Hey Winnieberry I feel your pain but being an introvert is totally awesome for many reasons.
Being an introvert dosent mean you won't have friends or go out or have fun or boring. Take me for example, ave been a guest on NL for 2 years and I just registered last month but am well known now for just causing ish on FTC. As an introvert, It means you are in control of yourself and your emotions. Even if you are misunderstood don't mind them or give an F.

You Don't need to suck up to any friend.
You are intelligent and a deep intellectual cos you spend a lot of time reading books and surfing the net

Don't let any one change you and as for your man, Hey sister don't rush or push it cos at the appropriate time you will get the best God has planned out for you.

It just our nature and there's nothing we can do about it.

People tend to wonder why will a mature good looking guy like myself love to stay mostly indoors even on weekends but the truth is I love it.

With enough drinks in my fridge and foods in the kitchen and 24 hours electricity ( generator and nepa) I don't see any reason why I should go out and hang out in an uncomfortable place and gossip. if u need my company I can give u 15 minutes of my time and you will have to do all the talking ooo as I don't talk much.

People around us view us as alpha male/female because we are unpredictable and extremely mature for our age. We don't talk much but when we do people tend to listen..

With such nature people tend to give u some certain level of respect as they don't really know much about you..

We are more.
Mentally and Emotionally mature than people think. Our strength and weaknesses is a mystery to them
We are playful but only to those who are really close to us. We are fun but our fun must be indoors.


When I marry my wife will really enjoy my companionship.

In my next life I will still be an Introvert.

We share same trait. The exceptional beauty of being an introvert is that you think often than you talk. That makes you analyse sumtin b4 saying it out and u end up making sense. Your brain is always working while you mouth is taking a nap and its coz once your mouth opens to speak,u speak sensibly and gain respect to yourself. Ofcos you cant make much friends coz ur always indoors. Introverts put pressure on themselves mre than extroverts coz for you to make it into the business world,u hav to reach a compromise and when u do, u fit in even though deep within you its not your real self. So introverts always pretend to be like extroverts to make it in life coz the world is after the qualities of extroverts,u have to be social and speak up always.

I saw the news about PANDA syndrome yesterday and Twas a shocking revelation to discover how common strep disease can jerk a full blown PANDA in children.

I cant tell the lady of my dreams that i love her, i cant have fun with friends, i can't ask questions, i speak in parables too cmplex for my few friends to undrstand, i get bitter at the slightest, i cnt let go of grudges and past pains, i get easily irritatd, i have nevr askd a lady out bt i'v broken up with 5, i'm too simple_in dressn et al, i'm stingy with feelings, nw ths are sme major introvertd prob.

But with regards to whether something is wrong with yhu or not, it depends on how yhu choose to see it.

How do yhu feel?.
What do yhu wanna express?.
What do yhu think yhu ought to express?
Why?.
How do yhu wanna express it and why?.
If yhu dont feel the need to express, why is that?.
Why do find the internal realm comfortable then the external?
What about the external turns yhu off?
Why do yhu feel the need to run inside, are you scared of forming bounds with people?
And why?
Etc.

If yhu could answer those questions for yourself, then you could decide for yourself if something is wrong with yhu or not.

People easily mistaken acute concentration, mental focus or just pure workaholism with being introvercial, the only time introverts are praised is when it comes to creativity and invention, what people don't get is thats an introverts way of expressing or communicating with the outside world showing you wants in there head.
And there is no where, where introvercity is synonymous with creativity, even in psychology. Infact an introvert gets things done less faster than an extrovert, but the deep in details and expression is what makes the difference between the two individuals, its a matter of timetaken over quality. Time taken is necessary better than the quality, nor is the attributed quality better then time taken, but have there very own application.

hey see the female version of me o, @OP even my parents complain but for me I shift mood sometimes, when am among the friends I like even though they didn't like me.

I have a sister who is an introvert. She's getting better now though. I'm one also sometimes. The problem I have with introverts is their ability to bring moods down. Sometimes you just don't want to be around them else you'd be feeling sad for no reason. I don't know about others.

Op, too much of everything is bad! There's a fine line between being an introvert and a recluse. Pls u need to interact physically with people...browsing online alone isn't enough.....u can't be truly certain who u are chatting with. Visit a friend or school mate, go out for lunch or dinner or window shopping with someone, even your mum. U don't have to go to clubs or parties, getting more involved in church or school activities suffice.
Most of these guys who go out to shoot indiscriminately are usually introverts, who stay online all day, not talking to anyone, not going anywhere, no support system whatsoever, no outlet for their innermost thoughts....what's worse they are young with their whole lives out in front of them, yet......
Pls op, socialize more, for your physical well being....abeg!

If you need someone who will think outside the box by reflex, you'll most likely find that among the introverts.

Nothing wrong with being an introvert.

It is your nature and you did not choose to be made that way. But the problem is that the world prefers and celebrates extroversion.

One thing however is that both are needed to create balance in the human society.
Look at a picture of both personalities.

The extrovert is an outgoing person who is excited by being among/around people, he/she is easily bored when there is no activity to engage in. Yeah, he's got lots of energy to spare. He has no difficulty expressing his feelings. When he's angry, you know and when he's happy, it's also very obvious ('cos he can just throw a party to show his happiness). He may not be so much interested in deep intellectual talk (not in all cases though) but he likes small talks like discussing about the weather and things like that.

But the introvert is different. He is the quiet type who does most of his talking in his head. Yeah, he thinks a lot and likes to engage in deep and intellectual conversations. He can stay alone for days and not get bored. He is not so easy to 'read' when compared with the extrovert. You may not know when he's happy or sad because his default expression is
'blank'. He could be experiencing intense joy on the inside but the best he may do to show it would just be a smile (no, he won't go jumping up and down, screaming in excitement). He likes depth in whatever he does.
He is very good at understanding people but unfortunately for him, the gesture is not reciprocated as he is often misunderstood by many.
He doesn't make friends easily but once he considers you his friend, you are most likely going be his friend for life. You can now see why he has to keep someone on his 'probation' list for some time before admitting that person into his circle of friends (which is usually small).
He likes to work from the background, away from the spotlight. He hates noise!
Cool music playing in the background and a book in hand is a perfect way for him to spend the day. When he loves, he is usually committed to the one he loves...

Hence, you see that both are needed to complement each other so don't ever entertain the thought that something is wrong with you because you're an introvert.
However, you can try make friends with a moderate extrovert and you will see how it will help you open up a little, just the same way an extrovert's excesses are curbed when she has an introverted friend. I say moderate extrovert because a highly extroverted friend can drive you nuts with too much stimulation (from talking and other activities peculiar to her nature).

I know how NL is,,once a topic is out before you know it,,,within the space of 2mins, you will be seeing 27comments

sometimes you may see the post first,,but with this kind of long episode,you will find yourself on page 2,,,cos before u finish typing,,poeple with shorter texts are there before you....

That is why FTC people rejoice so much,,,but many don't know why,,,,

Just be yourself, that's all that matters. Truth is you can't control peoples' opinions about you so no point trying to.
As for me, I am an introvert and quite happy that way. Anyone who has a problem with it, well, it's THEIR problem not mine.

@ op there is no thing wrong of being an introvert person. the only problem is lack of understanding by our fellow extroverts brothers as being an arrogant people or snub. am also an introvert person and am comfortable with my Nature even though am experiencing a problem of stigmatisation for being in my shell.
