They will apply for standard visa which covers all other types of visas including family visa.

Your fiancé can sponsor them if he can comfortably afford it else they have to sponsor themselves and proof to the ECO that they have the money for the trip.

Thanks what are the requirements and what documents do we need to provide.

Hi everyone!
Good work here.
I have sort of become a UK visa expert thanks to you guys.
Justwise! Welledone! I remember how kind you were to me last year.
Now I usually feel like a guru when I help people out lol.. kiss

Just a few questions based on what I noticed when I helped my boss apply last week.
What's with this teleperformance new 18k payment for submitting at Ikeja?
This people think say 18k easy like that for some paltry emails (about 4 or 5 in total) from teleperformance basically telling him the progress of his application.
I mean it was cool and all to know what's up with the visa application but was it worth 18k? Coz I know they also used to send emails before so what's new?
We tried using VI but all the dates for June except one was booked and his travel date was in June so we had to hurry.
Appointment booking for Ikeja was pretty easy sha. Though Ikeja self was jam packedon the submission date.

Secondly, My boss submitted last week Monday and got a mail that it had been assessed yesterday(Monday) and a mail for collection today?
First time traveller. Isn't that a bit fast? Just a week. I pray it's not a rejection oh. pls tell me your experiences.

Thanks guys!

Finally! Somebody in the same sea as me! i've been struggling to find a date in VI and mine is not even cos i'm dodging the 18k (although I am), I just can't go to Ikeja during the week because of work. So VI is my only option. I found a date but it's like end of month, and now i'm worried my passport wont get back to me in time because I want to travel end of July!!

Since you have US visa already then no problem.

UK visa application is done online now, payment is also done online after completing the form.

You will be given an appointment date after payment.

It will be good to include a copy of your confirmed ticket to the US in the application.

Good day people. Can someone please clarify what the below statement means?! Thanks in advance.

During the qualifying period you should generally aim to not be outside the UK for more than 90 days during the final 12-month period and no more than 180 days in any consecutive 12-month period prior to application.

Hello house I am new here.
I would kindly like your opinion and advice with regards to ILR settlement in the UK.
I first arrived the UK in 2006 on a diplomatic dependent visa which expired in early 2012. I then had to go back home and apply for a tier 4 student visa in order to finish my undergraduate degree which was almost done (but my diplomatic visa expired before then). The tier 4 visa expired in August 2012 so I returned back home. I came back to UK on a visit visa towards the end of October to celebrate my graduation. I then returned back home Dec 2012 and applied for my masters and came back to the UK Feb 2013. The masters expired at the end of October 2014. I went back home and returned to UK near the end of November 2014 for my masters graduation. I have since returned back home end of April 2015.

I am aiming to apply for a PhD to commence sept 2015. My question is will I be liable for an ILR come 2016 given these dates? Thanks in advance and sorry for this long essay.

As far as I know, I haven't spent 6 months on a single trip out of the UK.

I do not think that your residence in the UK will count in establishing ILR.
But why not submit the forms (download from UKGov website) and see?

Don't stay outside the UK for more than 90days during the last year before your residency application....if you are applying for ILR it means the 10th years (if you are using student route) you should not travel out of the UK and stay more than 3 months

Technically your count towards ILR started in 2012 when you got tier 4 student visa and from 2012 to 2016 is not 10 yrs, so basically you haven't met the requirement yet.

Capital NO!

I won't even stress myself to explain how the "10yrs continuous residency for ILR works". It goes beyond "not staying outside the UK for 6 months in a 12months period".

The fact that you've included the visit visa alone makes your case dead on arrival. Visit visas do not count towards ILR

His count would technically have started in 2006 with his diplomatic dependent visa if he had renewed subsequent visas successfully without any breaks in between.

For example, getting a 4years tier 4 visa in January 2010, waiting for it to expire in january 2014 (maybe the holder returned to nigeria) and then applying for another tier 4 visa say two months later (say march 2014)has "broken" the continuous residency chain required for ILR. So if such person is looking at ILR, the count starts again from March 2014.

Hello house,

Thanks for all the very useful comments and advice. I have been a silent follower and I want to say well done to all those who have been contributing.
I made my UK visa application on Monday 15 June 2015 at Abuja and I got this email this morning just a day after I received a mail from UKVI saying they had received and are processing my visa application.

Dear XX XXXXXX,

UK Visas & Immigration has now assessed your UK visa application and made a decision. Your documents and
the decision will be sent back to the either the UK Visa Application Centre where you applied, where we will
contact you by email over the next few days to collect them, or if you are using the courier return service, will
be sent directly back to the address you provided.
Please note that Teleperformance does not know the outcome of the assessment and has played no role in the
decision-making process.

Kind regards,

Teleperformance
UK Visas & Immigration

My question is this:
Has any one had their visa processed so fast? If yes, what should I expect.

Diplomatic visa has restrictions which includes applying for British residency. Do a search on that for more info.

Hello House, my friend's visa was denied yesterday (we are supposed to travel together thus my concern). Their reason was that she has 5 dependents hence, she cannot afford the trip/vacation on her salary. They also stated that she is not entitled to AR or appeal.

The problem is that she is single without any kids and she did not state in her application that she has any dependents. I suspect that the VO used someone's information for her, as i really can not phantom how they arrived at this conclusion that she has 5 dependents shocked.

She is about to talk to an immigration lawyer who she says can help (i'm pessimistic) . But, can anything really be done? I mean they stated that she is not entitled to AR or appeal. Can she make a case based on the fact that the information attributed to her/rationale for the denial is false/flawed.

Uncle Justwise, Oga Ralph, Prof.Worry and our able contributors......your thoughts will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Bosses on here, I am really happy to be a member of this forum, it has really helped me, my family and friends so much..... However, My Siser wants to travel to the UK during Sales period to buy clothing and she wanted to apply next month, I asked her to send me her documents and bank statement so as to check if she has any chances of getting the visa through the knowledge gathered from here. Upon receipt of the documents I realized that she doesn't have a tax clearance and but her account is running so perfectly well.... I gave the statement of account to a friend of mine who works at the firs office to evaluate her monthly income and My friend said from the statement of account, her monthly income is between 70-80k and she has to pay about 40k+ for the personal income tax clearance certificate.... I called her to explain to her to keep running her account for the next 3months so as to help increase her monthly income to like 100k+ but she doesnt want to miss the Sales period so as to get cheaper things. My questions are -

1. Can her hubby's friend Sponsor her for the trip? He sponsored her to Dubai twice.

2. Can she get the Uk Visa with 80k monthly income without Sponsor

3.If YES to 1, Will she be needing a tax certificate to support the application even if someone is sponsoring her.

salute to my bosses in advance for your contributions. thanks

Thanks for the info.

I have been trying to attach a home office pdf document released in may 2015 that will give you a clear insight on what your chances are but I keep getting an error message.

It gives various examples where continuous residency may or may not have been broken and also examples where diplomatic visas can be used towards long residency.

You can drop your email add here if you wish and I will email it to you or you could do a google search and maybe you will find it.

There's another caveat to the long residency rule. During the entire 10years, you must not have spent a total of 18months outside the UK. You need to read the document to find out more.

Hi Justwise,

Greetings and many thanks for your contributions. I also submitted at Teleperformance in Abuja on Monday and got a mail as @cliffogan1.

I am a bit anxious knowing the outcome of the decision. It was truly made fast and it got me thinking:

1. if granted would it not take a while to print the visa?

2. why do they say 'the decision' and 'my documents'?

I applied for General Visitor Visa to attend my friend's graduation at UCL. All necessary documents have been submitted although I could only submit a scanned copy of the invitation letter from the school instead of the original. However I submitted every other document as stated in the UK supporting document checklist. I have a valid US visa currently on the passport and three other expired ones.

I am still anxious, please what do you think? honestly.

THank you

3. If she is running a registered business then yes she will need one.
