. I

I heard you can use the hospital record to do the Nigeria passport.

I'm not sure you're truly pressed for time if not you would have used your temporary BC to get a one year American passport. Thereby, saving you the cost of changing ticket. They must have given you a temp BC if not go and get something from the hospital verifying that you gave birth to that child, make an appointment to the passport agency near you taking everything you needed initially (tkt, fees, forms etc) you will be interviewed and you can explain the whole BC issue they will offer a 1 year passport instead of the 5 years and before the one year is up I'm sure the BC would have come. Then you can renew passport here in Nigeria or if you want to travel too renew it's up to you. I don talk too much.

hello house,

Was at the US embassy yesterday for my visa B2 but that mean black lady refused me...hmm.thought it was a joke when people complain about her.She practically refused everyone that went to her stand except one lions club official..apparently she didn't know how else to refuse her because she kept asking and probing. The woman said she had visited about 10 different countries, she mentioned them.Shes one really an unhappy lady.

Anyway ,was asked what i was going to do in US, i said to deliver my babies (she looked at me abi my tummy),are you married?-yes.what does your husband do?- i told her.do you have any kids yet?-yes two, seeking better medical care.where in the US are you going? -Phoenix,Arizona.what do you do?do you work?- yes mentioned the name of the company but she chose to hear another thing(i corrected her).what do you do for company Bleep?-told her.How much do you earn?-i told her.she says okay and all this while shes typing away.
Have you contacted any doctor?- (its MIHS financial eligibility appointment letter i have with a breakdown of the costs)i am in contact with the financial eligibility specialist that will sign me on the the non residents maternity package on arrival.how much is the bill?-i told her approximately $7000.what is your budget?-i told her.may i see your bank statements?--handed them to her.Are you travelling alone?-yes but my mum will join me to take care of me from Canada, she has a valid b1/b2 visa.Does she live there?-no shes went visiting my sister with my father.Do you have any relatives in the US?-yes i do.my uncle lives in NC,Have you ever traveled out of Nigeria?-yes UAE-dubai /abu dhabi, i see you were refused a UK visa why?..i said bla bla bla...okay. she typed a few things and said unfortunately ma'am i don't think you qualify for the visa but you can re apply again anytime.I asked why?she says unfortunately i cannot tell you here and now but here is a letter.please read it.she handed me that general refusal letter under section 214b on a blue paper...( i may have forgotten one or two questions sha cos she drilled me in a short time)lol.aha she asked when are you due i said September and how long i intended to stay-i said 2 months..

so now my question is where exactly did i miss it and what will prove circumstances have changed as the lady did not tell me if i was ineligible because of no strong ties at home, financial,if am a terrorist, if they suspect i will suddenly decide to abandon my husband and two kids, leave my good job here to start washing plates there...i no sabi. infact when the security asked me to go her stand, seeing how the woman had refused almost 10 people except one or two i should have refused to go there but am like,if God does not allow this despite my truthfulness and honesty then let it be.i summoned up courage and went to the stand.only to be refused?at this rate US embassy dey use us do kalo kalo and serious fund raising.(meanwhile Nigerians can lie for Africa oh!!! so desperately!even some elderly people you don't expect want to run away sadi was shy- still happy i came clean with no web of lies.lol)

So Please advise oh...i will apply one more time but am thinking of using a hospital at NC where my uncle leaves, tell him to get a correct doc appointment and etc.Mayernity bills are too expensive there sha but will try.#incase at first u don't succeed, you can dust it off and try again abi?

just reapply abeg. I am sure your bank statements are okay too?- that mean black lady denied me too first time when I was 100% sure everything was right, when I reapplied I was even thinking they will focus on the denial and ask me stupid questions about it, they didn't even do as if I was denied before, Hiss ! all the best

Good morning NLERS. A big thank you to all the people that contributed a lot of useful information on this thread. I learnt a lot and I was able to prepare better (special thank you to Phema!) My family applied for US visa together and we were all granted ( we have travel history to the UK for the past 10 yrs). In my application I stated that I was going for vacation and childbirth and also when I was interviewed (was obviously pregnant), but I saw I was given a B1/B2 visa like the rest of my family. Is that going to be a problem for me at the POE? Do I need to send an email notifying the embassy before I leave Nigeria for the US? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you

well...will reapply and make a little modifications here and there.Save up one more month, use a doctors appointment from NC,use my uncle as primary contact instead of using a rented accommodation somewhere else...maybe that will be the change in circumstances cos i cant think of anything out of place now really.this one na test of faith or what will i call it?its well...

Nope. You don't need to notify the embassy since you already stated you will be going for childbirth.

I wish I had discovered this thread before applying for my US Visa and maybe I would not have been refused. But knowing all these I know now, I am raring to go.

I read the entire 401 pages of the first part and all 149 pages of Part 2.

Looking forward to sharing my testimony soon

Hi Xyzabcuo, So sorry about the refusal. From my perspective, you did nothing wrong and I suggest you re-apply immediately. However I will let the vets in the house give professional advice.

One question from me though, kindly permit me to ask, How did the VO know you were refused a UK visa in the past?

I ended up sending hard copies to my doctor when I couldn't find a fax machine. A colleague was travelling and I made copies of what I hospital gave me and packaged it for him to mail for me when he got to the US.

No Probs.

The remember firstly the VO has your passport in her hands and she flips through..also a friend said there is a database that is shared among different embassies mostly US/UK/Schengen. so they have the data of applicants even before they come. Its not even a good idea to try telling any lies about your past travel history even if you were refused a UK/schengen visa on an expired passport you did not use for application..

I may be wrong but i stand to be corrected..

@akindolz:of course there's usually a stamp on the passport after a UK visa is not given..that is why if the VO flips through she can see it.same thing we are saying...the other part of embassies sharing a global database ,i'm not so sure-someone said not me (just sharing).experts can say if its true or not

Good morning house...

Thank you all for the advise and all especially when I was curious as to the letter of change of intent.

I am now in the US and below is my story:

Firstly, I sent in the letter "change of travel plans" since my visa was granted for vacation in February... So I informed the embassy that I was now preggies and would be embarking on the vacation with my Hubby but would stay back to have my baby.

I got the generic reply that my visa allows for medicals but was advised to get a doctor, pay all my bills and get evidence of payments. This reply came in the morning of my trip.

Point of Entry was JFK, the queue was long but I was taken forward cos I'm quite heavy. I came in with Hubby so he answered all 4 questions we were asked :

Where are u coming from? Nigeria.
Have you been to Liberia, Sierra Leone, etc in the last one month? No.
Purpose of trip? Vacation and my wife would stay back to have our baby.
How are you paying for that? Cash.

pls I sent you a PM

Please I need advise o. I'm presently in the U.S. now. When I applied for my medical visa, I stated that I'll be using Maricopa hospital in Arizona but I'm now in Maryland. My husband wants to be here for the birth of our baby by the end of the month. He went for the interview this morning and was denied based on the fact that he told them I'm in Maryland. The agent that interviewed him said I told them I was going to Arizona not Maryland. He also said that my husband should have come with a copy of my passport page. I want him to reapply again immediately. Please any suggestions on what to do? Thanks

When UK denies you, they stamp the refusal at the back of your passport, unlike US that returns the passport to you

Hubby should have gone with your passport biodata page, visa page and the entry stamp in your passport.
He should reapply with those documents. Meanwhile, isn't it possible you are going to birth in Phoenix and chilling in Maryland to save on cost? He can always come up with a good defence about that.

Everyone who enters an airport, including babies, needs to show some form of ID, but while a government-issued photo ID is required of adults, often a birth certificate will do just fine for infants and children when traveling domestically. For a journey outside the country, however, each passenger, regardless of age, must possess a valid passport. Make sure your infant has the proper ID to board the plane before you reach the airport, or your trip might be cut drastically short. Like I earlier mentioned your U.S citizen baby requires a US passport to
Are you saying the US baby cannot use naija passport to travel outside the US

Another thing you could do is if you have someone in the US scan and send via email to the person and the person could fax to the ob/gyn.
This idea just popped into my head. Could work
