Henry120: Again, you are quoting the price of the most basic JF-17 And, the Gripen is better So yes, we paid more for a better aircraft Bragging that a monkey model copy of a monkey model copy is cheap is fairly pointless 2 Likes 1 Share |

agaugust: yes, tested/evaluated/selected/named... just like the T80U,Su30,Scorpion and Super Tucano Your cash strapped nation aint getting sh1t |

agaugust: Do you have any? No! Have you paid a single dollar for one? No! So, again I ask - how are Pakistani JF-17's going to engage SAAF Gripen? |

agaugust: JF-17 block one cannot |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 4:31am On Jun 25, 2015 |
agaugust: 1. Defence budget of around $2 billion - fact 2. That money has been spent 3. $25 million for a bottom of the range "daytime interceptor" Gripen is worth $68 million because people are willing to spend that on the Gripen - who has deemed the JF-17 worthy of purchase? |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 4:34am On Jun 25, 2015 |
Henry120: Pakistan is offering the JF-17 for a low price ($25 million in the cheapest configuration) and touts the fact that this is a third the price of an F-16. But this is comparing apples and oranges. The low end JF-17 is little more than a day time interceptor https://africadefensejournal./2011/11/28/chinese-jf-17-is-a-cheap-competition-for-the-f-16/ 2 Likes |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 6:23am On Jun 25, 2015 |
agaugust: Whatever goes by the name of Junk Fighter cannot do aerial refuelling, we are still waiting for the 29th aircraft that is said to have all those features. If Nigeria is banking for JF then they will have think twice before yet again they will be flushing their money down the toilet just as they have done with F7s. The Junk Fighter is just another F7 and even F7s outperforms it. |

agaugust: Nigerian government is cash stripped. If you haven't heard the news. then you are ignorant of everything that is happening on that country. Someone who is more informed, the first citizen Mr Buhari confirmed it. Your former minister was just delusional to try to protect his former master. |

Even Pakistan does not have trust on a Junk Fighter and they have ordered J20 in large numbers. They are only looking forward to dumb all their Joint Failure no:17 to the less unfortunate like NIGERIA. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 7:23am On Jun 25, 2015 |
Sahabg: Still, any wise nation wouldn't go for a copy called Junk Fighter. The Junk Fighter will only be patronised by nations as Nigeria and from there it will disappear just like Tejas. |

patches689: Super Tucano was dropped in favour of Su-25, that was just about 6 months ago. Aircraft purchase is not 3 day shopping for rice and chicken in the market. Both JF-17 and Su-25 deals are confirmed to be at near contract signing stage by Janes Defence. 6 months process ia 1,000 times better than a 23 year delayed project Biro that has not even named the OPV Yes Nigeria is buying shiit.....we just bought new helicopter gunships secretly.....Eurocopters from France, we got money even for aircraft bthat was never announced or budgeted for....sulk with envy dude.... . 1 Like 1 Share

jln115: The Gripen too will NEVER fly at 15,240 m, it's NOT efficient to fly at those altitudes.....according to your own logic, E-fool. Also the Gripen speed advantage is useless because mach 2 speed will burn off the engines at max power, now that's aeronautics science. fact . 2 Likes |

agaugust: and the JF-17 will not fly at its max speed for the exact same reason Gripen flying at 70% power is faster than a JF-17 flying at 70% power 1 Like |

agaugust: 1. Because india is involved in the PAK FGFA development - not the sh1tty monkey model of a monkey model 2. India developed the Tejas for domestic use, they dont need to sell them to fuel their own production like the Pakistani's |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 11:02am On Jun 25, 2015 |
agaugust: Augustus does not understand that capabilities cost money Augustus does not understand that to sell for $25million means that it is sold without the majority of its capabilities. $25 million Junk-Fighter Monkey Model is a day-time interceptor only Deal with the facts |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 2:04pm On Jun 25, 2015 |
patches689: Nope, the logic of jet speed is that no fighter goes full blast supersonic power. Average speed for operation is about 1,400 km/hr to save fuel and engine life. H.ell , you think air to air combat is an air race kinda Olympics where the fastest engine wins an engagement? F-35 Lightening speed is mush slower than JF-17 !!!!! Both Gripen and JF-17 will do that speed conveniently. Anyway in modern warfare, jet speed for supersonic fighters is no longer a dog fight factor, the m.issiles s.hot at the j.et is always much faster and will cat up with the target. Hilarious ! This guy thinks Gripen jet will out-run a missile from JF-17.....LOL....E-mumu |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 2:13pm On Jun 25, 2015 |
agaugust: again. Gripen is more powerfull So, Gripen running at 70% is faster than a JF-17 running at 70% Who said anything about speed and dogfights? I didnt once mention dogfighting - are you unable to stay on topic? Part of being a fighter is the ability to intercept enemy fighters. Gripen is better at interception and interdiction duties as it is a faster platform. 1 Like |
