His mind flashed back to the short encounter he had with Collins inside the ICU. He remembered the strange act of Collins where he threw a small sized book at the lady just before they fled the building.
"I'll be back in a jiffy." Mark said as he walked up to Collins.

Mark checked his wristwatch for the 100th time in the last
one minute as he tried to unplug the life support device
from the patients or unplug the device from its power
source. None of which seemed to be working as he wasn't
conversant with machines used in the medical field.
"Mark, you have twenty five seconds." A familiar voice
said.
"I need to save these two patients." Mark replied. This
time, he was covered in sweats. The thought of having
twenty five seonds left to save the lives of two sick
patients was disturbing. Also, saving the lives of the two
patients means saving his own life two. But in every
situation, there is a solution. Which is, he could ignore the
twenty five seconds and leave the two patients, meaning
the patients will die when the bomb detonates and he if
lucky would be saved, but if he spends a little above
twenty five seconds trying to exit the building, he is likely
to suffer the same fate.
"What about these?" Mark asked pointing to the two
lifeless patients.
"There is nothing you can do about them. Wheel them out,
they are going to die, cos the life saver would be
unplugged. So, you are not really saving their lives. We
have fifteen seconds left. We could be out if five seconds
if we took the fire escape."
"Fine, lets get out." Mark said leading the way out.
Collins took a last look at the patients, particularly, the
female one and threw a small book at her.

Some people are of the opinion that Daniel should claim Chris.
My opinion on that is this:
Daniel doesn't have any moral right to try and claim chris now, considering what happened in the past.
But legally its possible. But the kid has the final say.
If he decided to stay with his mum, no problem.
He left both mum and child at a delicate time and now that he knows that he has no heir, he wants to claim the child that he abandoned.

Tina tried as a mum but its always good if he had told Chris about his dad when chris came of age and when he started asking questions.


As a family counselor in this situation, I'd advice a round table discussion between Daniel, Chris and Tina.
Daniel should give his excuse, in as much as Daniel has the right to claim Chris, Tina deserves the right of asking of explanation from Daniel for his disappearance.

Also, about the issue of Mark and his wife Kim.

I'm of the opinion that Kim shouldn't have come to Nigeria.

As a military or para-military officer, your family members can't be involved with your operations anyhow.
Its like a soldier posted to afghanistan and then his wife has trust issues the decides to visit her husband.
Will that make the soldier concentrate more on the job on ground?
What of if the soldier is in the war front, will he leave?
Also, considering the fact that Kim is a nagging wife, it will only complicate issues.

Also, I think Mark should more love to his wife.
But looking at things, I don't think that Mark really loved his wife. There is a difference between the relationship betwee friends and that of couples.

Kim should be patient, enduring and cool-headed or else she will lose Mark to Tina.
But I doubt if that will happen

We gat a debate going on here, I think in my opinion Dan doesn't deserve getting Chris back but Chris deserves knowing the truth. Tina is doing the wrong thing and so is Dan. D9ty7 na u be baba.

Yeah. All factors are pointing to the fact that it will happen, but remember that this isn't a romantic story, and also looking at the kind of writer D9ty7 is.

You know, I may count that as a mistake, but in every mistake, there "must" be at least 5-10% element of intentional act there.
