Bran/Hodor and the Reeds vs. the wights? Sorry, that doesn't count as a "battle" IMO. I'm talking in terms of opposing armies.

Lol. I was talking about the battle at the wall. Between wildling and the watch

Tyrion can't rule a Kingdom. His stature alone doesn't demand respect which is a huge part of being a king. People still think rubbing a dwarfs head is good luck and a dwarfs c0ck is good luck. No one will respect a dwarf king.

I think this is just your opinion. In Westeros, royalty and nobility has little to do with physical stature.

Tyrion has already served as Hand of the King in lieu of his father, and while he was there he successfully kept both the King AND the Queen Mother in line, and made his man, Bronn, captain of the Gold Cloaks; all that was left to Jeoffery and Cersei was the King's Guard. And to that impressive CV, also add sending Myrcella to Dorne (clipping Cersei's wings and appeasing the Dornish in one stroke!), strengthening the city's defences, rallying the patch-work force left to him and successfully holding King's Landing against Stannis Baratheon until aid arrived from Highgarden. Oh, and did I forget, he even ORDERED a king to the battlefield!

Until Tywin Lannister made his triumphant entry back to the city, Tyrion was effectively ruling - and he didn't need anyone's respect to do it.

Oh, ok. Someone mentioned that already, but I think it was the penultimate episode and not the finale.

Seems you one of the late bloomers, Tg. The two girls both lost their direwolfs way back in season 1.

Did they? I think I can remember them chasing Arya's direwolf away cos of Joeffery.

I guess that's what happens when you have plenty time in-between seasons.

I may need to re-watch from the beginning.

No she took off her rings because she wanted to hide her identity. More punishment for a queen than a mere peasant girl. Thinking those approaching her may be enemies. But i think they turned out to be friends who adore her.
just when you think it is all over and all hope is gone then then recognition and praise comes from nowhere

Well...we shall see.

This House of Baratheon guy. Lol. There were no favorites for me during that battle. Neither Stannis nor Bolton deserve Winterfell. You better move to House Baelish, while sitting on the iron throne might be beyond him he will always continue to rise and find relevance no matter the situation. The only play that will see House Baelish knocked out is if the white walkers conquer all of Westeros.

This is the best theory. If common to hide your identity when captured especially if you are from high born. Tyrion and Jorah hid their identities from the slave merchants.

Also, I won't bet on them being friendlies
whoever has the time and energy to waste circling a captive singing I will bet my last card they are celebrating a queen and not a captive.

I'm really rooting for Stannis Baratheon to still be alive, strangely I'm a fan. Or will a knight finish off a person he/she didn't get injured?

Snow is a goner! Remember he was told "you re a good man, and that's gonna get us all killed" by his rival. Nice plot to get him out! Cry all u want, the writer of GOT don't give a sh*t!

Sansa and Theon is most likely headed for the Walls, cos that's the safest place

Poor Arya! She clearly wasn't ready.

We should expect plenty of killings in season 6 though. Lannisters are gonna be at the very heart of that!

Remember Sam said "I've known Jon Snow for many years, He always comes back'. Jon Snow will come back.

I assume you mean wights since you need a white walker to become a white walker (from what we know). It's not okay for Jon to be a wight because they have no personality and only do WW bidding. Wight Jon snow is as good as dead Jon snow.

You just saw the white walkers in battle, you do not know whether they have personalities or not, the only thing we know about them is that
1. They're the undead
2. They shatter steel
3. Vulnerable to Dragon glass and valyrian steel
4. The Generals have the ability to raise the dead

The Generals are different from the normal undead we see, the Generals have something akin to flesh while the rest are just zombies

The white walker was giving him that look most likely because of his sword and the fact that he killed one of the generals.

Also, it is common for important people to hide their identity from slavers or enemies. Tyrion and Jorah did the same

Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by Aida13: 4:06pm On Jun 17, 2015
It's getting to be a vicious cycle with this Jon Snow issue.. Today I absolutely believe he is dead, then tomorrow I read something that makes me think he'll be back... But yesterday I thought for sure he can't be gone... Lol I hate the writers for leaving this ambiguous cliffhanger.

So when I saw this I had a sliver of hope...
An interviewer asks Kit Harrington that if he isn't going to be in season 6...why did his contract last year show he's one of the cast receiving a raise for season 6 with option of a season seven??

Lol.. I think they WANT us to believe Jon is dead for now. It makes the stabbing more authentic and the pain of his death more heart-rending.

So they wanted the effect much like how we felt when we knew Robb Stark, his mother, wife and child were killed at the Red Wedding. So the surprise of seeing Jon in the next season with be extra special...

OK ok I'm grasping at straws here but still... Read the article for yourself and decide. I'm done with guesswork. I'll just wait out the one year and discover if there are any more heroic type characters to root for. The imp Tyrion bores me, Mother of Dragons bores me, so does Arya and Cersei and EVERYONE ELSE ON THE SHOW except Jon Snow and he's gone boo hoo...

"I was talking to Dan Weiss and he said Jon is really dead. But George R.R. Martin left open the possibility the character might not be dead in the books. And then that cast salary contract story came out last year and it had your name among those receiving raises for season six and an option on a seventh. So let me ask you: Is Jon really dead?"

And how will m'lord fall?Make no mistake,Everyone knows he is selfish, ambitious and not trustworthy, but still they use him.He is a master schemer. Most Noble Families do not see him as a threat whatsoever because of his humble beginnings. We all know he can NEVER be King but Hand of the King is very possible. As for slitting his throat, goodluck with that.

Spot on!

I couldn't have said it any better. If height were to be considered, why even make him the hand of a king to start with? Does the hand of the king not rule when the king is away?

Seventh son you mean.

I've stopped wondering if he'l be present in season 6 or not. Its not the first time they've had my fave character in the show killed and I wished they didn't.

The episode was an hour long. Showing everything won't make sense. They used the time to show sansa escaping which is better than watching an enemy win in battle. Also, they had to show Cersei's walk of shame.

Do you really want to watch the enemy win in battle? I know I don't want to

Cercei's walk of atonement was damn long to watch, I would have preferred they cut that short and shown that battle instead, doesn't matter to me if its the enemies battle.

This battle would have been epic too but then again, its the director's choice.

The episode got its named from that walk, Mother's Mercy. They spent about $200,000 on that walk alone, can't blame them for milking it for all it was worth.

So, the shadow baby with the face of stannis was a coincidence? The one is undeniable. And don't you think it is kind of a stretch for 3 coincidences in a row to happen? snow melted, jeoffrey died, Renly died.

Also, her sacrifice didn't fail her, her visions like all other visions in fiction were misinterpreted. I could spill fan theory for you but am not a huge fan.

Her sacrifice didn't fail her? With everything that befell stannis? What then would you say happened?

Am not disputing the fact that she's a witch but sometimes, their vision are seen as true cuz they coincides with what should have happened just like the death of joffery and robb.

Even though I was expecting Jon's exit (thanks to the books) I thought he still had more time thanks to him being such a well loved character. But they needed a big 'kill' to justify season 5 and they chose Jon as the scape goat grin

Sam Tarly would have been so dead. They'd have used him for target practice grin lol they'd definitely have killed him if he was there. It's normal to kill off the supporter(s) of an enemy to avoid repercussions or loose ends.

I'm still hoping they bring Jon back because seriously we have a lot of questions we need to ask about his character. Who was his mother and real father if not Ned Stark? Why was Melisandre so interested in him etc

The big kill should have been stannis dammit grin

No more talking about jon, am done here lool

Goodluck to sam being a maester, thought he would. And that scene could even be the last we see of him.
