Lmao. Now I know you just love blabbing. You cited names of African leaders. Is Wole Soyinka a leader, or just an academic?

Who's Dr Chinweizu Ibekwe? I don't know the guy. Wole Soyinka is similar to W.E.B DuBois and you can't compare him to some any guy who just sits there and rant everyday.

Academics are very influential people when it comes to social discourse because their views tend to be highly respected. Soyinka only uses his position to lambast corrupt Nigerian leaders but never points the finger at their masters, why is that?
WEB du bois was a sell out coon who beleived in integration. He believed that if blacks acted and behaved liked whites they would be accepted. You onlyhave to take a look at what is happening in the US today to know that this ideology has failed miserably. Coonish Du bois was a fervent advocate of colourism and looked down on dark skinned blacks, you probably don't know this but he hated Marcus Garvey believing him to be too dark skinned to qualify as a black American leader - this way of thinking still persists in black America till today.

Ironically Du Bois ended up being declared an enemy of the state by the US authorities to the extent that the US govt refused to renew his passport in 1963 forcing him to remain in Ghana (where he was visiting at the time )where he eventually died.

Okay, I get it. However, that doesn't negate the fact that both are completely different people, doing different things, while using different methods - to achieve the same goal. But that doesn't make anyone a puppet.

Let me an example there to buttress my point: does the fact that the likes Prof. Cornel West and Dr. Eric Dyson focus more on local issues in America, when compared to the likes of Dr. Leonard Jeffries and Dr. Molefi Asante, who are Pan-Africanists - make them puppets?

That's your logic right there and I'm yet to see anything that suggests that. Wole Soyinka can ditch Nigeria if he wanted to and go become a Professor Emeritus in one of the best Universities on the planet, yet the man never did that. But you lot still have ridiculous crap to say about a man who has sacrificed everything for his country - shameful.

And Mr, how does that change the fact that he was among the founding fathers of "cultism in nigeria institution". i never knew a damn thing dat cults do if not causing disasters and lost of lives.

Why?- because Nigeria's worst enemies are right there in Nigeria, from the leaders, to the people. Yes, a lot of the problems in Africa has to do with white imperialism. However, that doesn't negate the fact that there are also willing tools on the continent exploiting the status quo to their advantage. It's a two-headed dragon and you can't fight one without fighting the other. And Wole Soyinka focuses more on the enemies within than wasting time but doesn't mean he's pro-West.

Was the West the one who coerced Nigerian leaders into robbing the country blind? Is the West responsible for the extreme corruption, lack of institutions, debilitated infrastructures et al in Nigeria? Are they responsible for the educated illiterates Nigeria keeps churning out at an alarming rate? Etc.

You don't know much about Dubois and what he achieved. Apart from the problems he had with Marcus Garvey (which he later apologised for) - he's one of the greatest black people to ever walk this planet. Without Dubois and Booker T. Washington, there won't be black history today.

And you cant criticise the puppet without exposing the puppet master but Soyinka skilfully avoids implicating the puppet master while concentrating all of his attacks on the puppet. Without the puppet master there is no puppet .

Without the World Bank and the IMF there would be no IBB, Obasanjo or Okonjo Iweala.

If you are diagnosing a disease do you only focus on the symptoms or do you investigate the cause?

Marcus Garvey advocated unity of blacks worldwide, he also advocated black economic self determination which you claim to believe in.

Du Bois and Booker T believed in the creation of a light skinned black elite class (aka the talented tenth) who would lord it over the masses of dark skinned "ignorant" blacks. This buffer class would act as a lackey class whose main role would be to prevent the darker skinned masses from rising up against their oppressors.

MLK was also an advocate of the integrationist ideology (although he came to accept its limitations towards the end of his life) and the result was blacks losing the little economic power that they had because blacks could now spend their money in white owned shops and restaurants rather than in businesses in their own communities.
In other words integration was of more benefit to whites than it was to blacks and that's why it was made possible.

Lol. Your knowledge of black history is flawed and obtuse (not in a disrespectful way cos I like the fire in you but I just don't agree with ya methods and misplaced emotions). But before I get into that - I'll tackle the points you raised sequentially.

1). When the puppet master was in Nigeria, pre-Independence - he'd tackle them. I believe he was a radical back then, hence I believe he created the black Greek fraternity group, which was an anti-colonial movement. Somewhat synonymous with how the black panther party members told Fela Kuti to go back to Nigeria, when he was in America, and take his fight to the colonial structure left behind. See when dealing with a two-headed dragon - with both internal and external enemies - if you're well acquainted with the terrain, it's always better to deal with the enemies within first, before chasing the external ones. And I believe in post-colonial Nigeria, that's what he has primarily done.

However, that doesn't negate the fact that he does critique the West from time to time. His speech when he received the Nobel Prize is a classic example. Ditto his critique of: Apartheid South Africa and the flawed reconciliation programme; the western supported civil wars across the continent during darkest periods of African history; western puppets like Mobutu et al.

2). But does he not critique OBJ all the time, despite being from the same state, ethnic group, and partially being from the same subgroub (his maternal side)? And have you ever seen him laud Iweala for anything?

3). You mean the same Booker T. Washington, who was instrumental in the Atlanta compromise, during the Jim Crow era - and the man who believe that black folks were better off with creating their own structure for educational and economic advancement, rather than fighting and begging white folks to allow them become an appendage was a puppet? The same man who helped in building the historical black colleges and universites, black wall street, and everything black folks achieved during segregation - the one who created the structure that gave them a great head-start - before integration destroyed everything?

And a Du Bois who started Pan Africanism and the fight against colonialism in Africa (in case you don't know - Du Bois was instrumental in the first ever Pan African congress in London, in 1900, and he also attended the conference)? The same guys who set the ball rolling for the documentation of black history and scholarships those after them have taken to a new height? Yes, NAACP had its flaws when it started out - but I'm sure you don't know the organisation was created by mostly white and Jews, hence they were able to easily hijack it, after Du Bois died.

I won't even get into MLK and his nightmare. Let's just stick to these two.

the best brains in the world of literature have always praised his works. Personally, I found some of his works a bit bland. Buh there's no doubt they were fantastic works of art. Especially his plays and poems. Overrated? Definitely no! Underrated? Probably yes!
