Glad everyone is talking war, we aren't mincing words with zoo baboons again. Why IPOB is preparing for the war, purchasing all that will be needed and seeking the face of Chukwu Abiama, funding ogbunigwe factories, buying and stocking weapons, talking to governments and groups that matter, preparing and sensitizing people, people like me are volunteering for the army, I am receiving training, IPOB is planning everything in order not to fail. People are shouting declare war nau. I am actually looking at zoo boys scouts without foreign troops being in battle field. I actually see us whooping some arsses. No wonder people are scared. 1000years? Fight still dey, and it must reach every other corner of Nigeria, Somali in waiting? Yes perhaps, we will nuke this entity? Yes. 2 Likes |

dinachi:The thread is a haven for other ethnic groups to call Igbos all sorts of names. You claim to be Igbo and opened this thread to discourage those agitating for Biafra, yet you ignored and even supported mor0ns like omoamukoda in bashing Igbos out of context and purpose. Now people are all over the thread insulting Igbos generally and you're rejoicing and merrying with them. What type of Igbo are you? Have you lost your senses? Do you actually know your roots? Are you really Igbo? Even non Nigerians would ask these questions. You don't see anything inciting but I'm riled up already. Take for example, you were asking who Igbos were and what they stood for when the British came to Nigeria. You're Igbo, nevertheless, the Hausa/fulani centralised pre colonial system of administration made more sense to you than the egalitarian Igbos republican system. Even the whites recognised us as people naturally independent, our system was comparable with the ancient Greek democratic system. Is it that you have an inborn slave instinct or you're an Hausa-fulani claiming Igbo? Even Yorubas insulting Igbos on this thread would also marvel at the level of your Iberiberism if actually you're Igbo. No matter how strong you're against a decision you will never stoop so low in technically making stupid jest of your brothers. A Yoruba won't cherish our pre colonial system of government over theirs and that leaves me wondering if you're actually sane or just a jumped-up random impostor. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

"The war aim and (final) solution properly speaking of the entire problem, is to discriminate against the Igbos and in their own interest. Such discrimination would include above all the detachment of those oil-rich territories in the Eastern Region, in addition, the Igbos' freedom of movement would be restricted, to prevent their renewed penetration into other parts, leaving any access to the sea to the Igbos, is quite out of the question, "(Federal Nigerian Minister speaking to E. C. Schwarzenback, Swiss Review of Africa, February 1968). You claim you want a United country with Ndiigbo, but you actually want is a conquered Igboland. Here is your post war policy against the same people you claim you want to build a nation with. Here is actually your so called 3Rs. 1 Like |

Why would a free thinking, well breastfed Igboman want to share a country with blood thirsty beings like you lots? See the kind of thoughts you harbour for us. Only tress heard that they were about being cut down and stood. You wonder why Nnamdi Kanu is gaining popularity amongst Biafrans? 1 Like |

Lordave:The truth hurts but it is the truth nevertheless. Why did the British apply the indirect rule in the north? Can you truthfully answer that question? We are no doubt great businessman and engineers but we need to learn a thing or two from our other neighbors. I hate seeing our people setting themselves up for another humiliating defeat that will set us back again. We have suffered enough. |

Atk1nson: No one is talking about you! Ibo is reaching for Biafra because it serves as escape route, and an easy way out of the hot political rivalry. Nigeria is always and will forever remain in political turmoil. Whether in military or democracy rule, ethnicity is the engine of our co-habitation. The ethnic base is the political base and is local. A Yorubaman will not go to Port Harcourt or Abuja or Kano or Maiduguri to create a political base from which to compete with his rivals. After erecting a solid political base at home, the Yoruba then goes to PHarcourt, Enugu, Yola, Sokoto, Makurdi, looking for augmentation and recognition for what he has built. Ibo on the other hand wants to go and erect his political base in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Sokoto, Potiskum....and when no one pays him attention then he wants to exist by himself and have nothing to do with others, he wants to run into his hideout - Biafra ! Intertribal marriage is irrelevant to the topic! 2 Likes |

pazienza:d enemy of d ibos are not d yorubas or s hausas. We have a common enemy which is corruption and every ethnic group and region is suffering it. How many Igbos can comfortably go their hometown and make a decent living, it's not all about low allocation, even d one given to the leaders are squandered. U are free to continue with ur line of thinking, but rest assured, u are in d minority and many of dose towing ur line of tot are either jobless or destitute people who would rather believe that it's a yoruba or hausa man dat is causing his failure rather than a failure in leadership which is affecting all nigerians. u won't find any successful Igbo man with ur kind of tot because d most successful Igbo men thrive on nigerias diversity to run their business. As for foolish oba dat decided to stir up ethnic sentiments, there will always d such, it is however good to know dat he was roundly condemned by all politician 6 Likes |

The Czeckoslovakia scenario would actually be best, if things don't improve. This forceful marriage seems very uncertain. A proper federal system would address many things BUT the beneficiaries (from all tribes/zones) seem to have no appetite to change status quo. NOW, many younger Igbo generations are suddenly yearning for Biafra, the same generations that have travelled wide, intermarried, lived, schooled, done NYSC and worked outside the SE. One major reason is that the Civil/Biafra war seems a taboo. There is no national discourse about it. So various narratives have arisen, your preference depends on where your sympathies lie. We see how arguably young and educated people here on NL taunt each other with Biafra & Ojukwu stories & jokes. We're still very far away from reconciliation. I doubt if silence is the best way forward. 1 Like |

dinachi:Which truth are you talking about? Anyway, I won't take that as a response to my post, so I'll let it slide. The British used the indirect rule system in the North and whole of Nigeria because, it favoured their purpose of colonialism. So what are you even talking about? Are really the guy that opened this thread? If really you're you should properly be prepared for technical and factual debate and not all these ota akara questions you're throwing. I'll excuse you if you've nothing sensible to argue about. But please do me a favour and tell your supporters to stop insulting Igbos, they can say whatever they like to those calling for Biafra, but they should please refrain from generalising their insults. dinachi: Radio Biafra has a listening base of about 20 Million in Biafra land, you think he can't coerce this regular listeners to vote yes? One think I know is that, if the 80% u stated were against Radio Biafra, the station instead of increasing its reach would have closed down and the director found some other thing to do. It is only a fool that will hate something, then listens to the said topic being discussed, then call his friends and families and tell them to come follow him listen, then tomorrow, u hear him listen to the same thing, the other same thing. With the way IPOB is receiving new members in Aba for example, u will think this people are among the 80% that hate Biafra. I went out today with my Biafran T-shirt, people were asking me where they can locate next IPoB meeting and I was like, but Dinachi said you people hate Biafra, or is he tanning Okpata. The same evening while going to oil my stomach as usual, I practically heard everyone on that road listening to Radio Biafra evening presentation, the funny thing is that I heard policemen are listening to it at their post locations, filling stations tune on to it with their speakers hanging at the top, bus people are playing it for passengers. On 1st of June I went to First bank with my dude, wanted to deposit some cash, they were jokingly asking people if they were were changing their nationality to Biafra. The army man that comes around my brothers Mobile Phone shop in St. Michaels calls his sales girl "Biafran gal". Every new IPOB meeting, new people have attended, I mean each meeting. What I have found out is that instead of people telling Nnamdi Kalu to stop his madness, they are encouraging him to rather and supporting him all the way. 4 Likes |

Atk1nson: I am not jobless neither am i a destitute, but any jobless man or destitute that is wise enough to recognize that Republic of Igboland is a must, is more enlightened than the foolish rich man that doesn't know his history, but clings unto illusions of wealth. Ojukwu father had more investments in the North and SW, yet none of that stopped Ojukwu from leading the battle for Biafra independence, for he knew that none of all those wealth combined can be equal to freedom. Just because you decided to live in the North or Lagos, does not mean that those of us in the SE are not doing ok. Igboland is the most advanced part of Nigeria, as par human resources and development. https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment We can do more in an independent republic, free of negative energies of other Nigerian groups. We will deal with our corrupt leaders the Igbo way, free of Abuja influence. Corruption never stopped any nation from developing. China and US are corrupt nations too, no nation is truly free of corruption. What stops a nation from developing is when the people that inhabits the nation have no clear cut and defined political ideology, no objectives, no unity and no connection to each other, as a result of lack of shared history, ancestry, culture or language. 8 Likes |

Interesting point of view on an emotive matter. Most people who attempt to speak on this matter make a fundamental mistake. While very few people remember today, the fact is that Biafra did not attempt to secede by choice. They were forced into it and the records are there to show it. In other words, irrespective of the eloquent argument you have made above, if we experience a third of what the ibos went through in 1966, you will personally lead the charge for secession whatever the chances of success may be. Having said that, it should also be noted that Nigerians would be far better off as one country, than any of the constituent parts can achieve on their own. In other words, if we got Nigeria right it would be a far more successful country than Arewa, Biafra, oduduwa or Ijaw could ever be on their own. However, there are no prizes for guessing that Nigeria will forever struggle as a Nation if we do not get our act together: 1. a country cannot exist when it depends on sharing the resources of one part of the Country, without rewarding that region adequately 2. A Country cannot go far where one part of the Country which contributes little or nothing to the National cake treats political leadership like a birth right 3. A Country cannot go far if it shares positions and roles which should be merit determined according which region a person comes from All of these things make Nigeria an inherently unstable polity, and we must gather the courage to make the sometimes painful decisions required to make this Union an egalitarian one. Until these issues are addressed unfortunately, those of us who ignore these facts and imagine that ethnicity is outdated are in for a rude shock one of these days. 4 Likes |
