Each community deserves a good road network. Lean purse is not an excuse and the purse might not be lean as we think. Since we did bulk of urban roads last time, reconstruction of rural roads where necessary should begin.

What I mean is Udi rural roads are not only tarred, but are also properly marked, with sidewalks on select routes, despite not being subject to heavy use.
Also, Udi has her fair share of agro-allied industries. Nachi Oil is dead, but the idea that sited it is what I'm advocating.

Lastly, Udi has better-developed tourist sites like Awhum Waterfalls. And it's linked to Ezeagu, Oji and Ozalla by excellent access roads.

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has started building roads. I noticed yesterday that Emene central road is being reconstructed. Many drainages, culverts etc going on, it caused a major traffic jam in Emene yesterday but we dont mind.

Great news!
It will be wonderful to open up new roads into more vast areas of land at Emene, for more planned housing projects and industrial estates to take off in that axis of the city.

As much as I'm delighted that UDI has too good motorable rural roads, I'm very concerned by Tue fact that someone who's elected to govern a whole state, decides to give preferential treatment to his area of origin ahead of others. I agree with you and I also said this here. Its also good that the governor singled out Enugu, Nsukka and Ninth mile to focus on. Is it not silly that people forget that the local govt exists? some LGA Chairmen actually try to do something but they should be made more accountable.
The state cannot do it all.

I really don't get your direction but I will try.
I don't see what's wrong about oko poly being in oko. Awka might be too congested if it were put there, plus rent issues.
Unn is perfect where it is, I am even happy esut left Enugu. Otherwise, aside stress on the available infrastructures including power supply and traffic hold ups, poorer students might not pay rents .

I just want to say that FG allocations are for the whole state not the cities alone. In the case of Enugu, the city has being over embraced, we can actually turn Nsukka for eg into a city, after all there was a time Enugu capital was a complete village.
I went to my village the other time and of not that my dad is an expert driver, we wouldn't have made it. So, Oga, there is nothing wrong in developing a non capital

I think the idea of developing cities first is simply for bragging right else I don't understand how a place that houses less than 20% of the population should be given priority at the detriment of the rural areas. It just goes to show that our definition of development is skewed. The major actor in development is the people and that should be given full priority over anything else.
