FG Policy: The Foolishness Of Paying Unemployed Nigerians 5000 naira The most absurd Economic policy i have seen since the 20th century i was born to the current 21st century when i'm in my late teens is the decision of Buhari led federal Government of Nigeria to Pay Unemployed Nigerians 5000 Naira per month. Even a student of Elementary comparative Economic is aware that such move will lead to massive inflation because more money will be in circulation while the idle minds sit around and do nothing Hence with few Goods in circulation and Higher demand their will be hike in price SEARCH RESULTS Image result for inflation In economics, inflation is a sustained increase in the general price level of goods and services in an economy over a period of time such Policy in nothing but a Political Gimmick targeted at short term recipe that cannot solve an economic challenge of any Country. In fact Government spending should be more on Capital expenditures like Building more factories and reviving an already existing dilapidated Factories to create more jobs as well as investing more in Manual Agriculture to create more Jobs for the youth if mechanized Agriculture will take more Jobs . the government can also invest in Nigeria Mining Industries we have many mineral resources apart from Petroluem Examples: Sapphire - Kaoline - Gold - Clay - Surpentinite - Asbestos - Amethyst - Kyanite - Graphite (partally investgated) - Silhnite - Mica (Traces) - Aqua marine - Ruby - Rock Crystal - Topaz - Flosper - Tourmaline - Gemstone etc The Government should invest in this areas. Below is the statistic of Unemployed Nigerians according to a 2014 released report Over twenty-two million Nigerians were unemployed in Nigeria in 2014. This was revealed Friday, at the unemployment methodology review forum held at the National Bureau of Statistics in Abuja. The number according to NBS was an accumulation of the number of unemployed Nigerians in the four quarters of the year which represents 31 per cent of the country’s population as against 18.3 per cent according to International Labour Organization’s, ILO standard. Out of 22,620,202 unemployed Nigerians, 4,672,067 million were unemployed in the fourth quarter, 7,027941 million were unemployed in the 3rd quarter and 5,307,375 million was unemployed in the second quarter, while 5,612, 819 million were unemployed in the first quarter of the year under review. A further breakdown of the unemployment statistics was drawn from educational group; age group; gender and place of residence. According to NBS, the figure increased by 21 per cent from 7,078,450 million (10.0%) recorded in the previous year. The findings also showed that 17.9 per cent of the figure was under employed in the country in the year under review. ECONOMIC CALCULATION 22.6 MILLION NIGERIANS ARE UNEMPLOYED when you MULTIPLY by 5000 naira= 113000000000 ( One Hundred and Thirteen Billion Naira ) per month or an Equivalent of 567982070.00 or ( five Hundred and sixty seven Million USA Dollars) Such huge sum of money going down the drain every month is the height of Economic rascality Ifeduba ThankGod T ( A political Analyst writes in from Anambra state ) http://ifedubatochukwu..com/2015/06/fg-policy-foolishness-of-paying.html 1 Like 1 Share |

He is just desperate to share tons of cash amongst his almajiri brothers. Go to school, they won't. Learn a trade? Mbanu! Travel out so they can explore and gain from far lands, over their dead bodies! All they do is wait for Niger Delta cash every month end, so they can share and marry another new wife. How can you grow this economy when all you do is redistribute wealth in the face of glaring structural demands for massive investments? 2 Likes 2 Shares |

All these TANOIDS sef. I tire for una. When he assumed office, u tanoids started barking he fufils all his promises including the 5k he promised poor and unemployed people. Now the policy is being worked on and about to be put in place, you are condemning again. All these mumu economist sef. As a citizen in the UK US and some other parts, you get stipends when u not working, or any other case where it is mandatory for the government to help its citizens. Like a case of divorce, disability, illness..etc. The FG also promised jobs, so apparently as jobs are created, there will be a decline in citizens entitled to the 5k whatever. Writer from ANAMBRA, take a chill pill. This government will not FAIL as u guys are desperately hoping for. 9 Likes |

Mutuwa:its an economical Unviable Policy how can you just give out over 500 million dollars every month or rather over 113 Billion Naira per month.. do you know the type of investment you can use those money for? long term capital investment that can move the Nation forward.. rather than creating Job you are giving out money to me this is not a plicy but more of a political gimmick that must have to stop now because we have passed the era of Politicking we need practical economic plans in place to move Nigeria Forward this policy will merely lead to devastation of Nigeria economy and High Inflation |

TANoids are a gift that keep on giving. You guys are the most confused set of beings to have cropped out of this country. Just last week here, there were threads opened by the same TANoids mocking buhari for not implementing the campaign promise of paying 5k monthly to the poor/unemployed. Now,plans are being made to implement it,they are complaining. Nairalanders, welcome to the world of TANoids. 5 Likes |

Mutuwa: Giving the man a piece of fish every now and then will in the end destroy his destiny. he will be emotionally attached to you. He will see you as his god However, any day you stop giving him fish, he will turn against you. It robs him off creativity and productivity. Government should sponsor an aggressive campaign for food production. Honestly, I think Africans are dumb. We have become lazy minded. We are brain washed by colonialism. Hunger was never our problem until we stopped producing food. We stopped producing our food because we have gone to school and are looking for "job". Shame! |

The writer is very very right. It is better to used such money to provide 1.2 billion naira food for Mr & Mrs Jonathan, to hire private jet amounting to 10 billion naira to fly Deizani Allison-Madueke the petroleum minister around, to budget about 30 million naira to feed two animals in Aso Rock zoo, to approve 9.3 bllion naira to rural cooking stoves among other very important things. |

simpleseyi: we are talking about a government spending 113 Billion Naira per month on current expenditure which contributes absolutely nothing to the economy but just giving stipends to the Unemployed which does not even solve the employment situation .. its a money down the drain and a very good medium to loot Nigeria resources.. Nobody know for sure the Number of Unemployed in Nigeria because of the lack of Credible Burea of statistic |

tochukwuifeduba: You think it is foolishness because either you, your siblings or your parents have job(s) and can afford to feed you and your siblings. What about the unemployed? Should they continue armed robbery and pipeline vandalism? A man who cannot feed his family will go any length to provide food, please let the poor too live. Even if they don't deserve hot dogs and burger, they deserve at least beans and garri. They deserve to live under a roof even if they cannot afford to live in duplexes, they deserve at least a room in face-me-i-face-you. 5,000 naira cannot buy a lunch in Eko Hotel, and this is what the poor will used to feed for a whole month, yet the average man is complaining. Please let the poor live. Live and let other live. 1 Like |

simpleseyi: Hahahahahahahaha! Every unemployed is either mentally or physically lazy. I have no apologies. Before money came, we had trade by barter. There were rich and poor men in those days. You guys should stop this nonsense. When I say the so called education of today is a fraud, I am called names. What is the purpose of education if it cannot make one to be creative and productive? |
