Is Canadian visa application an online thing? I thought you have to submit docs like in UK visa appl.

4 yrs visa? Wow!!!! Please how much was the d visa fee she paid?

Hotstepper:

It doesn't matter. My family friend was already preggy when she applied but she did online application and there was nowhere they asked if she's preggy or not so she didn't indicate. She wasn't called for interview either and was given 4 yrs visa.

Now to the info everyone is itching to hearsmiley this is not MHIS Cuz Canadian system is different since our health care is free. Lemme explain.

So for her,

1. Dr fee was 750
2. Hospital was 2500 per day and she stayed just a day nd it's CS Ooo
3. Anesthesia..640

Total is 3890 CAD

The baby paid nothing because immediately he was born, he's Canadian so his health card which was given immediately at the hospital made it free. All the specialist that came to check him like eye, hearing etc was free. So this is the part that in US that adds up cuz baby have to pay.

I have never liked America though for two reasons. One: they call themselves world power yet the country suffers from a high rate of unemployment. Two: the gun issue

High rate of unemployment you say shocked
Have you ever been to Nigeria? grin undecided grin

Who are these ignoramus talking about Canada not giving automatic citizenship? It doesn't hurt to ask if you are not sure please.

That was how one almost swore that US does not give automatic citizenship till I had to send him a picture of my son's US passport.

LAX89; why didn't your friend get Naija passoport for her child instead of the travel certificate since you had to go to Ottawa? I understand that is where they have Naija embassy.

Getting a Naija passport for a new-born baby is very tedious and time consuming, it's much easier and faster to just show the embassy the new mummy's Naija passport and they can issue the new baby a TC right away. But if the new mummy and baby are willing to stay back in Canada for a while, I guess they can get one. And yes, Nigerian embassy is in Ottawa.

When I went for my son's own ehh, it was something else. I went there in person for 3 days straight. They were asking for so many things that wasn't in the website nd I felt beating up someone. The beat is to have an insider there and u r good to go

I feel you, it's always a frustrating experience dealing with them. But if you have an insider there, its easier. Last time I was there, there was a big drama, one guy actually accused them openly of taking bribes. And there were people that came even from Alberta hoping to go back home same day, it was a total mess. But I hear they're getting better now though.

Yes, we now have an insider. As usual, pay sumthing small.nd things will be done very fast nd less worry lol

@ Cgese

Canada is known for their heavy backlogs and extended processing times. Your passport can be with them for well over a month sometimes.

However, if they dont return it before your scheduled travel time.. you may write the embassy and request it to be returned.

They will return it. if still not processed, they will ask you to bring back when you return to resume processing

Good afternoon sir. Pls I would like to kow more abt d visiting visa processing period cos I applied for one on d 5th of May hoping to get a response by 5th of June for my husband's grad on d 12th of June. But lo n behold, till date I haven't received any update from it. From my tracking id, I'm still getting "is been processed". Pls Wat should I do? Thanks n waiting for a quick response.
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Nobody: 3:24pm On Jun 22, 2015
Madam, the canadians are notorious for these delays. write formally to them to request status because of your travel plans.
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 4:22pm On Jun 22, 2015
U should write them to find out

Honey86, who told u Canada doesn't give automatic citizenship? Nd who told you Mr man that people from Canada goes to US to give birth? Datz pure lie, rather its US people that goes to CANADA cuz Canadian passport is danger free. @OP, giving birth in Canada is not dat expensive, budget 10k dollars or less. Passport takes nothing less than 14 workings days, so they say but u get it faster and birth certificates takes 3 weeks. From da hospital, the baby will be given temporary health card nd the permanent one will be sent to the Addy u will provide nd social insurance no as well.

Today, things have changed. 10 years ago yes but today, Canadian passport carries the same danger as US passport.
As for the cost, it is almost the same for undocumented/visiting immigrants both in the US and Canada.

Jenny, u know a lot of countries don't like America nd most times Americans traveling put Canadian stickers on their bag..This was showed on TV. What am trying to say is that their are countries ppl with American passports might not wanna go in feat of being attacked

Every western citizen is classified as the same in today's dangerous world. Canadians are no more safer than Americans or Britons. This is the sign of the times.

Stop passing wrong information. One of the parents have to be a Canadian Citizen or permanent residence for the child to be a citizen . Giving birth to a child in a Canadian hospital does not give the child automation citizenship like the USA. Get your info right .

Where did you get this information from? Even if your flight is airborne in Canadian or US soil, the child will automatically become a citizen.
Please check your facts before posting. The way I know is because I carry both passports(US and Canada) and I shuttle between both for work and have also have relatives come over to give birth in both countries without any issue about citizenship.

Hello Good people,

Ahn ahn this group is now very active oh!

That's how one month after we applied for our visiting visa, we got the letter of correspondence that we didn't get our visas.

Reasons on both our rejection letters:
- History
- Family ties in canada and home country

Now I'm confused cos I have been to canada 3 times on my last visa. All my siblings live there, 2 have PRs while one is on a work permit. The only difference between my old application and now is that I'm now married, though I havent changed my name yet on my passport.

I used one of them's details and invitation letter.

We are going to reapply, asides all the scanned copies of my sibling's PRs and passport what else do I need to show them as evidence of family ties in canada and home country?

We also submitted all my bank statements and investment slips, would be adding that of hubby too this time.

We used the online application method, should we consider the paper application?

Any help will be appreciated.

I might be wrong but when they say family ties for Canada, I think since all ur siblings are here, you might not no intention of going.back to Nigeria and.for ties in Nigeria, who are you leaving behind to come.back.to? I.will assume u applied with ur hubby.

Thanks Hotstepper for your prompt response.

Well my parents and inlaws live in Nigeria and I voluntarily relocated back to Nigeria from the UK.

Not sure what evidence I need to show them oh. Maybe letter from my parents and hubby gets same from his as well?

I submitted my letter from my employer and Hubby will also add his this time.

Hello house, what is the chance of getting a visa if you don't know anyone in Canada? I notice in the application, they asked for letter of invitation.
