Mamas I'm about to rant ..OK here goes..I'll be 16wks on Saturday..I thot by now I shld feel great and be off m/s but I dunno..its just refused to stop..some days I'm fine..odas not so OK..I still throw up at least 2wice daily..I feel hungry bt den I'm scared of eating cos of d vomiting session..cos in d process I get specks of bleeding due to a sore throat..I crave sweet drinks but I've noticed I begin to hv swelling feet and severe joint pain after taking sweet stuff(as opposed to d salt belief mine is actually sugar,been experiencing it before I got married sef)
And den somtyms @ nyt wen dh is sleeping..I stay up and cry my eyes out for no solemn reason and I wake up feeling OK d next day.
Pls wen would I begin to feel OK mamas..I'm rilli scared dt it dsnt continue thru out pregnancy

lol m/s duration isn't defined, some have it long others short.actually mine stopped just last week at 28 wks .de day i bought a book supernatural childbirth, as i went through it i was provoked in my spirit, went on my knees and cried out to God dat was the end,it was a terrible experience.
for the 1st tym since 12 wks m/s started I ate stew, took tea , bread and even pap without vomiting it.
right now, I feel Lyk my old self, no pain, no headache, nausea just lo's vigorous kicks

Well, my hubby and I are Yorubas and we have agreed that my mum will come stay with us for at least a month before MIL comes. So nowadays, it also depends on the.decision of the couple cos I am more comfortable with my mum taking care of me at least till I heal well before MIL comes around.

Totally normal. If we drive past someone eating or I watch something (even an advert) and there's food in it, I don't feel hungry but I want to eat what they're eating, immediately. This always ends hilariously.

I have people ttc & experiencing secondary infertility & I dare not bellyache too much aroud them, not because they'll side eye me but cos I know they wouldn't even mind bed rest,cerclage,anythhing at all provided they get a healthy baby to love & nurture at the end of the ordeal...

We'll enjoy the fruits of our labour of love, E-hug my sis.

It will end in praise.try limit d ones dat aggravate d trowing up.I can feel ur pain trowing up n getting sore troat.I experienced it too with blood in d mixture wen I took clomid last yr.its well.y not avoid d sweet drinks since u knw right frm onset doesn't go well.be encouraged u will get a beautiful princess/handsome prince to show for all d stress.

I tire 4 myself too.Lolz! d suprising part of it is dat in my 1st tri I couldn't eat,only milo n fruit upto 2nd tri. But suddenly in my 35wk plus my apetite spike up n turn me 2 'ijewuru'...

to be honest, this is the first time i am reading or hearing that one MUST take vitamin C with fersolate and i will suggest you disregard it.

i am not saying i have got the best doctor/midwife in the world but i am very confident about their competence. if vitamin C was a drug essential for pregnant women, they would not hesitate to prescribe it to me.

like i said, even the iron tabs, he prescribes it only after doing blood test to check your blood count, etc and like in my case where it was reported as slightly low, he told me to work on my diet and gave me a list of iron-rch foods i should be eating.

On Vitamin C. I am still trying to figure this out, and would appreciate any help/explanation.

It's of noteworthy that taking too much (mega-doses) of Vitamin C during pregnancy could cause problem for the newborn. Sometimes, it could increase the risk of preterm birth...etc. Therefore, preg. women are cautioned on the intake of V.C #Google.

Now, what happens when we take too much fruits that are good sources of Vitamin C, such as fresh fruits and vegetables especially citrus fruits?

Would it have similar effect?

apart from the risk of pre-term labour, synthetic vitamin C can abort a feotus, so its best to stay off at least for the first 12weeks in pregnancy. the vitamin C in fruits is the 'good one'. besides, the chances of over-dosing on Vitamin C or going over the acceptable limits for pregnant women via fruits is low compared to taking the synthetic form (drugs).

i dont know about you but personally, i cant finish more than 2 oranges at a go. infact, i rely on the odd smoothies to get my vitamin C intake as i just get put off eating assorted fruits. so all i do is drop one banana, milk, few strawberries or blueberries, 2 chunks of pineapple in my smoothie maker and thats me done. i can just have 2-4 in one month.

At this point in my life,all I can be is sensitive & cultured when stating my truth but as for not being woman enough to say it.. I say F that sh1t.

God nor dey give one person all the belle baggage, I dont swell for anywhere apart from belle.. Nose, face, legs etc stay the same.. The amount of HCG coursing through my system ensures that I gain not more than 8-10kg or thereabout all through & baby comes Big & !!

I'll try trebor but hope it doesn't do me like other minty sweet stuff, & back up the acid to induce vomit later!!

All in all, no matter how much anti belle makes me feel, once I remember the sheer joy & delight my children are to my life & how much I adore & live for them, I just know its all gonna be worth it.. **this made me eyes misty girl**

try the trebor. its not too sweet and not too minty and it should give you relief. you can get the 'soft' tebor which is easily chewable unlike the ones that break up in your mouth like chalk (i find it hard to suck on sweets without chewing them )

Hello to the mamas in the house, may God bless us all. I woke up last week Thursday to bathe, while brushing I started throwing up and then I noticed some greenish bitter substance. I told mumsy n dad cos I went visiting them and they advised me to go to a nearby clinic to check myslf.
At the hospital, I kukuma do registration cos it's a maternity clinic and after the test, I was told I was having typhoid and that it was very high. (I was 8wks gone as at last wk). So, the doctor advised that I be admitted for my safety and that of the baby cos it was too earlier.
So, mamas dem na so dem take admitted me be that o! Got discharged after 48 hrs. Before and till now, I hardly can drink water, malt and soft drink.

@nkkystel..sorry dear..wishing you safe recovery..I throw up same too but mine is yellowish bitter substance..and Doc Google says its bile..and DAT happens mostly wen u hv an empty stomach and feel the urge to throw up..never been sick let alone to test..but since urs says typhoid dem I'm glad ure being treated..as for the malt and soft drink I'd advice u don't tk any for now due to its gassy content..try to tk water in sips..ul be fine

Abeg, who follow me dey awake dis nite?
Slept around 8.30pm just to wake up around 11pm. Since then, sleep no gree come.
I have done lundry that is intended for 2moro, but still my eyes dey shine, browsed thru nairaland, still no way!
Good thing is 2moro or rather 2day is saturday, so I can sleep till 10am or later depending on when my eyelids gets to close again.
Sorry for the long post, sleepless night na him cause am.
