Bros you're right and its quite sad. Africans shall always remain 100 steps behind the rest of the world it seem. Cameroon has made it out the group stage though, at least that's a plus for Africa something to celebrate.

Football is computerised these days. It involves a lot of programming. A lot of preparation. Coaches and players watch tapes of other players in addition to detailed preps. One question.... do you think our coach has prepared for penalty kicks? Do our players know the weak points of the USA goal keeper? LOL.
African players have a long way to go guys.

Modern football is leaving Africa behind.

What's wrong with naija keeper always going backward instead of rushing out; that was how she allowed Australia scored the second goal.

Nigeria is one country I see that do not use those factors when selecting players. Our players tend to be small. Look at Cameroun for example - big, sturdy players.

That is because we place a lot of emphasis on skill, or more appropriately flair over other technical abilities. The only Nigerian team that had the qualities you talk of all over the pitch was Westerhof's team.

Those of us watching in the U.S., Did you watch the pre-game analysis?

Some guy was complaining about how Nigeria lacks skilled players because of our anti-lesbian laws. We pretty much kicked out lesbians from the team. Not sure how true that is.

I love Oshoala and I mean it!! kiss
I read some of their analysis on line they are predicting 3.1 in favour of u.s they are so sure DAT dey will win..If nig.wins eh their wings will come down like wet duck.....but its still an IF #optimistic #fingers crossed #go falcons.

Spot on. I love it when people read the game. Some players are not skilful but they have got some physical attributes to make up for that. See Andy Caroll for instance. We do not have that kind of player. Like you rightly mentioned, we had Uche, Eguavoen, etc. They were big lads. I remember we also had Mercy Akide. She tends to fit that bill for the female teams. Asisat is tall and hopefully, she will use her height to her advantage with time.

Seems like Precious Dede doesn't feel secure so she hops around 'the box' to make saves.

My observation though.
