Hello. On my application on DS-160 for Tourist visa, I stated 200k as my monthly salary, instead of 103K I receive per month. I want to use my salary account bank statement at the embassy because I have done transactions of about 50 million naira with it within the last 5 months and it's current account. My dilemma is that even though the HR helps to alter my payslip to reflect 200k on it. What of the salary amount relecting on the account as 103k every month, can't that jeopardise my chance? Also won't the VO question that volume of money that flows through my account? Though I have the invitation letter from my uncle, letters also from my place work as a staff for 6 years, letters from my company cooperative society as a member stating the amount I have and the percentage am entitled to access, letter identifying me as a Postgraduate student of Univerty of Ibadan to the embassy and also documents as proof to properties inherited by me and also am single. How high is my chance?

You have already started to kill your chance by committing fraud.

Please I advise you to not alter any statements but to fill a new DS-160 with the correct details and provide evidence that all your 50m transactions are legal and genuine.

You may be banned for a very long time from the US if you are found out to have provided false documents.

American embassy don't care about those list of documents, they are just self inducement which adds very little to your application.

Bank statement and IV from your uncle 'might' be given a look.

Altering your payslip by your HR is one of the reasons why some embassies don't trust documents presented by Nigerians because we can even forge human being.

My friend, you better quit this forgery of yours. you had to even take it to your company HR and the person agrred to do fraud for you?? that's terrible! i know of a girl that works at a governmetn agency in lagos, she applied for UK visa, printed all sorts of payslips with the letterhead she stole form the office and did oluwole bank statement. after submitting her application, the embassy wrote to the MD of the agency asking him to verify his signatures and staff, with contents of the letter. she is currently serving a 2yrs suspension from work as we speak. Stop this act, cancel your application, fill another DS-160 form, put whatever it is you earn and go for your interview. if you have read well here, you'd see that getting a visa depends on so many factors asides from what you earn.. before Ladyguinivere's karma kicks you lying ass! grin grin grin

have a rethink.
cheers

have you fixed appointment? If you have fixed it with another ds -160 number, kindly fill out another to reflect your true status as you are because all these documents you are mentioning might not be checked and call the embassy to edit your profile and make sure the new ds 160 reflects on your profile and attend your interview as a "baby boy".
Cheers!

How do I fill a new DS-160 form and link it to the old DS-160 form, when my interview has already been fixed. What is the minimum amount to be put in the bank account b4 the statement is printed out?

mr conrnoil you cannot edit your form again that is why I said fill out another and call the embassy on the number 014406218 tell them you made a mistake on the other form and you have just filled out another and you want the changes to be reflected on your appointment scheduling page or whatever and they will do it for it, if you have exceeded the amount of times you should reschedule they will tell you whatever the situation is, all the best.

I got this below also from a website. What's your advise on it? Thanks
The State Department requires electronic submission of a Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application, prior to an individual’s interview appointment in connection with a nonimmigrant visa application at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate overseas. While information in the Form DS-160 cannot be changed or amended after the form is electronically submitted, applicants needing to make a correction may retrieve the information contained in the submitted forms in one of two ways. First, if the application was submitted less than 30 days prior to the date of access, the applicant may log into the Consular Electronic Application Center system, enter the application identification number, and select “Retrieve an Application.” When prompted by the system, the applicant should opt to create a new application, which will cause the entire prior application to appear (with the exception of information relating to travel plans to the U.S.) The applicant may then edit the information as required, and re-submit the application.

the ds-160 number will change after any change has been made to it, so it's more like doing it all over again. Or whatever you feel like

Re: Usa Visit Visa by larryblank: 5:00pm On Jun 23, 2015
hello bro,
the problem is not that you said marketing instead of field manager.the VO may think marketing is your duty as a field manager,if not the VO would have told you that you filled filed manager and while are you now saying marketing.that answer is on track.
THE MAIN ISSUE IS THAT YOU DO NOT GOOD TIES TO NIGERIA.i.e,YOU ARE NOT MARRIED NOR ENGAGE,YOUR SALARY IS ALSO SMALL.
I BELIEVE TO MY UNDERSTANDING, THAT IS THE REASON WHILE YOUR APPLICATION WAS NOT APPROVE FOR VISA.

hello, for USA visa the salary is not OK.as at the day of your submission of your application, please convert your monthly salary of one month to USA dollar to know if it OK for a good economic situation in the USA not Nigeria, because that is how VO operate.usa VO are not after your statement of account.they consider payslip of one month.
next time for a first traveler, try apply for business(b1) visa base on your situation.you can use expo, seminar etc.
thanks.

Y'all talk about salaries as if some Yankees earn any more than we do.
The US consulate doesn't give a Rat's butt about a lot of things namely salary and the others. There's an instance someone with an income of less than 50k got approved.

Once again I wanna use this medium to say, Travel history and home ties are invaluable in getting approved. Not forgetting the disposition of the officer and the " " wey dey for ya village.

I disagree. My wife got her 2 years visa US approved as a housewife with no income at all. We went together and they did not ask her a single question. I did all the talking.

I want to say salary is not the only criteria used by the VOs to adjudicate a US visa applicant . I can tell you I was given USA visa in my mid 20's even when I told the VO what I earn (as at that time in 2010) was 25k per month, never married at that time, never travelled before. I was given visa again 2 years after this when and I was never marries again. Go with right objectives, right request, clean hand and clean heart the probability that you will be given is very high.
