These are serious allegations. Unfortunately we can't ask this group to show us proof. I think this is a welcome development though. U would remember that even Gen Azazi once replaced DSS with Israeli agents during Goodluck's presidency. Also the DSS are IBBs boys and Buhari knows that.

A decision like this is by no means trivial. There must be something they have seen or discovered thats warranted this. I believe its just a temporary fix pending when DSS is restructured and cleaned in and out.

Buhari really have to come to terms that this is a democratic 2015 not a militarized 1983. He should sack the head of the organization instead of playing hide and seek thereby causing inter-agency crisis between the Army and the Dss. A leader must be decisive in decision making so far it is within the constitution.

Its the same every where in the world,the secret police is loyal to every sitting President,to a fault.Do you remember the American Journalist Garry webb who discovered that the CIA used cocaine money to fund the contra war in Nicaragua? DSS officials are trained to be loyal to any government in power. They are supposed to be partisian. I believe they are ready to be used by Buhari if he so wishes. They had no option but to work with Jonathan's govt....

When the DSS arrest their buddy Kanu Nnamdi then we might reconsider them to be better than boy scouts, till then they should do their beats around the premises.

Wasn't the military also accused of being partisan during the run up to the elections? We all remember vividly how APC accused the military of colluding with the then ruling party during Buhari's certificate saga and how similar allegations were flying from APC when the military adviced for the elections to be postponed.

In the light of this what then is the justification for sidelining the DSS? If this is some kind of punitive measure for what allegedly happened during the elections then this new administration is being outrightly petty and silly.

I will however hold out hope that Buhari and his team are privy to some critical national security developements that necessitate this move and are not just playing a political game of reward and punish.

The secret service of every country is trained to be loyal to the government in power, the smartest move would have been to replace the people that call the shots with his men, all the top men should be retired if he can trust them. Then replaced with his men.

The world over, guarding the president is the exclusive of the DSS/SSS and other allied departments, the army should not even be seen outside their base with their camo except in times of war.

More than 200 innocent people lost their lives in that carnage. According to the leaked document, the Kano state DSS director, Bassey Eteng, who served in the state for more than five years, was responsible for masterminding the carnage. To cover up for his heinous crimes, after GEJ lost the election, he was promoted to a substantive director and was transferred to Abuja as director of operations.

Markson Obede: His Excellency’s telephones have always been bugged by the DSS. This became escalated to include top APC officials across the country. In the meantime, the DSS halted the telephone bugging of all Boko Haram suspects and kidnappers. Following the defeat of GEJ at the polls, the assistant director of communications intelligence, Markson Obede, managed to secure the services of the Israeli intelligence agency (MOSSAD) to install additional bugging devices at the Villa to spy on Your Excellency.
