Please if you really want to be employed by any good school, you must work hard on your communication skills. Teaching is about effective communication. Where an applicant cannot communicate very well in the language of instruction, neither teaching nor learning can take place. I interviewed 3 candidates today and I feel so disappointed at the inability of these supposed graduated to communicate their thoughts effectively to a class of JS 1 students. Poor spellings, bad pronunciation, mixing Yoruba expressions with English and bad tenses characterized the presentations. I weep for this country.

For me, I would give it a capital 'No'. Not because it's so wrong, but because it seems unprofessional. Although, employers would prefer a 'mother' to handle such tender class, but definitely not a nursing mother whose attention will be divided. That's the concept of professionalism; work first...

For you to get such a job, you do be ready to convince the daylight outta your employers during that interview. Or chances are that your employers hands may be tied, thus leaving them with no other choice than to settle for you. But whichever way, I'll advice you not to tempt fate.


Let's get this straight, if Avicky got the job despite attending the interview with her baby, that's probably because she's better qualified than every other candidate.
