I don't understand how everyone can see the efforts PMB is putting in, in the fight against BH yet some people deliberately pretend the armed forces have completely ignored BH and are facing Calabar.

1. Relocation of the command centre

2. The composition of the MNJTF and establishment of their headquarters

3. The commitment of $100 million to fight the terrorists.

4. The release of $21 million already for the fight.

5. The donation of $5 million from the U.S alongside technical and weapons support.

6. The commitment of the G7 to eliminating the terrorists.

While there is clearly a brief transitional lull in the actual fight which makes the terrorists appear to be winning, it should be appreciated that the aforementioned are crucial and vital for a solid foundation for dealing the blood suckers a final fatal blow. Fighting the militants does not translate into stopping the fight against BH, allowing such criminals to fester in the first place is what balloons into problems like BH.

All militants, kidnappers, and demented elements that think they can threaten Nigerians should either make good their threats, repent, or embrace the Hell-fire from the air.
bro using bombs to fight is just wrong.

1. The Fulani herdsmen in question are nomadic and do not stay in one place so an air raid would be ineffective at stopping their blood-sucking activities. Those fulani's you refer to are criminal militants and murderers that should also be eliminated decisively. All tribes have their bad eggs and unlike you guys, we do not shield our criminals out of ethnic sentiments because its plain foolish. I'm sure our agencies will soon announce measures to stop their murderous activities. As far as we are concerned, those rampaging herdsmen are armed robbers and they also terrorize communities in the North, don't be deceived. Regardless of which is pursued first, the fight against criminality must continue and we cannot allow the Calabar militants to fester as they constitute a threat to our NATIONAL security.

2. The nature of the bombings according to the report, was because it not just an attack on the militants and kidnappers, but a show of force in the restive region. We will not tolerate any private armies competing with the Nigerian Army/Navy/Airforce in the same country.

Nigeria will not respect or regard any militant any longer, they are all criminals.

Hypocritical response I must say. "Nomad" is used here in a context period. In a different context, those kidnappers are also 'nomadic' in movements. This is my take in all this friend, the only thing that will save Nigeria and the sub continent this time around is real structural solutions to foundational structural problems the sub continent is grappling with. All Nigerian problems from governance issue, to corruption, ethnicity, religious extremism, poverty, fulani herdsmen slaughtering unhindered, underdevelopment, power and etc are all structural, but of course, you and others that think like you including Buhari think the problem is in "governance and corruption", and therefore required " change". Well I have bad news for you. With the rise of China and other brics nations, competitions for Africa land, resources, market and etc are at its highest in recent history. World powers now see Africa as a geopolitical battle ground for the survival of their civilization and the stakes are at the highest in recent history. When you connect the dots, "I just hope, different aggrieved groups, boko haram etc don't go for weapons of mass destruction to be used in registering their greveinces", of which a systemic restructuring could have save the day.

only a fool will believe ur story. Firstly, there's no credible source.
Secondly, it would be all over the net. Even tv and radio houses. National and international.
I've been scanning the bbc for such news all evening. Watched both channels and ait news. No report of bombed civilians anywhere.
Stop spreading falsehood. I have people in cross river and I've been concerned all day...

"The commander said the Combat Aircraft MI-24 was being used in the operation and that the command was expecting the arrival of another fighter jet, MI-17" .

Nigerian journalists and their lazy reportage.. shocked the MI-17 is not a fighter jet as noted but an attack helicopter. undecided
Makes me wonder how many lies are stuffed in this report. SMH

Were there civilian casualties, how successful was the raid? I believe there would have been better ways to carry out the operation rather than air raid, or did the chief of air staff just wake up from slumber? All I know is that this same airforce has been found wanting even in the fight against bokoharam insurgency. This is a right move but with a wrong approach, u don't declare air raid cos u want to fight petty thieves!
petty thieves? Bro, pirates are not petty thieves ooo. They won't hesitate to slit ur throat for ur money.

I dont support criminal activities...so if this is true that the militants were kidnapping and stock piling weapons then I think using force on them was a good idea...my niger delta people..enough of this yeye kidnapping all for personal gains..lets join hands together and fight for resource control instead...if there be kidnappings it should be to jolt the government to heed to our call for true federalism and resource control not to quench some temporary hunger for money...

kudos! best comment I've read here in a while. all these militancy is now a means of living in the niger delta. they don't care one panla about resource control and enviromental degradation

Rubbish!!!!!

What's the Job of the Police?

Can Amosun order an airstrike in Ogun state, since there have been incessant cases of ritual killings there?

This entity called 'Nigeria' is a big scam!!!
no need for airstrikes in ogun state cos almost all areas there are accessible by road. The creeks are quite treacherous and the army is probably cautious about engaging the militants on water.
As for the police being left to handle militants and pirates, you must be kidding me! See how well they handled mohammed yusuf and boko haram back then......

The false information is usually spread by a few disgruntled Niger deltans and a hand full of my misguided brothers from the east. Hating for no reason. They seem to forget that a real peoples president like Buhari can multitask easily, very ,such unlike the bowler hat wearing dunce they hoisted on Nigeria for almost six painful and extremely excruciating years.
. Are so sure that no innocent live was lost? Bt was any recent attack by these militants so serious to warrant air raid. It possible some innocent persons were at the time. Just hope this's nt a kind of retaliation.

Why are they not bombing kidnappers in APC states? The reason is obvious, we didn't vote them, these are reprisal attacks by the North for Jonathans fight with boko haram.
Why are they not using same enthusiasm to fight boko haram? Why have boko haram suddenly become a force again?
ah! See beer parlour talk. I just weak.
An amnesty program is running for these militants . Yet some of them still choose to attack police posts, rape and maim civilians.
Some people are still coming here to fault efforts to stop these militants. I'm from ogun state and I can tell u I will be so happy if the army can help stem the tide of ritual killings around here. Though I'm all for fair hearing, I won't shed a tear if I see a mob setting a ritual killer on fire....

Fighting Niger delta militancy or getting rid of northern boko haram insurgency, which among them is the most pressing need at the moment. This is misplacement of priority.
