Like a terrible dream, Greeks woke up with no money and no certain hope. The entire nation of Greece is in a deep financial mess right now. This is a tough situation! From Athens to Thessaloniki; From Patras to Agrinio, the whole nation of Greece is messed up financially! This is surely one of the most intense situations in Greece history, not counting the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta in 431 BCE. The terrible situation is getting uglier each day as people rush to get their little from ATMs and keep at home before banks completely shut down. "Public sector workers and pensioners might well have to be paid with IOUs as soon as end-July," says Chris Scicluna, head of economic research at Daiwa Capital Markets. They’ll just hold the piece of paper called ‘IOU’ (meaning, I owe you) until there is money to pay them. Click to read full details, and see other photos.… https://www.mazech.com/Greece_is_broke%21

It's patetic how the condition of a country can digenerate to this level without precautionary measures being taken to avert it. |

The falling of the green leaves should sound as warning to the dry ones; Nigeria beware. One day the oil will dry up, and there won't be anything more for the crooks to steal. 1 Like |

Sunnymatey: This is a very terrible situation. They are into deep mess! Greece has been struggling, fighting to recover since the 2008/2009 global crisis, but no way. They quietly borrowed money from different countries and managing not to expose themselves to the public. Now, they 'don chop' all the borrowed money and can't pay back. The whole secret is busted!!!! In tears |

Tsipras Signals Greece May Accept Bailout Terms The Greek government has indicated to its creditors that it is willing to accept many of the terms of a bailout package that it had previously rejected, if they are part of a broader deal to address the country’s funding needs for the next two years, officials said on Wednesday. The development raised the prospect of progress in resolving a financial crisis that has sent shudders through global markets and deeply strained European unity. In a letter sent on Tuesday to the creditors — the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and other eurozone countries — Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Greece was “prepared to accept” a deal set out publicly over the weekend by the creditors, with small modifications to some of the central points of contention: pension cuts and tax increases. Mr. Tsipras linked Greece’s acceptance of the terms to a new package of bailout aid that would need to be negotiated. Protesters supporting the euro and hoping Greece stays in the European Union were outside the Parliament building in Athens on Tuesday. Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany responded by repeating her position that there should be no further negotiations until Greece holds a referendum on Sunday on whether to accept the terms of a previous offer from the creditors — a vote that many European leaders are hoping will amount to a rebuke of Mr. Tsipras. Any further talks are likely to be complex and contentious. An existing bailout agreement expired at midnight Tuesday, meaning that Greece and its creditors would have to start over in assembling a package of aid and budget cuts. Moreover, many European officials remain deeply skeptical about whether Mr. Tsipras’s leftist government would implement the more painful elements of any agreement. The initial responses from European officials to the latest Greek proposal ranged from cautious to dismissive. Valdis Dombrovskis, a vice president of the European Commission who is responsible for the euro, said that the expiration of the old bailout program meant that “we are now in a new situation,” with far worse conditions than before. Greece’s decision to close banks and impose other capital controls, he said, “make the situation much more problematic. Now much more damage has been done and much more effort will be needed to restore the situation.” The European Commission, he said, still hopes for an agreement so that Greece can meet loan payments to the European Central Bank that are due in late July. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/02/business/international/greece-bailout-tsipras.html?_r=0 |

Greece situation looks like a paradox on d Nigeria situation as well. Greece is broke, but somehow, social services (light,n water) are in supply (maybe). Nigeria is not broke, but social services (light n water) etc are non existent and state workers are owed huge back log of salaries. |

If you are rich and in need of international property. Buying a holiday home in Greece right now would be perfect, property prices that side will definitely drop even lower than they are right now. When they finally recover you'll have large pieces of expensive land in Greece. |
