Workers Panic over June Salary in Anambra as Obiano assures on Workers’ Salaries, Delivery of Awka Flyovers on Schedule

www.odogwublog.com reports that following the panic on Friday that Anambra state is broke and
could not pay its workers June 2015 salary by the civil servants, Governor Willie Obiano has assured he would pay workers June salary despite the biting cash crunch.
And the release by SSA Media James Eze stated thus-------------- In spite of the biting cash crunch that has made it impossible for many states in the country to pay workers their salaries, the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano at the weekend assured Anambra workers that their salaries would always be paid and that the three flyovers simultaneously coming up in the state capital would all be delivered on schedule.
Obiano who spoke during an unscheduled tour of the Flyovers at the weekend also assured that the prevailing economic downturn would not halt any of the massive construction works going on in different parts of the state.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the bridges and maintained that things were going according to plan. “These three bridges we are seeing will be completed according to plan. Two will be completed in August this year while the other one will be completed in April next year. So, before May next year, we would have completed all these projects,” he enthused.
Governor Obiano further observed that the Managing Director of IDC, Mr.Shaheed was always on hand to personally ensure that construction work was going on as planned. According to him, “It may interest the doubting Thomases to know that we pay the bills on these bridges as they are processed and we are not going to renege on that. And we are not going to owe workers because of any of these projects. We are going to keep paying salaries,” the governor assured.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of IDC, Mr.Shaheed El-Ahel, assured that the flyovers would be delivered on schedule. “This particular Bridge, the Aroma Bridge will be finished by the end of August. Amawbia and Aroma must end in August this year. The Kwata Bridge will be finished and handed over with the ramps and everything by April ending next year,” Mr. El-Ahel assured.

That's is called planning,

"Despite the cash crunch experienced all over the country, Anambra will not owe a peny to its workers and all existing projects will still be ongoing"

Kudos to peter obi, and kudos to obiano for following some of his policies.

If I am not wrong, have u seen any out going governor who has planned for the workers welfare b4 leaving office?

I am not a fan of OBI, but I will always speak the truth when I see one.

Anambra civil servants, there is no cause for alarm, OBI kept all your salaries standby for 3yrs, obiano, will still carry that trend, they are real economists, they know when to save and when not to,

Thank GOD Anambra is not in debt with anybody, be it financial institution, cooperate body or even the govt.

Anambra kwenu!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obj don't know Dt our state is made of men. Not boys. Drops pen
FreeGlobe:
The governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has ambition for his state and given a clue to his ambition.

He said he plans to build an ultramodern millionaire’s city that will reflect the proud heritage of Ndi Anambra as the home of the greatest number of billionaires in Nigeria.

Speaking while inspecting three flyovers that are rising simultaneously in the emerging city of Awka at the weekend Obiano said, “We have a vision of building a Millionaire’s City. Most of the millionaires in Nigeria are from Anambra.

“I also understand that most of the people who own private jets in Nigeria are from Anambra. So, we want to set up a place for them where they can come home and build befitting estates with helicopter landing pads,” he stated.

Obiano restated his commitment to ensure that Anambra remains crime-free as it was crucial to all development efforts.

“We still maintain zero-tolerance for criminals in Anambra State. We have enough work for everybody.”

Obiano assured pointing out that the three flyovers that are under construction in Awka had created over 1200 jobs while Coched Farms Limited, an Agro-allied firm operated by the Coscharis Group in partnership with the state government had so far employed over 700 people in its first phase of operation.

Obiano also spoke of the plans to open up bid for the Millennium city project saying that Awka Capital Territory Development Authority ACTDA would soon be processing requests for lands in the choice location.

“The Awka CT will determine the kind of buildings to be erected in different locations,” he remarked and further revealed that the aerial mapping and photography of the Awka Captial Territory had finally been completed and approved by the Anambra State Executive Council.

“The aerial photography of the rest of the state would have been concluded by now but the weather would not permit that. So they will continue in October. By December they would have done the aerial mapping of the rest of Anambra State. So this aerial mapping has a great deal of importance to Anambra State. It will assist in estate development, erosion control, agricultural planning etc. It will also bring down the cost of doing business in Anambra State. We are one of the few states that have done it in Nigeria,”Obiano remarked.

According to him, the aerial mapping was the first stage of the state’s digitization programme. “When we are done with the Aerial mapping, we shall go to the next stage which is the GPS stage of this project where the GPS in our cars will guide us to different locations across the state.

Governor Obiano also revealed that four different companies are bidding to handle the design of the proposed Awka Capital City.

“The companies have made their presentations and the tender board will review and advise on the best option. By the time they are done, the chosen design will be super-imposed on the present Awka. That will give us a clear idea about the changes to make. On the whole we shall choose a design that will give us minimal compensation to pay as we expand Awka to be one of the best cities in the world. Just like everything I do, I am very serious about this project and I want to re-assure Ndi Anambra that this project will be completed on time,” he added.

Obiano also announced that as part of the overall plan for the anticipated Awka Capital City, he had directed the Special Committee on power to include Awka in the captive Power Project which gives special locations 10 megawatts of electricity. Other cities on the scheme are Onitsha, Ozubulu and Nnewi.

Yes you own the biggest mansion everywhere. Yes you came to a desert Lagos and built it from scratch while other Nigerians were watching and clapping in the background. I heard you even built Dubai also.

Your shanty markets at the mercy of the Governor are the biggest in Africa.

Does that make you happy now?

My friend keep quiet. How many PJ owners do we have in Nigeria? We have seen the top 10 and there's ONLY 1 Ibo at the bottom of the list.

Its not about tribe but you guys should stop lying unneccesarily, its embarassing. Igbos have the LEAST number of PJ's in Nigeria and Obiano was lying through his teeth. The FACTS are there for all to SEE.
Pls try to give reality chance and a thought. The most industrial people in Nigeria are ibos, just as we have 5 + 1 world powers but America is leading the rest that does not mean others are powerful. Normaly, i dont like engaging in tribal supramcay but some Nigerians especially on NariaLand like to quote the unusual and raise endless argument. Finally, people should be enabe to know their strength and weakness in the field of life. If the North is known for agriculture like wise other part of Nigeria have one or two potential advantage. So what remain for us is to harness these economic potential for a national development which will lead us to a united state of Nigeria. For now lets endure the piece of Nigeria.

Oga Willie, Don't forget that IHIALA LGA is also part of your Constituency. The effect of the sad decision and policy of your predecessors Ngige and Obi on the State University located at Uli is seriously affecting the Community's economy as the many building structures are rotting away due to low patronage. The roads in the Community are unpassable and the thousands of youths in the LGA are unemployed. Please let your light shine on the Communities in Ihiala LGA as a marked departure from the duo of Ngige and Obi. Don't forget that this LGA remains the stronghold of your party, APGA! Remain Blessed!

See the governor's life, building a mega city when the poor masses are homeless.Of course obiano will have a mansion to himself in that mega city. Who is he deceiving.. when the order of the day is how to reduce cost yet obiano wants to build a city with helipads.obiano, build low cost housing units first because those millionaires are already living in a different and fantastic world.misplaced priority.

the government will only create thw environment and determine the type of house that will be built. ..the government won't build the house. they can say. a part ll be bungalow. or a storey building. ir 4 storey building. u only acquire and build to ur taste according to the required standard. ...

Anambra has been lucky to have had two good Governors in Peter Obi and Willie Obiano. I can't even begin to wonder what would have happend to us if fate had landed us with someone like T Orji of Abia. That man was arguably the worst Governor in the history of Africa! His 8 year rule was just an 8 year bank Robbery.

You seem not to understand my post. But I guess we differ to agree ,you made some salient points though. But please can you kindly enumerate one or more reasons the exact Benefit or benefits on the long run of this Billionaire or is it Millionaire estate to entire ndi anambra I do want to learn. Cheers

Wherever Billionaires reside, their money reside with them there.
If he pulls all the Billionaires and millionaires to live in Anambra, every one of them will start seeing investments they've overlooked. They will start thinking home more.

Moreover, Igbos are communal and have developed communally. With the wealthiest living in the state, many of them will equally start investing in communal projects that they would not have invested in because of it's low profit margin like schools, hospitals, parks, recreational centres etc.

When it comes to paying personal income tax, they pay into the states purse and not elsewhere.

The benefits are so much to imagine.
