not only that, they blatantly refused to honor the adedavoh woman who died in a bid to prevent the Ebola guy from returning to calabar. Btw, national honors were dished out a few days after she died, criminals like slams were honored in that event. I weep for Nigeria. Patriotism and professionalism are not honored, but mediocity and criminality are.

In as much as I don't like past heroes like yekini bin ignored( most esp d events that led up to his death), we must understand that so many civil servants who served Nigeria for 35yrs died out of Govt neglect, some are still in d process of dying sef...They never had d opportunity of earning half of what dis our so called heroes earned in their careers...no life is less important than the other..

Rest In Peace Rashidi Yekini. Yekini remains the man with the highest number of international goals for Nigeria (37). Portugal is remembering him today but in his home country Nigeria, no celebration.

so if the NFF chairman do that ,it will be a crime? Ode,for the next 8yrs,u'r going to be Traumatized by PMB actions, brace up for d hell u put urself into. U'r very mischievous & highly hypocritical, your life is full of deception;u talked as if the last minister of sport under gej remembered Yekini. In d 16 evil yrs of PDP reign, was sam okwaraji remembered. The 'change' we talk about is not meant for pple like u,because Nobody can convince u;already u've an evil mind-set.The only way out for u,is to go back to Biafra.

What are you saying My friend!!!
vedd:
Much as i condemn the government neglect of our past heroes, these sportsmen and entertainers earn much money during their prime and when alive. They should invest wisely and build legacies that will outlive them. Not waiting for government bailout from their challenges after retirement, & monuments after death.

Rashidi Yekini the legend,my parents bought me number 9 jersey when they went to Hajj in '95,i was a lil kid then and I used to tell people I'm number 9 like Rashidi Yekini

God finish work for that hin left foot sha oo. Packed a great shot on that foot; plus his delectable ball control too (the way baba controlled the ball on his chest back then was just outta this world) and what about his off-the-ball movements? None did that better than 'The King' in his hay days. His predatory instincts were arguably second to none on the African continent and even in far away Portugal. A born super goal poacher he was. Best ever to have donned our #9!
