You people look very stu$pid when you continue to post this useless stat. Anambra? Go to Anambra and see people with money...should be number one with huge margin!

I guess $2000 means about 400,000 naira. Are we saying those states in that range don't even hit 500k naira monthly? They must be lying about something.

The following table presents a listing of Nigeria's 36 states ranked in order of their total GDP (PPP) in
2007
.Let's assume this is even correct, why show us GDP of 2007(I mean almost 10yrs ago) and not 2013 or 2014?

whatever you hope to achieve with this nonsense is DOA

Amazed at Imo and Oyo's relatively high rankings, surprised at Anambra's poor showing. Nice to see my home state Delta sitting pretty at third despite our leadership deficit, Imagine how a Delta with quality leaders can expand and grow further.
Rivers, Delta,Edo, Akwa Ibom all in the top 10, South South is not just the goose that lays the golden egg but also the economic nerve outside Lagos, Cross River at 11th, not bad.
If only SS governors could work on the BRACED idea and entrench sustainable development in the region, Okowa,Wike,Udom, Et al should work together
Udom will spring suprises in akwa ibom state. I doubt this list, its debatable. Anambra should be up there. How can borno state have a better GDP than anambra n kwara state? Its impossible.

Most peopke are in Lagos becos of viable seaport in Lagos. One day, the South south or East shall have one then people will export/import goods and sell it at Lagos.

Many nairalanders do not know what GDP means. It is Gross Domestic Product. It is the monetary value of all finished products and services produced within, in this reference, a state's borders within a specified period. What this means is that you aggregate individuals/institutions contribution to production of goods and services and employment plays a big role in this calculation. If your state has high level of unemployment, then you will have quite large number of your people who are not productive and cannot add to the GDP of the state. I am not an economist so I'd like economist in the house to shed more light on this subject matter.

That's why I so much love my state,Anambra... We are always exceptional.. doing extraordinary things........

Anambra at 16th position yet with lowest poverty rate,Highest number of billionaires, Educationally progressive.....rapid infrastructural development....more than most states in top 5....

Possible reason;
May be other States, are keeping their GDPs why Anambra is putting it's own into use.....

Meanwhile I respect the positions of Lagos(no man's land ) and rivers..........

Edo state no 7.....Enugu state no 25?.....well the only reason that can make this possible is the same reason I gave above
........

........quoters..... are allowed.

The GDP has grade the Top Five (5) Richest State In Nigeria, this top five are states that has contributed greatly to the nation economy over the years. Below are the Top Five (5) Richest State In Nigeria 2015

LMAO!

High "GDP" but most of them are owing their workers over 11months salary arrears. LOL

Only in Nigeria that people parade useless and worthless rating that does not have bearing with what is obtained on ground. Imagine saying that a bankrupt state has a higher GDP than economically healthy state. Make una keep playing with figures. Only in Nigeria. cheesy

How can a landlocked state have port?

There's a big difference between being landlocked and having no access to the sea. Most Nigerians think they are one and the same thing. Not true. A massive seaport can be built in Imo and Abia because those states have tributuaries that run straight into the Athlantic Ocean. Even Onitsha has a River port although it is nowhere near what it should be. I will never know how anyone can think that Osun state with nothing can be richer than Anambra that has the the largest industrial base in Nigeria after Lagos. Someone must have been high on drugs when they compiled this list
