Yes and that's why i will continue to be advocate for those good men,if everybody speak ill of men who is going to speak up for the good ones?

Who is going to tell these young ladies that there are good men out there and you don't need to always put on your boxing gloves at the sight of one.

There are men who live for their families, who strive to keep them protected and see to their well-being.

Those are the men i celebrate and will continue to do so.

Choose well and stop playing the victim!
I will choose well only if there is any one left that is good - They spread this their virus everywhere they go ,contaminating everything in their path grin grin grin grin

Thank you very much for your honesty. These are what we are fighting for. I am all for check and balances. It is the duty of me and you to try and make these laws come into existence. It's not enough to say it does not affect us. I think it's selfish for someone to only think that something is only worth fighting for only if it affects them. I have never been hungry, my uncles and auntys can all feed their families and most people I know can feed their family but does that mean they are no hungry families? If I started a movement for poverty to end, does that mean I am doing it because I am poor? It is the duty of the enlightened once amongst us to fight for others.

I only said that for reference purpose and that doesn't mean that our women aren't hard working. But let's face the truth a lot Nigerian men work their ass off for their family but ya'll keep painting every Nigerian man bad .Why?

Who's painting Nigerian men black?

The tweets merely state that women in Nigeria still have a long way to go in terms of gaining equality with the men. That's not painting the men black. Can't people say the truth about what they face without it being deemed attack on the male folk? I doubt if I saw some tweets there that were attacking any guys.

When I see unfair generalizations like "all men cheat" "are violent" or "are misogynist" and all those other bla bla bla, I do stand up and defend the men. Coincidentally, you're among those who turn around to fight my opinions on such instances. which makes one wonder if you guys even know why you want or who you are. undecided

Seriously those tweets are nothing but truth and the life of the average Nigerian lady. (There wasn't a meeting planned to tell them what to say was there?)

Because I live in a society where women have as much respect as men, (which BTW was achieved by the feminists we love to hate so much) it doesn't mean that I'll discount the experiences as of my Nigerians sisters as false. After all it was my experience too. No need living in denial. Being in society that respects women doesn't mean I should be oblivious to what happens in my own society. After all If they didn't fight for it here, I won't be feeling so cool now saying I have respect as a woman. therefore those who don't should suck it up and not say anything?

If there is going to be a fair balanced society of male and female equality in Nigeria, then there needs to be a feminist revolution there too.

Let's keep shushing anyone who tries to speak while the little girls keep getting married off in their infancy and rape victims keep getting blamed for being too feminine. Let the battery continue and the ladies continue to grow feeling that it's not feminine to have ambition or goals in life. Let them continue to feel there's something wrong with them because a man hasn't done them the honor of wanting to marry them.
Even though we all know the driving thoughts behind those practices is that there's something lesser about being a woman.

After all feminism is bad. We don't want to identify with it.

Also a big misplaced priority. ..why don't we all carry the feminist movement to the middle east?

You have probably never met a good man all your life
Its like when you girls criticize men you 4get you have fathers, and many of your fathers are worth celebrating

I pray you meet a good man 2day

I don't criticise men. I love them too much, to sit all day cherry picking their faults. What i detest, and most women in this country will agree with me, is the constant berating of Nigerian women, who i see as one of the most 'forgiving' and loving women in this messed up world. They are still holding on to traditions even more than their male counterparts. (I only discovered this not long ago) I may not be qualified for a 'good' man but i know many Nigerian women that 'deserve' better than what they re getting here.

If I decide to use myself as a yardstick,I might sound arrogant. But I want to put it to you that there are females who make their money legitimately from the scratch without having to sleep their way up. Like I come from a family of business people, business, entrepreneurship is our second nature;both male and female and we're proud of it. We don't work for people, but the other way round. So that's how it is with so many other females. In Nigeria maybe a lot of females compromise, but I'd still say a handful of them don't.

I think GEJ tried to do something like that. The bill he recently passed that makes it illegal for one to abandon their kids. All the masses need is enlightenment and knowledge of their rights to let that part of the constitution fight for them.

If not some men will keep abandoning their babies without consequences and those mothers will keep suffering as single moms or dump the babies in gutters and walk away.

When you say enforce child support laws, some people will say feminists want to ruin the world cheesy

That is true. It's a big country afterall. If there weren't such people, then we can't really say we are diverse. Those ones will finally settle their personal matters and go back to where they really belong. cheesy You know some people's view on life and social issues are always colored by what they are going through at the moment. When that moment passes, they shift base. For them, there's no putting themselves in the other person's shoes.. So if they meet a bad dude once, all other dudes must be bad too.

It's just like we have misogynist who hide under religion and other instituted forms of partriachy to be mean to ladies. You can't win them all.

You need to understand something please. Feminism is a belief and a way of life. There will be feminists that are lovely, loud, calm, beautiful, ugly, monsters, intelligent and whatever adjectives you want to use just like there are non- feminists that are lovely, loud, calm, beautiful, ugly, monsters, intelligent and whatever adjectives you want to use. Feminists where first human before becoming feminists so they can exhibit any behaviour that humans can. To answer you question, I would say that it is possible for someone to be both a misandrist and a feminist. The part I don't understand is the hiding part.

how did this rack up to 50 likes? majority of what you highlighted were exaggerated nonfactual proclamations.
I bet 49 of those likes came from females.

besides, that 'driving like a woman' point you made was just out of locus.
women are the fragile eggs that dread anything daring & precarious, ergo, If a man acts effeminate & like a 'pusssy'- the metaphor most likely to be used is - why act like a woman?. It's nothing personal & can't be seen as form of gender discrimination.

even women use this metaphor frequently. I have heard women countlessly saying - why are you acting like woman? or why are you driving like a woman?.

that makes that point null & void.
& lastly, like i have always said, the rate of gender discrimination in Nigeria is vanishingly minute & all ye western wannabe feminists should get a job & quit vying for what is nonexistent. . It's getting irritating .✘

oseod:

The thing you mentioned here are really not serious

I was expecting you to put concrete points that are worth reading like

Difference in male and female salaries on average

Difficulty for women to climb up the ladder in corporate firms (they have to do twice as much to prove themselves)

Horrible traditions like a woman drinking the water used to wash the body of her dead husband, to prove she's not the killer if she survives

Women being forced into marriages and being maltreated
And stuff like that

What you posted are just everyday stereotypes
Even men suffer such stereotypes too

Are you people for real? For goodness sakes this is all for fun. Are you not on twitter? Don't you see that all this is just for humor sakes?

Don't you understand how such hash tags work? Everything is always aimed at humor although mostly to drive a point, but it is still all just for fun.
That's why you see exaggerations of all kind.

Must you guys always be too serious about everything?
