MrsChima: One of the essence of having feminism debates is to enlighten more women why they should enjoin the movement and likewise for anti-feminists. They might not support feminism but with the right drive and persuasiveness they could have a rethink and Nigerian feminists themselves are yet to admit sharing equal financial responsibilities in relationships and marriage is enshrined in the equality treaty. They're usually passive whenever the issue is raised for deliberation and I find that suspicious. |

ronald4lif: There you go again...you expect Nigerian women to be independent and fortitude in a male dominant country? How come when Nigerian women seek residence in other countries and gained their own financial and social freedom...she has been westernized? Flipflop mentality sef. |
Re: "Chat Central and Derailer's Paradise"...Welcome! by MrsChima(f): 11:26pm On Jun 26, 2015 |
ronald4lif: So every Nigerian woman in marriages and relationships are not sharing financial responsibilities? So every Nigerian man in marriages and relationships is gainfully employed or own a business? Haba! |

ronald4lif: Exactly! I remember when I was in college a few months ago, most of my roommates hardly ever talked about being successful, just 'I'll just get married to someone that can take care of me'. Of course not all Nigerian women are like that, but it appears the vocal majority are. I'm tired of seeing educated women settle for less by burying their talents and depending on their husbands or boyfriends for monthly allowance or to open shops for them. Why won't those men have a superiority complex? No way I'll pay so much money to attend school and keep my grades high just to become somebody's baby machine |

MrsChima: Nothing is 'every' or absolute, there are always exceptionalities. But a large percentage of Nigerian women deem a relationship as an avenue to fulfilling their financial needs. Financial gratification is the drive behind a relationship and their leeching games is repulsive. And to those who contributes it should be equivalent to the man's tranche. Nothing short would be acceptable. Equality should be matched with actions and responsibility. 1 Like |

MrsChima: It appears you're straw manning his post. Did he say "when Nigerian women seek residence in other countries and gained their own financial and social freedom she has been westernized?" Where did you get that idea from what he said? |

Re: "Chat Central and Derailer's Paradise"...Welcome! by ronald4lif(m): 11:48pm On Jun 26, 2015 |
Velocitron: Actually, I have also assert and maintained that I'm for gender equality and I don't deem it a threat as I relate with women daily on equal footings and we're cool. I have been quick to pointing out the contemptuous and unjust attitudes of Nigerian men towards women just like I dig out the irregularities of Nigerian feminists to the bare. Which financial responsibility is prime but madam Chima is tacitly evasive and unforthcoming whenever I highlight it. I'm used to her coy but I remain unabashed. 1 Like |

MrsChima: Yes, but this is what you said: "How come when Nigerian women seek residence in other countries and gained their own financial and social freedom...she has been westernized?" I'm just wondering how you arrived at that from his post. |

MrsChima: Yea I did accede that they should thrive to become independent so as to enable them contribute 'equally' financially to the financing of the home before yearning for equable rights. When someone wants something they earn it. How does that correspond with westernization?. |
Re: "Chat Central and Derailer's Paradise"...Welcome! by MrsChima(f): 11:54pm On Jun 26, 2015 |
ronald4lif: Do you have a link to where I can access your findings? You seems to know every financial reports and bank accounts of Nigerian families. You said there is no absolute but you know many Nigerian women...how many do you know personally? Are you speaking of the Nigerian women you know personally then if so I digress! I can make generalization about Nigerian men but it would be irrelevant because I can't clump all Nigerian men the same because of a few. You should try it. |

ronald4lif: Did you read my post? Or you responding off the chick's comment to me? I said nothing about westernization...I said why Nigerian/African women who becomes financially and socially free especially in other countries are coined as westernized by Nigerian/African men? Can you honestly tell me if African women become wealthier than their male counterparts that their partners won't have an issue? |

MrsChima: I want to believe you're above this pettiness. Seeking for proof or evidence to give credence to the fact that most Nigerian women leeches on men in a relationship is puerile and please come up with something better. I don't know when last you were in Nigeria or if you've ever lived there for a lengthy period. I schooled there and I'm a frequent visitor I can tell you for a fact that when it comes to finances it's lopsided and unfavourable to the men. Not even Victoriabee, misssclassy and other of your ilks can refute this claim. Financial responsibility is regarded a man's affair while the women hardly spend. Please let's get serious. 1 Like |

ronald4lif: That's what I thought. You don't know every Nigerian women to make that assertion. Because you went to a school full of leeching Nigerian women and their dumb boyfriends means "many" Nigerian women are leeches and dependent on men. If Ronald say so it is fact! Gotcha boo! I feel bad for you and the men that had leeches as a girlfriend cos gotdamn you and your likes sounds bitter as hell. Please don't date another leecher! Abeg! Would you feel secured if your woman makes more than you? |
Re: "Chat Central and Derailer's Paradise"...Welcome! by ronald4lif(m): 12:21am On Jun 27, 2015 |
MrsChima: I agree that most Nigerian men (diaspora inclusive) misconstrue an independent woman as westernised and uncultured. Prolly because she might not have time to cook, wash their clothes and literally become their maid due to her job and exposure. However, there are still men who live with such women and don't deem them a threat to their perceived supremacy. A woman should better strive to becoming independent and self-reliant and damn whatever a man purview her to be. Life is a solo race. It's her life, isn't it?. Let's stay thematic - gender equality should be on balance in the financing of relationship and marriage. Anything short of that would be a brazen attempt to shortchange the menfolk and that would invalidate the equality agenda. |

MrsChima: When you asserted on a thread by a certain stand.d today that Nigerian men are hypocrites and whatnot. With instances on how they can toss sperm on the air but when a woman does same she's tagged a slut. Do you know all Nigerian men?. Come on, be serious and stop this pettiness. I don't have to know every Igbo man to understand that most of us are very money conscious. |

ronald4lif: Women who truly believes in gender equality has no issue with contributing financially in the home as well as other areas. I have made it very clear that not all women supports feminism regardless of its benefits and asked how do you expect the ones who DO NOT SUPPORT feminism behave like feminists? A woman who doesn't support feminism will not do any of those things you have mentioned. They will continue to do what society and culture have conditioned them to do and you will have more men complaining about leeches and their demands. My stance is to get women to.become independent and self reliant. Dependent women depends on men and that what we as true feminists trying to change. I disagree with you on the matter of working women do less cooking and cleaning. I know a woman whose runs a business and take care of her home. I can't say the same for men but that's my ooinion. |

ronald4lif: Everyone who is alive and wants things in life is money conscious. It is not an Igbo thing. I have also said it is my opinion and never claimed it as fact as you and many of your likes. |
