Out of embassy to pick up center, In less than 48 hours you should get a text to pick it up at the pick up location

I am currently searching for accomodation but having doubts
There are official off-campus recognized aprtments, the cheapest was for $670/mth, has so many effizy, but saw another which was a 2 bed apartment, contacted the agents if any student wanted to sublease as the price was $1,035 and hopefully if i can get something around $350 (though not discussed price yet) if the bill is split. Though the agent is the one doing the link up, my problem is that the contract is btw me and the tenant, agent said she doesn't wanna be involved only just doing the connection. Kinda wary about that
How is the experience living with a working professional / student, (Is it same as living in hostel on campus ), then the legal aspect (getting scammed)?

which state is that?

1. No two words to describe it, it's SCAM broo.

2. You cant change from visitor (B1 visa) to student (F1 visa) lai lai koo joor

3. If you take the path most of us here have taken, i doubt if you will be spending upto $1000 except for flight.

3. Take your time and go through all the pages on this thread, i promised you, you wont regret it.

4. 1 milla is alot bro unless you have money to waste.. You can go ahead and dash that swindler

You can change a B1/B2 to an F1. Though it could take a lotta time and you might end up denied. Moreover, you've to be in the USA during the application process.
That fee of 1m. Hmmmmm. Serious . Lots of question marks. If she's your friend, Y charge you that much? Mind you, they could deny the whole group @the embassy. Say na white man or say na your whole village go doesn't guarantee success.
And of you've not traveled before, your chances of getting usa visa is slim.
If I'd advise, don't waste your money. Gradually prepare yourself. Take standardised tests. Improve your travel history; take shot trips to dubai, UK, Ghana. Get a job that could give you an embassy letter. Get a good sponsor. This is a better way to invest your 1m.

My question goes to those who have been there:

Anything wrong with gesticulation while one responds to questions from the VO?

I've really been thinking. For me, it tends to be an involuntary action (Sure I'm not the only one with that problem).

Cc: Imperriox, Bigfrancis, Zeezahbee, Msnas, Slimmy, Innovativeme, Stewee.

I did that during my interview... I didn't even look at the VO except when he asked me questions...Looking at VO can be intimidating, not looking at him when I answered the questions helped me articulate my response... I was also leaning on the counter(that took pressure off of my shaking legs) LOL

Good but F1 visa does not need any travel experience. Though sometimes they ask, just to throw you off-balance or measure your home ties.

Hi gurus in the house, a friend already in the US need some advice. She is an MSc student but have had serious financial challenge since the beginning of the year. The problem now is that she is placed on registration hold because she is yet to pay for her Spring term tuition and there is no hope she would get the money before Fall term start this August. She is currently doing an intern and is very confused on what action to take in 2 months time. Is it possible for her to be allowed to remain in US and hustle for cash or she must go back home? Ur response will be highly appreciated. Anyone who has been in same shoe should pls share how s/he handle the situation.

How much does she owe?

How well enough does her internship pay her?

$20k+. She is in an Ivy league and because her GPA hasn't been too good, no assistanship for her. I don't know how much she is paid. I will ask her

Good day everyone. I want to use this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has contributed in this forum. Ve been a silent follower for sometime until now. I ve been making some research about doing MSc in United States and the responses and advice from this forum has really been helpful.
Here is my issue.... am a registered nurse in Nigeria seeking to do my MSc and also practice in the USA and a friend over there told me one of the best way was to come with a visiting visa and as soon as I crossed that the visa can be changed to student visa over there and then I can seek for an admission. I really don't know the possibility of that. I really will appreciate if great minds here can shed more light on this. Thanks.
.... .. She also said a friend would be doing his wedding wt a US citizen so d dude will be traveling with his grooms from Nigeria and he charged 1million to add me as one of his groom and then we go to embassy as a group so that the visa won't be refused I don't know if the price is a fair one or if I ve other option of getting a visiting visa would be cheaper. Thanks in anticipation.

You can actually change status from B1/B2 visa status to F1 status in the US but the denial rate is 90% as you would have to prove without reasonable doubt why you are suddenly changing now that you've gotten to the US and that your change is not premeditated (i.e. not planned from the beginning).

The best thing for you would be to apply for a nursing program directly from Nigeria and enter the US on a student visa, or if unable to get nursing, apply for a related program and switch to nursing on arrival here.

Do not pay anyone 1 million naira for it is scam. Even if you did and you are so-called included, you are only going to get the tourist visa, with which the chances of changing to F1 status here in the US are very slim.

Apply for admission and come here on a student visa.

$20k is quite an amount. Why did she go to such expensive school in the first place knowing she did not fully have the money?

No amount of savings over her internship period can have her save up to that amount. It is ridiculous. Maybe the $20k is for an entire year and not the spring semester only

Thanks for ur response man. Just confirm from her that she owes $17600. It's for Spring alone not for the session. She hoped she would get assistanship during the Spring term but that never happened. Her question is whether it will be possible for her to work this Fall to get some cash and join it with what she has now and then resume by Spring. Just forget about the amount, is it possible for her to remain in US through the Fall term working? Will the school approve that?
