Don't know about now because the naira dropped recently, so cant really say whichbis stronger. But what I think the Ghanians did was just redominate their currency and removed 3 zeros from the old one. But the funny thing is that most Ghanians still call the value of the old one while using the new notes. E.g 100cedis (N10,000 equivalent or so) is still being called 1,000,000cedis by a large percentage of the populace today.

For example, Japan's economy is regarded as one of the world's strongest, and yet a single Japanese yen exchanges for considerably less than US$1. On the other hand, Cyprus' economy is considerably smaller than the U.S. economy, but Cyprus' currency, which is the pound, exchanges for about twice as much as the U.S. dollar.

The fact of the matter is that looking at a currency's worth relative to that of another currency at a static point in time is meaningless; the best way to judge a currency's worth is to watch it in relation to other currencies over time. Supply and demand, inflation and other economic factors will cause changes to a currency's relative worth, and it is this change in value that can be used to evaluate worth.

The Cedi was redenominated that is why it looks stronger but it is not. Ghana's economy cannot sustain a stronger cedi because it mostly depend on imports.

NIGERIA

The economy has enjoyed sustained economic growth for a decade, with annual real GDP increasing by around 7%; it was 6.3% in 2014. The non-oil sector has been the main driver of growth, with services contributing about 57%, while manufacturing and agriculture, respectively contributed about 9% and 21%. The economy is thus diversifying and is becoming more services-oriented, in particular through retail and wholesale trade, real estate, information and communication.

Alright, some few points.
1 Ghana is not listed as part of the HIPC
2 The inflation of ghana is now at 16%
3 Growth forecast 3-4% similar to Nigeria.
4 Smallet size of economy compared to Nigeria.

Based off this, Nigeria definitely has a better economy. However, this is nothing to be proud of as we aren't looking that healthy either.
