I have been a silent reader on this forum. Kindly advice me on my present situation p
I was married in my home country nigeria, but haven't seen or heard from my wife for years since I arrived the US on a tourist visa 5 years ago. I'm not even sure how to reach her. We never bothered to do the divorce papers. I came to the U.S. and married a U.S. citizen, and we submitted the adjustment of status paperwork for me. But at the interview, the officer sent us away with a letter saying I needed to provide proof that my first marriage ended in divorce, and he also mentioned something about "marriage fraud." But I love my U.S. wife; this isn't a fraud, I just figured my old marriage was over. What's going on?pls what can I do ?

Of course it's fraud. Suddenly you lost contact with your wife in Nigeria and now madly in love with your only hope to residency in America.

Bro lets cut the BS, this is sham marriage and the judge knew that hence the marriage fraud comment.

As it stands you are still married to your wife in Nigeria and living in borrowed time in U.S.

You can't manufacture divorce paper now because it never existed.

Have you checked the marriage law in that state regarding polygamy?

Polygamy not acceptable in the US

Then you haven't covered yourself with any glory.

You have two tough choices.

1. Continue living illegally in U.S.

2. End the sham marriage and return to your wife in Nigeria

well, because pikin get madness no mean say we go disown am.. even thou you deserve beating, i will still advice you. call your wife in nigeria if she's still available and beg her well to forgive you so you can make heaven! secondly, if you look back this thread, you'd see we don't condone fraud or illicit behavior here. for your own good, try to get a job that can file for you or give yourself up to the authority like Obama said sometime ago and pray you find true love there to settle down with but before you do this, ask you wife in Naija to send you divorce papers then sign it so you can free the innocent woman from people like you with sharp horns! i am sure you know that place is not paved with gold now.

good luck and make sure you ask that woman for forgiveness

Hello people. Does anyone know how I can correct a mistake on my form after submission. I made a mistake on my mother in-laws form. I stated 1965 instead of 1963. Her interview is in 2 weeks.

go to the ceac.state.gov website and click retrieve application, from there i'm sure you will know how to navigate through, all her details will come up except travel plans

Thanks @chloe7 we have done that but we then have a new barcode that doesn't match the interview letter. And she won't be allowed in if the barcodes doesn't match.

call the embassy I dropped the number on the previous page, explain to them they will change it to match, if they can't they will tell you you have to pay a new fee, but call first i'm sure they will be able to help

i think all u have to do is to update ur profile with the new barcode. however you will still need the old barcode for ur interview. you will go with the old and the new one. I stand to he corrected

Hello people. Does anyone know how I can correct a mistake on my form after submission. I made a mistake on my mother in-laws form. I stated 1965 instead of 1963. Her interview is in 2 weeks.

In your situation if you call their contact number, they might be able to change the old DS-160 barcode to the new DS-160 barcode which you have filled with the corrected details, meanwhile on the other hand you might be asked to pay a new visa fee which of course you would have to schedule the appointment for a later date!

The best advice I can give you for you to avoid paying a new fee is, tell your mother in-law not to go for the interview, so she will be considered "No-Show" applicants. However her Visa Fee Receipt would be deactivated and will be reactivated back respectively afer two working days of her scheduled appointment!

So therefore you can fill another DS-160 for your mother in-law but this time make sure no mistake is made, upon competing the form log in to the scheduling page update her profile with the new DS-160 barcode and then schedule a new date for her with that same Visa fee receipt no!

Simple as that!

I hope my explanation is helpful!

Cheers!

Please call them. They will ask you to send a mail with the new ds160 number and your passport page. This is so they can change the ds160 nunber on your profile and then you can print a new appointment confirmation. You're not allowed to change it yourself

Please do this by Monday. It takes about 2 or 3days.

Don't do 'no show'. I don't even know how that makes sense. You'll now start looking for a new interview date.

I did the above and it worked just fine for me. They sent me another email when it had been changed and I printed a new appointment confirmation . All that changed was the ds160 number which they had corrected to the new one .

Simple,
Just apply for all of em, and either you or hubby can go with em.
They're minors and will most likely be granted.

call them, calling them is the best, as for the no show, when I went late for my appointment I was given no show and I tried rescheduling after two working days it didn't work with the old receipt no, I called them they said I should go and pay another one and I jejely went to pay another one sharply.
Re: Usa Visit Visa by Nobody: 3:31pm On Jun 28, 2015
Vallyofpeace yes it is normal, when you go to history all the previous appointments will show and the dates and beside it you will see "scheduled"

Hello house, trust you are all doing fine. Here is my case and i want you guys to review and tell me my chances. I was denied US visa in 2013 at Lagos consulate. Though it was my fault because i couldn't answer most of the questions, i got carried away by the beautiful young vo in No.1 cubicle as she interviewed me + no travel history (i used an agent then, but luckily for me i have all the details) no false info whatsoever!

I reapplied this year for june, but was told at the verification desk in Abuja that i was part of the applicant affected by the system glitch. I quickly reschedule another appointment for August.

Here are my Question

1. My appoint for August was successfully reschedule but the previous one for June is still showing in my appointment history as scheduled.

2. For travel history I've been to east Africa twice one visa on arrival and the other i got my visa in abuja. I've also traveled to one of the ecowas country and i have their stamps.

3. I still work with the company i filled in my first US appointment in 2013, but now my pay has risen from 170k + then to 200k + now.

4. Am single, no kids (surely i pray to have my itssy bitssy through wedlock )

5. A friend of mine who is a LPR holder is the one inviting me for a 2 week holiday.

Please what is my chances of getting approved.
the east Africa country no get name, :d lol
