ICAA assessed only some of my post-qualification experience as relevant, which is not up to 3 years, so I'm not claiming points for experience. I opted for visa 190 and got NSW nomination. If you can provide evidence (reference, payslip, etc) of your work experience, you can as well apply for it to be assessed. The difference in fees between a combo assessment (qualifications + experience) and a skills assessment (just qualification) is $100 i.e. $550 against $450. In my case, I couldn't provide some evidence as one of the companies I worked for has been liquidated. pingu2k5:Do you mean accountants can assess only their qualifications and if deemed equivalent... are qualified for PR visa application? I mean if the person can deal without points from work experience or without work experience at all or where evidence of work experience isn't available. Congratulations on ur 190 nomination. |

^^^ Do English test and get assessed by Engineer Australia. When you are done with the two, you are 80% there. |

For All Engineers in Australia, what are the differences between a Professional Engineer, Engineering Technologist and an Engineering Associate? I have the MSA booklet but will like more info. Please the reason i ask is if one wants to apply as a Materials Engineer (SOL list) . How does one know which of these terminologies he falls into? I have a Bachelors in Metallurgy( I work more in the field of Materials and Welding). |

prost80: MSA booklet is the authentic source of information. I don't think there is anything anyone can add to what is in MSA booklet. These are different categories of Engineering personnels with different job functions and minimum qualifications expected in each category. This is similar to what we have in Nigeria namely Engineers,Technologists,Technicians and Craftmen. Professional Engineer minimum qualification is Australian 4Yrs Engineering degree or overseas' equivalent mainly 5years degree/Msc. Engineering Technologist minimum qualification is Australian 3Yrs Engineering Associate degree or overseas' equivalent mainly 4years degree. Engineering Associate minimum qualification is Australian 2Yrs Advance Diploma or overseas' equivalent mainly HND/HNC. |
