kennyoguns0509: Mehn, this exchange rate is not encouraging.. but presently CBN sells 220..while others online 222.. Does it mean these mallams are exploiting us? I don't know much about this fx rate. House, please have you heard any one credit his/her blocked account using online banking platform as that's the quick and cheap channel I am considering now. if its possible, will I still be able to generate a telex (as a proof of payment). GTB n FBN online banking on my mind... I need your opinion please. Chao! |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by dolpaz: 10:12pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
scofield03: Oga, I dont think you can have direct access to the CBN exchange rate. Thats why we have the Bureau-de-change. I believe they serve as intermediary between the Apex bank (CBN) and the consumer. and since you dont have a license as a bureau de change agent, you may have to buy from them cos CBN has mandated banks to stop selling foreign currency. (Since Sanusi Lamido Era). So If you go to the airport as we speak, you may be lucky to get it for 248 per euro. As for the bank option, you can only make direct transfer if you are sending it to a school as the beneficiary, which will consist of the school name and bank account number. But since your Blocked account is a personal account (In blocked form), am sorry, that option may not be possible. I was at the bank with a fellow nairalander (Stanbic Ibtc) to be precise and they gave us a dormiciliary account option as the best possible means of transfer. after making thorough findings, we noticed the whole bank charges on the dorm account will Include: Telex charges, Off-shore charges, and 0.05% of the actual amount which is less than 100 euros in total (24,700). Lets hope and pray the euro suffers a rapid/sharp fall to enable us achieve our dreams. The decision is yours.. Choose wisely !!! Editted ! |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by kaypopps: 10:48pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
dolpaz:that is not true. you can credit your block account directly from the bank. request for form A , go along with your copy of passport data page, your nysc cert, your degree cert, your blocked account details, print the info for student visa on the german website because it shows that you should fund ur blocked account with a minimum of 7980 for student visa(that is the proof you need to show for the tranfer of the blocked money which is for ur lliving expenses),purpose of tranfer- lliving expenses for visa write a letter of the bank authorizing them to debit ur account for the equivalent naira of the euro you want to send. shikena . they will gladly tranfer it for you 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Diamond bank will gladly help you in processing form A. Eke40seven said it here sometimes ago and I approached the bank. They confirmed to me that it's very possible. I already opened an account with them and I'll see what happens when I'm ready to make the transfer. So if you want to exchange to Euro you should approach any Diamond Bank branch. 248 is way beyond budget oooo 1 Like |

Obiwan, how far. Yes, danniemore talked about something similar to that on the last thread, but things have changed. I don't want to talk about this anymore. Let anybody who has been to any bank in Nigeria with proven success of transferring money to deutsche bank via your personal current/savings account and less than 245 naira per euros as at today tell the whole house how he/she did it so we can use that channel. You guys should be so certain with current trend and not with ear-say, dem say . Oligee was very right about that. most banks will tell you the same. Kayuspop, if you have to counter me, please do that with concrete evidence of which branch of access bank exchanges euros for 245 or less so we can be well informed. Mein zwei loffel ! |

Guys, calm down and approach any Union bank branch close to you....I had a terrible experience back then trying to avoid all this forex fluctuations and wanted to do personal transaction with a guy in Germany through the help of a friend here......long story short, I lost a 1,000,000:00naira to the scam.....never do your transactions through illegal means......please approach the bank and there will be legal proof of all your transactions...... I eventually made my transfer back then through Union Bank branch without any need to open a domiciliary account.... They demanded for just a saving account and will debit the equivalent amount from that savings naira account and credit your Deutsche bank account in Germany at the prevailing bank rate of the day of transaction..... The charges also will be taken in naira from the savings account..... The form A works and to me is even cheaper than using domiciliary account which you have to fund urself buying from aboki at higher rates.....I hope it is helpful..... I wish you all the best.....please don't trust anyone with your money oooo.....do a legal transaction..... Ciao. kennyoguns0509: 2 Likes |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by oligee: 10:13am On Jun 25, 2015 |
kaypopps:Well....you are correct. I just left Access bank now. Initially d lady at the front desk said it is not possible. I insisted that as a student it is possible with my admission letter and other evidences. She later directed me to the Assistant branch Manager. The AM confirmed that it can be done and gave me the guideline and all the possible charges. So I opened an account with them and collected the A Form. I am waiting to get the complete amount to lodge into the account. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Ahbbiey:someone told me it can be certified in Germany how true is this? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 11:12am On Jun 25, 2015 |
telvinfantasy: If you send your documents to a resident in Germany who can help you certify the documents then no problem. The question you should ask is "Would the certifying body ask for identification? will whoever is certifying them for you be queried?" Plus you will have to send your original documents to Germany, unless you are currently there I feel certifying in Germany is a hassle. |
