Your not Urhobo and your not Nupe. Were you not the ones that betray Southern solidarity to defeat Jonathan thinking Nigeria will be handed to you in a tray.
Were you not the ones cheering Gambaris for killing Saro Wiwa and Ogoni 12 ??

Was Awolowo not the person that wanted to demote Oba of Benin because he discovered he wield much power than entire Yoloba Obas combine which later caused the creation of Mid Western Region where Zik's candidate floored his candidate to emerge premier.

Why did Awolowo regarded Itshekiri as Olu of Warri because the Urhobos didn't support him so he decided to get back at them by elevating a clan leader as a grade A king in Warri a multi ethnic city. ??

Were you not the ones cheering Buhari for bombarding Calabar and Akwa Ibom?

Isn't Obasanjo the Yolobaman that killed many in Odi in 1999 ??

Stop acting like you love other Southerners, everybody in South knows your mission. The South is wiser now.

Its either Fairness, Equity and Justice is entrenched or clamour for Biafra will continue to garner more support, force and momentum.

My conditions for continuous existence of one Nigeria as one entity is/are:

Creation of an additional state for the SE is non negotiable

Uniform admissible Jamb/UME/UTME scores for every student/candidate irrespective of region or state.

Establishment of federal govt MDA and parastatals, and adequately represented in every region.

If the above are not tackled and addressed, then I'm sorry Nigeria can go to hell.

Btw, no one is calling for war...its going to happen peacefully....but if some god-forsaken, selfish persons think they can forcefully hold us together under a cursed union, then war becomes Inevitably. cool

How can I be happy when my people are treated differently in a place they called their country.

the difference between Igbos and Yoruba is tha Yorubas can accept being in servitude all his life but an average Igbo is republican and always like to excercise his liberty.

Why is it that its only in East that reprisal attack alway occur in Nigeria whenever this bloodshed in North but other regions remain calm while others play Ostrich of "we are not affected".

Igbos are not happy being in servitude, get that into your head, look at how the Gambaris have turned you minority in your majority party and your here still talking while Biafra is a bad idea.

Am angry and I must bare my heart.

Please use your leave and travel to Jos, Jalingo, Minna, Kafachan, Makurdi, Lokoja and Ganye. Talk with people and you will find out that those you mentioned have no interest in siding with your Nairaland permutations.
After you are done with your travel engage Igbo political and business leaders in Abuja, Kano and Lagos. You will find out that the majority of Igbos give no thought to a Biafra-like civil war. The NIGERIAN ARMY dealt with Ojukwu not a Yoruba, Middle belt or Hausa army. THE NIGERIA ARMY, will deal will deal with any neo-Ojukwuist of violent Biafralist. Ask the people or Borno and Yobe with Boko Haram and THE NIGERIAN ARMY caused to the land. The same fate awaits any enclave in the east that attack the Army or Police of NIGERIA on biafra reasons.

Am beginning to lose respect for you coz you are becoming very dishonest and hypocritical. Why did you leave out the fact that the VP is Yoruba and from the South, and that the Senate President is also from the Yoruba ethnic group even if from the NC geopolitical zone? This coming from the same you who opened a thread yesterday to bash Yoruba "sophistication" while praising the igbos for simultaneously producing VP and Senate President in shagari's era, while a Cross riverian was HOR speaker -- in effect setting the precedent for having the #2,3, and 4 positions being alloted to the South. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I believe you're right, cos one of the key demand from President Roosevelt to Churchill was to let go of all their colonies, especially in Africa as one of the considerations for the US to join the war against Germany during the onset of the 2nd WW. Churchill refused, and was able to convince the US Govt. and Congress that letting go of African colonies will disadvantages the western civilization in the future, hence both US and Great Britain agreed to a middle point, of which the outcome is the British common Wealth of nations with the colonial boundary still intact. When you look at the outcome deeply, you will observe that the wealth of those former colonies, not only " common" for the British, but subtly in full control over their politics, economy and etc through those colonial structures that were tied into the international order that were instituted after the defeat of Germany. The rise of China will definitely change the whole dynamics even though China still work and corporate with the existing order. The US have come to realized this reality as they begin to orient or adopt some strategic(long time) policies or idealogies if you may in their best interest to deal with the negative consequences of the rise of China. A couple of these policies are the one the Obama administration refer as "The responsibility to protect" that saw them into Libya, Syria etc with the unintended or tended consequences there after. Secondly, support for self determination through the democratic process, but will invoke the "The responsibility to protect" mantra when things get out of hand. This policy changes have tactically inspires the indigenous People movements we are now witnessing in the middle east and elsewhere.

Igbos didn't show hatred on Yolobas, it was a Yoloba Oba of Lagos called Rilwayne Akiolu that sent hate message against Igbos during lagos guber election.

Igbos didn't show hatred against Yolobas it was Yoloba Youth that took to twitter and called for mass killing of Igbos before general election.

Igbos didn't show hatred on Yolobas it was a yoloba cardiologist based in Dallas USA that called for genocide against Igbos.

Yorobass hate Igbos naturally and on industrial scale not the other way round.

Records should be kept for our kkids to learn.

The factors that forced Awolowo to team up with the North have not changed. These are the factors:

1. Yorubas can't allow Ndiigbo leave Nigeria, knowing they will now be stuck with the Arewa in a master-slave relationship for eternity. The presence of Ndiigbo in the Nigerian dynamics affords the SW a degree of freedom from the Arewas, as the Arewa will always have to thread carefully with them, if they must divide and rule the country.

2. Yorubaland is too close to the North for comfort, the Yorubas can't afford to team up with Ndiigbo against the North, as that scenario will turn SW to a battle ground between Ndiigbo and the North, with heavy loss of lives and property on the Yorubas, while the East and west remain peaceful. Yorubas would be stupid to allow such a deal, Awo didn't allow it, Tinubu won't.

3. Yorubas can't be neutral in any Biafran-North war, the North is landlocked, and will ever need the SW ports to import weapons and other logistics during the war, if the Yorubas grant them that wish, then they would have become Biafran enemies by default, if they don't, the second point(2) will happen. The ever pragmatic Yorubas would rather join the North to take the war to the East, than join the East and turn the SW to war theatre between the East and North.

4. Yorubas have a significant number of muslims amongst them that will always be sympathetic to the Islamic North cause.

5. A significant chunk of Yorubaland is part of and parcel of the North, Yorubas have a stake in the North, and will always be dragged into the Northern mess by the Northern Yorubas.

6. Yorubas are much more interested in the ND crude oil wealth that will ultimately vanish with the secession of Ndiigbo which will trigger a cascade of events that will see the Eastern region non Igbo groups and the non Igbo Midwest groups either form independent countries of their own or join Biafra. Igbo secession is not economically beneficial to Yorubas.

I am glad you know this.
For everyone shouting "One Nigeria", I see a typical black slowpoke who doesnt know that Britain is raping Nigeria, Britain makes the choice of oil from FG, and the rest we sell to get money as a country.
Britain had to be kicked off from Africa before they even agreed to give us "paper" Independence, but they are still the one controlling our economy, politics and policies.
When it comes to our resources, they take the best pick and then Nigeria can take the rest.
Britain has a port somewhere in Bayelsa, where their ships come in and takes oil without being metered, infact it is such a pitiful thing that everyday there is a ship in that Port collecting free oil.

Nnamdi Kalu said this thing on Radio, that British government is not fair to Nigerians and Africans, that's why they were accomplice in civil war genocide.

It was the same Nnamdi Kalu that told us that Nigeria imports palm oil from Malaysia and Indonesia, and alas, i google search it was true.
Infact he even called the name of the ship that brought in the last consignment.

Nigerians are blind. Such a pity.

There is nothing like middle belt. The Northern minorities had it worst under the Hausa-Fulani pre Biafran war, than they do now, the Tiv riots of 1960 and 1964 http://www.academia.edu/7673034/Tiv_Nigeria_Riots_of_1960_1964_The_Principle_of_Minimum_Force_and_Counter_Insurgency, was there, and even the Jos crisis. Yet they all teamed up with the Hausa-Fulani to invade Biafra, the bulk of the Nigerian northern army were from the middle birth, both the Christians and Muslims amongst them.

They also all partook in the Araba massacre of Ndiigbo after the counter coup, many Igbos escaped the far North only to get massacred by the Tivs and Idomas in the present Benue state.
Worst still, the leader of the Arewa-Odua Army was a Middle beltan Christian by the name Gowon.

Nothing has changed. The middle belt will always remain a Northern middle belt.

Any Igbo planning for Biafra war 2.0, must factor this into the war equation. The middle belt is a default enemy. This must be made clear, while we work to extend hands of friendship to them.

Good one.

From your point of view though.

There is also another line of thought to it.

These tribes existed before the civil war and the same victimisation occurred back then as it occurs now. War is won on paper, but when it is a multi dimensional front war, the largest group almost always win. In War college, its a 'divide and rule tactics'.

A lot can go well and a lot can go wrong in a war...I don't pray we see one in my time. I've seen videos and first hand reports from my father and his colleagues of the civil war, wars in Liberia, somalia and some other countries where they went for peace keeping missions. Its not something we want to experience.

We already thought about all that. But wen war becomes inevitable, All a Man can do is prepare.

@EUROBOMBER. You have allowed ethnic sentiments to overshadow reasoning in your analysis and for the sake of all dreaming of Biafra you need deep thinking.
There are a lot of interests in Nigeria and in the best way to have a Biafra is to seek for Confederation or Regionalism where Biafra will be an autonomous nation within a bigger Nigeria and the Igbo will win on both sides.

Of great strategic importance in winning any war is the Middle Belt because they are more in the military and are swing regions. In forming alignments the Yoruba are related to and can form a united front with groups in Kogi including Igala and Tiv together with their Kwara kinsmen.

Who are the allieds of the Igbo? You are just being emotional and I know you do not want a war you cannot end.

OduaVanguard has said it all. It's not as if the Yorubas too are not tired of Nigeria. in fact, almost every ethnic group wants this failed marriage to end, but Nigeria has gotten to a point where breaking out will be an herculean task. Yorubas have businesses outside the south west, same for the Ibos, Ijaws et. al. In as much as everyone is tired of this 'zoo', we have to tread carefully. The ibos are the only agitating for war, but do not know that they are most vulnerable in the event of war. Nmadi kanu has brainwashed the average ibo man to believe that the Yoruba and Hausa are his problem. Your warning should be directed to Kanu and his fellow minions. If they want war, they should bring it on.
Be careful what you wish for (it might just happen)

Oh yes, The North n the SW are the problems we igbos have in Nigeria. We already said that long before the invention of radio Biafra.

One thing you can't take away from Biafrans, is information. cool
