@masperano I will like to know if graduate research scholarship from your school includes OSHC, if not how much did you pay. cc: futureDon, aduktus. |

pingpong15: I mean jobs in banks, or other financial institutions. But if you are a single guy with no kids, and no intention of furtherinf your education in the next 2 yrs, then it is worth the shot. |

FutureDon: Hahaha! During my training, a question came up on the screen... "So you got an email from someone claiming to be a director in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, asking you forward some company details to him as there is a business agreement he wants both party to have..." Of which everyone for the room know sey na Naija I come from.... Dem no born dem well make dem talk hehehehe....everybody just acted like nothing happened. But we could all sense the elephant in the room. Same thing as when i was in a taxi one day, and the oap told a joke about an email he got from a Nigerian prince. I just carry my face go one side lol 1 Like |

olahim: Graduate research scholarships are of many types and sources but most do NOT include OSHC! The amount to pay depends on whether it is a single or couple or family (husband+wife+1 baby or more) applicant. Amount to pay also depends on the school and the insurance company involved. For family as example, 2015 cost is abt $13,000 while single is around $3000 and couple $7000 for Medibank. Well, 60% increment occurred in 2015; hence, the high cost! |

olahim : aduktus said it all, most graduate research scholarships do not come with OSHC. Sometimes, it's cheaper to get an insurance with Bupa other than what the University has suggested. |

I paid way less for a family of five. I used BUPA and paid $4475. Medibank is just too pricey. aduktus: |

As regards to OSHC tnz, these are the comparable annual price (in june, 2015) i got online for single: AHM - $407, medibank - $510, Bupa - $534, Allianz - $553. the doctorate research program am embarking on will last for 3 yrs, i want to believe that my OSHC price will be times 3 of any of the above fee. please house, i need more elaboration on this. read more on https://www.oshc-compare.com.au/oshc/ |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by aduktus(m): 12:17pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
lighternote: Is this quoted amount for a year or two? My quoted medibank amount will cover the entire period of PhD program which is usually 4yrs plus. $13000 will normally cover 4.8 yrs. You may want to recalculate now and lets see if BUPA is cheaper! It will be awesome if it is cheaper. |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by aduktus(m): 12:25pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
olahim: Normally you are expected to finish within three years as your scholarships wont go beyond this but the normal max period for full time is 4 years and this should be stated in your offer letter. Visa will be granted few more months beyond this in case you need little more time . So, here is the break down; 4 years from school+ few months from embassy (say 8 months) = 4.8 yrs. Normally, your OSHC must cover this entire period, no negotiation! 1 Like |

akinnawou:If ur English test is competent, meaning no band is less than 6.0 if it is ielts and it'll be within 3 yrs of validity as at the time u will get an invite...don't bother. However, u need to get done with EA and check if ur nominated occupation is on csol and u have a region that will show u love..that gives u 10points. That's it! But I think ur relative must be living in a region that will nominate u..I'm not sure u can get more than ten points from within... it appears u are stuck at 55...just redo the test. Another way...may be student visa. |

Hello house so I did my medicals on Wednesday and submitted my application on thursday. I got an email from Dr Fatayi Williams that my medicals has been submitted to Global health sydney and I should follow up d submission. My question is how do follow up and secondly how will I be notified of my visa decision? The whole thing seems disjointed(no website to monitor the progress of ur visa application). |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Ifexsco: 6:36pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
I used my transcript which I had since 2008,It is an original though, got it whn my sch stil sends transcripts to companies.I didn't even have to certify it cos u sent it hardcopy to EA.my take is,apply with your certified student copy but explain the suitation to them(dat u can't be givenan orignal by ur sch). My take though...certifying docs makes dem seem a little more authentic. chuckdee13: |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 6:52pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
chuckdee13:What's d difference? I used a staffer at another university to pick up my B.Sc transcript and will use him again for Masters'. ACS accepted it even though the guy's name and university address were repeated on each page and a warning that only the university has it and can use it. I don't know what EA accepts...and I will definitely use the same copies for DIBP. |
