thank God you mentioned Tim Howard in the mix, do you remember few seasons ago when united defence was shitty, how many goals did Howard concede that time if not for Ruud Van N who kept on scoring on the other side to keep united afloat. The whole team blamed him Howard but I remember his response vividly. He said "we're 11 players on the pitch, the ball passes 10players, how is it that it's only one person to stop the ball".

I'll say it again, once your back line is shitty, there is nothing a keeper will do

isn't Manuel Neuer a good keeper? How come he conceded 3 goals in the hands of barca in first leg UCL. Imagine what Merci did to Boateng then faced the keeper 1 on 1. What else do you expect the keeper to do. The keeper will be helpless.


Bottom line, if the defence is good there will be less "shots on target" for the keeper to deal with in a match. Then imagine when the defence sleeps then you have 20 shots on target. Tell me how that keeper wouldn't concede 5 goals no matter his quality
