Wardrobe Allowance: Ben Bruce Mocking Nigerian Workers — Osun Govt by erunz(m): 9:20pm On Jun 17, 2015
The Osun state government has described as ‘mockery’ the gesture of Senator Ben Murray Bruce to donate his wardrobe allowance to the public workers in the state who have not been paid their salaries for more than seven months.

Semiu Okanlawon , the Director Bureau of Communication and Strategy, office of the governor, Rauf Aregbesola in his reaction to the gesture, questioned the choice of the All Progressives Congress, APC-ruled state by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP senator.

Read his reactions below:

My attention has been drawn to a tweet by a member of Upper chamber of the National Assembly Senator Ben Murray Bruce of the Peoples Democratic Party from Bayelsa saying he will not reject the alleged hefty pay for members of the National Assembly but collect it and donate to Osun workers.

It is saddening and tragic that Mr. Murray Bruce whom many had accorded a lot of respect is too early in the day joining the fray of politicisation and trivialising the salary issue affecting more than half of the stars of the federation in this ridiculous manner.

While Nigerians are in hot debate over the alleged jumbo pay and the mood of the country Murray Bruce seems to have turned the plight of Nigerian workers to a thing of an entertainment.

Of all the states in the federation who are battling to pay salaries as a result of the precarious economic situation his party the PDP threw Nigeria into why is it that it is Osun he wants to take his pay to? This is certainly playing to the gallery and nothing but a mockery in the faces of Nigerian workers and not only of Osun extraction. It is not only wicked but ungodly to play politics with the suffering of the people.

If the Senator’s conscience tells him his pay is too high especially in the face of the prevailing economic predicament of Nigeria the most honourable thing to do is to lead a protest for reduction and not a self serving philanthropy only in the direction of Osun workers.

Semiu Okanlawon
Director Bureau of Communication and Strategy
Office of the Governor Osogbo

Sharrrp there joor lf your idiotic boss AregeRascal the king of debt had done the needful ben bruce would not have ‘embrassed' the workers by donating his wardrope allowance.

All of you in the state of osun should be kneeling down and kissing the feets of ben bruce and kashmu for reliving the hunger that wants to kill you all not minding the fact that it is an APC state

NLC, Osun chapter, requested assistance for their workers and Ben Bruce is providing it. Simple!

I blame Aregbesola for failing to pay his workers. If he had lived up to his responsibilities, Ben Bruce wouldn't be "mocking" anyone in Osun state as alleged.

The statement dey pain dem ghan! ghan! o ekwe. Sample ekwe!.. This reminds me of the lyrics from the Warri music maestro called Ekwe..

To the post, I think this Okanlawon of a man should hide his head in shame. If his govt, had done the needful, despite the boisterous posture of Aregbesola, nobody would have had the opportunity to shine on the predicament being faced by the workers of Osun.. This is the beauty of participatory democracy and the event like this is what PDP must maximize to capture the state next year.

Oga spokesman why not go and stand on the road and stop Buruji Kashamu's trucks of rice from coming into Osun state and see how the workers will tear you to shred....you and your boss have no shame, rather you are trying to curse Ben Murray Bruce for his kind gesture as well.

AreGbese is mocking his workers more by owing 7 months salary after-

- spending N1 billion to repaint Osogbo terminus for railways revived by Jonathan.
- spending N 8 billion on phone repair shop.
- spending multi billions on a phantom airport.
- scamming people with Opon Imo aka Opon Ofo plus billions spent on it.
- chopping N18.6 billion in his state house

west, this is a wake up call. do not rely on the government so much.

guess why the igbos are not too disturbed during crisis such as this is because, they do not rely on the government so much.

politics is like a curse in Nigeria. any zone that over indulges in it become even more impoverished, the north for example, even after been the highest people to produce presidents, they are still the most backward of the entire region

let us all learn not to hope and rely on the government, because the bitter truth is that they dont care about us

think I have a simple way of cutting down the cost of this wardrobe allowance. Just employ 12 Taylors 2 each from each geopolitical zone. Make two uniforms for each member, one as official and other ceremonial. Red for Senate nd green for reps. If possible give them ranks according to position occupied and numbers of years of services
