Contradictions Analyzed:bible And Quran. by malvisguy212: 5:48pm On Jun 15, 2015 |
Muslims talk often about the many contradictions in the Bible. The number of contradictions vary depending on whom you are talking to. The principle of non-contradiction has been elevated to the status of an absolute criterion, capable of being applied by human beings in judging the authenticity of God’s word. But the Christian cannot agree that the principle of non- contradiction is given to men as a criterion by which they are to judge God’s word. It is this criterion which the Muslims have imposed upon the discussion of revelation. The Bible is not simply one book compiled by one man as the Muslims claim for their Qur’an, but a compilation of 66 books, written by more than 40 authors, over a period of 1500 years! For that reason Christians have always maintained that the entire Bible shows the imprint of human hands. Evidence of this can be found in the variety of human languages used, the varying styles of writing, the differences in the author’s intellects and temperaments. Thought the muslims claimed the quran is sent down from heaven but there are MANY verses show the imprint of human hand in it. DEFINITION OF INSPIRATION. In 2 Timothy 3:16, we are told that all Scripture is inspired. The word used for inspiration is theopneustos which means“God-breathed,” implying that what was written had its origin in God Himself. In 2Peter 1:21 we read that the writers were“carried along” by God. Thus, God used each writer, including his personality to accomplish a divinely authoritative work, for God cannot inspire error. The Bible must be the invention either of good men or angels, bad men or devils, or of God. However, it was not written by good men, because good men would not tell lies by saying ‘Thus saith the Lord;’ it was not written by bad men because they would not write about doing good duty, while condemning sin,and themselves to hell; thus, it must be written by divine inspiration” HOW DOES GOD INSPIRE HIS WRITERS? How does God inspire the writers? Does He simply move the writers by challenging their heart to reach new heights, much like we find in the works of Shakespeare, find in the works of Shakespeare, which is human literary masterpieces? Or does that which He inspire contain the words of God-along with myths, mistakes and legends, thus creating a book in which portions of the Word of God can be found, along with those of finite and fallible men? Or are the scriptures the infallible Word of God in their entirety? In other words, how, Muslims will ask, is this inspiration carried out? Does God use mechanical dictation, similar to that which we find claimed for the Qur’an, or does He use the writers own minds and experiences? ANSWER: The simple answer is that God’s control was always with them in their writings, such that the Bible is nothing more than “THE WORD OF GOD IN THE WORD OF MEN”. This means that God utilized the culture and conventions of his penman’s ,God controls in His sovereign providence. Thus history must be treated as history, poetry as poetry, hyperbole and metaphor as hyperbole and metaphor, generalization and approximation as what they are, and so forth. We are fully aware that the Christian criteria for revelation is not acceptable to Muslims, as it is in seeming conflict with their own.Yet,by simply measuring the Bible against the‘sent down’ concept which they claim for their Qur’an, Muslims condemn themselves of duplicity, since they demand of the New Testament that which they do not demand of the previous revelations, the Taurat and Zabuur, though both are revered as equally inspired revelations by all Muslims. Muslims believe that Moses WROTE THE TAURAT AND DAVID THE ZABUUR . However, neither claimed to have received their revelations by a means of A' sent down’ transmission. So why insist on such for the New Testament, especially since the document makes no such claim itself? PROPHET WITHOUT PROVED? Left unsaid is the glaring irony that the claim for the sent down revelation for the Qur’an comes from one source alone, the man to which it was supposedly revealed, Muhammad. Yet there are no external witnesses both before or at the time who can corroborate Muhammad’s testimony. Not even miracles are provided to substantiate his claims, nor are there any known documents of such a Qur’an from the century in which it is claimed to have been revealed. What Muslims must understand is that Christians have always maintained that the Word of God, the Bible, was indeed written by men, but that these men were always under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21). Whereas the Qur’an is alleged to be free of any human element, God in the Bible deliberately chose to reveal His Word through individuals who were inspired prophets and apostles, so that His Word would not only b conveyed to humanity correctly, and comprehensively but would be communicated to their understanding and powers of comprehension as well. This the Qur’an CANNOT do if it has no human element, as is generally alleged. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

THE QURAN GIVES AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE: The Qur’an, itself, the highest authority for all Muslims, gives authority to the Bible, assuming its authenticity at least up to the seventh-ninth Centuries. Consider the following Suras: Surah 2:136 points out that there is no difference between the scriptures which preceded and those of the Qur’an, saying, “ …the revelation given to us…and Jesus…we make no difference between one and another of them .” Surah 3:2-3 continues, “Allah…He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus)…as a guide to mankind .” Sura h 4:136 carries this farther by admonishing the Muslims to, “ …Believe… and the scripture which He sent before him .” In Surah 5:47,49,50,52 we find a direct call to Christians to believe in their scriptures: “ …We sent Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him. We sent him the Gospel… Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein, if any do fail to judge by the light of what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel…” Again, in Surah 5:68 we find a similar call: “People of the Book!…Stand fast by the law, the Gospel, and all revelation that hath come to you from YOUR LORD. It is the revelation that has come to thee from THY LORD.” To embolden this idea of the New and Old Testament’s authority we find in Surah 10:94 that Muslims are advised to confer with these scriptures if in doubt about their own, saying: “If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee. The truth had indeed come to thee from thy Lord .” And as if to emphasize this point the advice is repeated in Surah 21:7, stating; “ …the apostles We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration. If ye realize this not, Ask of those who possess the message .” Finally, in Surah 29:46 Muslims are asked not to question the authority of the scriptures of the Christians, saying; “And dispute ye not with the people of the book but say: We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and that which came down to you.” If there is anything in these Suras which is clear,it is that the Quran emphatically endorses the Torah and the Gospel as authentic and authoritative revelations from God. This coincides with what Christians believe, as well. In fact, nowhere is there any warning in the Qur’an that the former scriptures had been corrupted, nor that they were contradictory. If the Qur’an was indeed the final and complete revelation, if it was the seal of all former revelations the Muslims claim, than certainly the author of the Qur’an would have included a warning against that which had been corrupted in the earlier scriptures. But nowhere do we find even a hint that the Bible was contradictory, or indeed that it was corrupted. WHY WILL A FINAL REVELATION NOT GIVE WARNING OF THE CORRUPTION OF THE FORMER REVELATION? 3 Likes 1 Share |

TheShopKeeper:Satan used Muhammad as a pawn and Islam as a tool to attack the people of God. As Muhammad grew in power, he used violence to subdue those that disagreed with him. He denied the Sonship of Jesus, making him an anti-Christ, and denied other key doctrines of Christianity. Muhammad eventually urged his followers to oppress Christians and instituted laws that deny people basic human rights. Today in Muslim countries, Christians are victimized by those laws. Many of them have murdered, executed, and or oppressed for their faith. If a Muslim converts to Christianity, he is under a death sentence for apostatizing. In his last few hours of life, Muhammad asked Allah to curse the Christians. Real Islam is a weapon Satan uses to make war upon God and His people. 6 Likes |

malvisguy212:Ashamed of your SHAMEFUL CLAIMS? NOPE. “And dispute ye not with the people of the book but say: We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and that which came down to you.” What you fail to understand is that Muslims never question that Jesus receive the Gospel (Injeel). He received it like other prophets received theirs before him. But the authors who wrote the Bible weren't around when he was, didn't see him, talked to him after some years thay come to claim that he said some contradicting things. even in modern literature this is not accepted. THIS is why even Christians invalidate some of the books, let alone Muslims 7 Likes 1 Share |

mustymatic:Pls note, Jesus did not receive the Gospel! The Gospel is all about Him and the work of redemption for all, which He came to fulfil. John the author of the Gospel according to John was the closest to Jesus Christ; Matthew was written by Levi the tax-gatherer-another apostle/disciple of Christ. Mark was not one of the twelve but was also a disciple of Jesus Christ. Luke lived at the time of the apostles. (This is a digression from the focus of the thread) 4 Likes 2 Shares |

mustymatic:do you know the meaning of revelation?if Jesus received any gospel as you claimed, where is it?anyway, this is off topics.read how I analyse bible contradiction in the op and read the second post about the quran, provide your defence. The quranic verse you quote say the revelation were sent down, this is not how Moses and the other prophet received there revelation, they were moved by the power of the holy spirit, doesent it sound strange to you that only muhammed received revelation different from other prophet? NONE of them claimed to have received revelation sent down from heaven ONLY muhammed, nobody bear witness. How can we know he was telling the truth? 4 Likes 1 Share |

The O.P must be jehovah witness. Nice1. If only christians knew that when prophet mohammed entered jerusalem he never touched a soul infact he wanted to work with them to form one world religion. But when the crusaders enter mecca they destroyed the whole place. So called christians attacked islam 1st. Religion was used to enslave the black mind, any black man that knws history would always hate christianity. I dislike it when I see my fellow blacks discuss about the two foreign religion, if u actually know what these pple did 1 Like 1 Share |

dboss444:are you a muslims? you are saying different thing here. If muhammed really want to form one world religion as you claimed, then He must be the anti-christ, beside after the Jews and christians reject him, he change the direction of praying to Mecca and wage jihad on the Jews and christians, but this is off topic. 2 Likes |

Contradictions in the Bible are countless, I could list some of em but u still won't reason, Muslims believe in all the messengers and the books revealed to them...and that Muhammad is the final prophet, it doesn't where the original Bible is, it's not my obligation to use it, we have quran now which is the final testament |
Re: Contradictions Analyzed:bible And Quran. by malvisguy212: 10:17pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
mustymatic:you keep on dodging my question. Surah 2:136 Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make NO DISTINCTION BETWEEN ANY OF THEM , and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." This surah claimed, what Allah revealed to muhammed is no different from the other prophet, BUT NONE of this prophets claimed to have received revelation through " sent down from heaven" as muslims claimed for the quran. 1 Like |

mustymatic:Alright as regards the highlighted: 1. The OT and NT were off shoots of the promise made to Abraham and were prophesied ahead of time. How come the 'final testament' is bereft of the faintest jot of reference by these books revealed? And has no reference to the framework- God's promise to Abraham? 2. Since God is not the author of confusion, sir, why was the New Covenant called Everlasting Covenant? especially if there was to be another? 3. Both testaments, Old and New, were ratified by blood. By what was the 'final testament ratified? 4. The last prophet was as Israel/the Church knows them, was John the baptist whose coming was clearly (expressedly) prophesied and his birth as such was attested to by angel Gabriel; mother, father and all Israel testified of his ministry and were witnesses. Whence a 'final prophet' in the books? And why the deafening silence by the books? 5. Most of the prophets and Moses prophesied of Jesus Christ and those gifted with that office today still point to Him. What then was the 'final prophet's' emphasis? 6. All prophets were inspired and they spoke by the Holy Spirit; the Word of the Lord came to them. Why the sudden change and substitution of the Holy Spirit by an angel? 7. If Mohammed had come in the inter-testament period, perhaps some of my questions would be unnecessary. But for one who came about 5+ centuries after and reiterated similar laws after the pattern of the OT's laws (with some differences) after God had clearly said He was going to make a New Covenant, NOT ACCORDING TO THE OLD, and He had already perfected same through Christ, the claims of such an one suggests that God later reversed His own words (Impossible!). How do you explain or clarify this? I gain nothing arguing with you but, on a forum where we have many informed readers/ contributors on both sides who will gain therefrom, answers will be appreciated. Regards 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Here are the differences: Bible is inspired word of God to various Authors. It can be explained to you by the Holy Spirit or Pastor. Koran is the inspired word of God dictated ONLY to Muhammed. It can be explained to you by Imams (no Holy Spirit). Judging from the above deductions, you can see where the problem lies. If a Pastor says, lets go bomb your neighbour... the Holy Spirit will direct Christians. If the Imam says, strap yourselves and bomb your neighbour... (no Holy Spirit) we know what happens. Holy Spirit keeps Christians in Check. Who keeps Muslims in Check? 5 Likes 1 Share |

malvisguy212: Allah commanded the believers to believe in Him and in all His Books and Messengers. We were commanded to believe in the (original) Torah and Injil, but not to implement them. Allah directed His believing servants to believe in what He sent down to them through His Messenger Muhammad and in what was revealed to the previous Prophets in general. Some Prophets Allah mentioned by name, while He did not mention the names of many others. Allah directed the believers to refrain from differentiating between the Prophets and to believe in them all. Al-Bukhari narrated that Abu Hurayrah said, "The People of the Book used to read the Torah in Hebrew and translate it into Arabic for the Muslims. The Messenger of Allah said, ﻥ Do not believe the People of the Book, nor reject what they say. Rather, say, `We believe in Allah and in what was sent down to us.' |

mustymatic:so were is the original torah ,injil ? Allah continuously making reference to this book indicate this books is in circulation during that time, it is impossible for this books to vanish just like that without a copy, don't you think? Now answer the following question and see were it will land you, if you sincerely answer it, you will discovered soo many lies: 1. At what point did the people corrupted the Torah and Injeel, was it before islam, during Muhammad's time of after him? 2. If it was before islam, why would Allah refer Muhammad to something that is corrupted to make confirmation? 3. If it was after Muhamad had died, how was he able to receive the revelation that the Scripture (Torah and Injeel) had been corrupted? 4. The quran confirms that the Scripture was a clear proof in writings. This means there were copies in circulation. How possible all copies vanished without anyone having a copy anywhere? You should by now discover a lie is told. 5. Why would God be so weak as to allow man throw away His words before He would vow to protect the subsequent revelations? Did He learn from experience? I put it to you the Bible is the Torah and Injeel put in one Book. 4 Likes 1 Share |

mustymatic: The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth that Jesus (Isa al Masih) spoke about. The Spirit doesnt force anyone to do anything. The Spirit tells you where NOT to sin, if you still sin, that is your problem. You will face it on judgement day. Not like Islam where you get (Shot or Flogged or Bombed) when you sin. Instant Judgement. Thus you have turned yourself to God by passing Judgement on other men 1 Like 1 Share |

Does Islam not know that if a man refuses to become a Muslim today, he may change his mind tomorrow? Why kill him today because he refused today? Is that a wise action? 1 Like 1 Share |
