice their relationship with this country and its sympatizers and suffer the brunt of mistrust because they have one international criminal in their hand? I think ICC should do the dirty Job themselves. |

doctokwus:Sadly though, the US did this to Noriega of Panama. They went into Panama, arrest a president of a SOVEREIGN nation and jailed him . He is in a US prison in Virginia eating grits and cornmeal. |

panafrican: Dont mind South Africa. They are just looking for attention during AU summit to take attention away from illiterate Zuma speeches, problem with labor unions, rampant unemployment, 30% reduction in Tourist travel to the country and an overly active opposition party breeding down the ruling parties next. Up JUJU! |

seppuku: Your obsession with SA and your mental issues by virtue of being Nigerian are clouding your thinking. Why would you be so concerned about any decline in our economy and problems with our labour issues when Nigeria is in worse situation with Boko Haram et al? This was nothing out of the ordinary in civilized nations. It is a normal legal right and process in any fully fledged democraticy. This was never about Al Bashir but an exercise in strengthening our democracy. Hope you can sleep well seemingly you are busy cramming our tourism stats et al. Goodluck to you! |
