Recently in Nnewi, I was in a commercial bus and the conductor was exchanging words with a passenger who had complained that the bus was over speeding. The angry passenger warned the driver that her family would not spare him if she gets injured. In response, the conductor started barking at the young lady and warned her never to expect any help from the zoo legal institutions. Curious, I asked the conductor what he meant by ‘zoo institutions’ and he advised me to tune in to Radio Biafra 102.1 FM at night. Before then, I had heard about the pirate radio station but didn’t know it has commenced transmission on the frequency modulated band.

That night, I decided to tune in to the station, and immediately I hit the frequency, I heard the presenter, who addresses himself as Nnamdi Kanu (also, Director), shouting on a caller for addressing Buhari as Nigeria’s president. “Stupid black monkey and baboon, will you end this call if you don’t recognise Buhari as a pedophile, a child rapist and terrorist president of the zoo.” Instantly I recalled my conversation with the bus conductor and understood that the zoo he was talking about is Nigeria, an evil slang he must have picked up from the pirate station presenter, Nnamdi Kanu.Another thing I observed on that first day of listening to the station was the overwhelming quantity of falsehoods it propagates. Some of the falsehoods include the continuous aerial bombing of Igbos in Calabar by forces of the Nigerian government and the ordering of joint security forces in Chad to kill Igbos by President Muhammadu Buhari, after his visit to the country.

Subsequent listening to the station revealed it as having agents who regularly call during its live interactive programmes to disseminate false stories. It is really sad that some misinformed people take the falsehoods of the pirate radio station seriously. The recent protest of market men and women in Onitsha over the alleged transfer of Boko Haram prisoners to Anambra State was catalysed by a broadcast of the pirate station a day before the protest, in which it alleged that President Buhari has ordered the massive transfer of detained Boko Haram fighters to Anambra State to kill many Igbos.

The alarming thing about Radio Biafra is that it is fast gathering the support of less educated Igbos, such as commercial motorcyclists, bus drivers and conductors, as well as local market men and women, who can be easily deceived by the station’s falsehoods. If the station is not urgently checked it can endanger the peace and security of Igbo land and Nigeria in general.

Igbos should note that the greatest enemy they have now is Nnamdi Kanu, who stays far away in well secured London, and delights in inciting his people towards bloodshed, against their fellow compatriots, and the Nigerian state. No sane individual can afford to promote hatred between his brothers and other compatriots in the fundamentally interlinked global village that we live in today. Also, anyone who means well for his brothers and sisters cannot afford to activate violence and bloodshed in his homeland, which if allowed will definitely lead to the massive loss of lives and property. It also baffles me how a person who claims to love his brothers and sisters will come on air and make careless statements that can lead to the destruction of the businesses and livelihoods, shops and property of Igbos outside Igboland. Is he on drugs or insane?

It is no longer news that Igbos are mostly international business men and women, so a person like Nnamdi Kanu and Radio Biafra advocating for the destruction of Igbo property abroad and the relocation of all Igbos to Igbo land in this era of a global village must be confused. If Nnamdi Kanu believes that no one can make it and prosper outside Igbo land, what is he doing in London? Why can’t he come back to his home state, Abia to ‘progress’? It is unfortunate that some misinformed Igbos are even donating money to him. What a fraud! It is quite clear that the fraudster is fast exploiting misinformed fellows to his benefit. It is even funny that he has disowned all Igbo socio-cultural organisations and appointed himself commander-in-chief. The manner at which he abuses fellow Igbos and blacks, who he regularly calls “black monkeys and baboons”, show that he is nothing other than a racist; if other leaders abuse their followers in such manner, then what sort of leadership will that be?

The federal government and the international community should note that the pirate Radio Biafra is a pending disaster and if urgent measures are not taken to end its activities, it can metamorphose into the media wing of a terrorising group sharing an ideology of hatred and bloodshed with the Islamic State (IS).

Igbos should note that Nigeria has come to stay, so instead of wasting their time and energy in a wild goose dream of secession, they should support other nationalities and groups in building a stronger, more united and better Nigeria. The federal government and the international community should also make necessary efforts to track down, arrest and prosecute the director of the pirate radio station, Nnamdi Kanu, for inciting violence, bloodshed and attempting a crime against humanity.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

My take on the issue is...

Many folks in the East like to blame Nigeria for the lack of development and somewhat assume it's peculiar to them alone.
NIGERIA has federal, state and local governments. Each of this arms of government receives allocation. If you'd assess how much your state has received since 1999 it runs into TRILLIONS, you'd know that our leaders are the source of our predicaments.
No matter how many countries you create, as long as you have that corrupt element as leader, development would always be a dream.
No country is perfect make the best of what you have. My state isn't the best, and I know if my States governor was good things would have been better long before now.
I know lots of Igbos don't like Fashola but if all Eastern Governors were like him don't you think the development you are calling for would have been fulfilled long before now?

EMMM. I know some say Fashola is corrupt (I don't dispute that), the point of emphasis here is his activities.

Let's tell ourself the truth, Radio Biafra is educating walahi.. If our Radio Stations are doing there work and feeding us with educating programs like this radio Biafra we won't be tuning and listening to what Nnamdi Kanu is saying. But till then, Radio Biafra is not a Pirate Radio station..

Is it that some people don't want anyone to leave nigeria?

If people feel they are better off out of Nigeria why hold them back. I feel that Kalu guy, is just being bold a lot of people believe in what he is doing.

Ibos are wasting their time and inviting destruction to the progress they have made. No advanced country of serious country will support that a part of the country break away like is currently happening through a war, they will neither fight on your behalf nor pay for it nor pickup the Ibo refugees! Nigeria's immediate neighbours are the most impacted and neither Cameroun nor Benin Republic have a problem with Nigeria, they will not use their resources to take care of a people who have it better in life in every way currently! The world struggled to cope with the killings in Biafra in 67 - 70, imagine what it would be now when all Nigeria needs to do is to destroy anywhere with high populations and they could be beating the 3 M dead in 67 - 70 in 6 months or less! Imagine a napalm bomb attack on Onitsha market or markets in Abia? Imagine an attack on the millions of Ibos who live outside of iboland, who will protect them? The army and Nigerian Forces will be way too busy to have the time to care about an unfortunate Ibo in any part of Nigeria who has been attacked.

Is this what Ibos want? Do you have enough weapons and money to buy the weapons? Unlike 67, all borders are controlled by Nigeria, how will you bring in weapons? How will you ship in armoured tanks, fighter jets and heavy ordinance? How about food, one of th major reasons Biafra lost an entire generation of children and women? Note, Nigeria will neither feed you for free, pay nor let you be fed by vegetables, grain or meat that originates from the tightest corner of the country. You will not be able to import it too as not even a fly with destination Biafra will be allowed in Nigerian airspace!

What is your offensive plan or do you plan to play defense from the beginning to the end? Biafra's offensive capabilities will be severely limited if any! Attacking any immediate Nigerian state will turn even neutral citizens of those localities around you to ferocious enemies who will rat you out, provide unmatched forward deployed attack bases for NA from every side and you can imagine several parallel pincer movements that will tear the already small iboland to pieces within a short period of time, the borders closed, nothing gets out and only death comes into Biafra daily!

Unlike 1970, Biafra will not be allowed to surrender! Imagine that disaster, the very same reason WW2 was so destructive and killed so many people! Nigeria will capture and kill all Biafra secessionists, their supporters and commanders. This is a cause - effect situation and I hope you people think hard and well now and not let emotions get in the way clouding sound judgement.

Ibos will never be allowed in the SW at least regardless of the outcome of the war ever again! Nigeria will not allow Ibos have any minor stake in the affairs of Nigeria ever again, Ibos shall be a conquered people in practice and reality. This is regardless of the outcome of the war as you will be vanquished to the hilt! I have heard some Ibos talk about dual citizenship / residency with Nigeria; it is stoopid talk that will never happen! A war is easier to start, but cannot be stopped until millions are dead, billions of naira properties are destroyed, yet the losers (Ibos) shall be a conquered people only short of being put in physical chains. Nnamdi Kalu lives and enjoys the life of London while goading you to your own destruction! His children do not live in Biafra! Ojukwu a man that supposedly had at least 1 full day of military training failed terribly, what will Kanu that lives hundreds of KM away do better? Ibos have got self a destruction death wish and except they beat a retreat back to their senses, they are about to be whooped back to before the Stone Age or before they ever existed!!

This is silly write up. Although he entitled to his opinion, it is most disgraceful that an Igbo man like him has adopted the slave ideology of "one Nigeria". He is an Igbo man by blood but a Nigeruan by what? Oh! I because Lord Lugard told him so! I listen to Radio Biafra now and again and while Kanu can be criticised for his choice of words, there is no mistaken his message of self determination. I'm far more interested in the progress of my fellow Biafrans towards emancipation than I am about Kanu's symantics. This Chukwuemerie guy is just a hopeless Igbo slave because I'm quite sure that if Lord Lugard had never come to West-Africa, Chukwuemerie would have never gone to Britain to look for Lugard to come and give him Nigeria. Talking about bloodshed and loss of Igbo investment like a coward. No amount of investment is worth the enslavement of Igbos and only a coward decides not to fight for their freedom it could mean death. Radio Biafra is not the problem here, it is the oppressive Nigerian state that is the problem and f00ls like Chukwuemerie are the problem of Igbos.

So why do we have to kill each other? Why can't we just shake hands, wish each other luck and go our different ways? Is killing each other for the sake of the White mans creation called Nigeria really worth it? Nobody can force anybody to be a Nigerian. Nigeria is going disintegrate and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Nigeria is a fraud and it is time that Africans went about finding their own countries instead of killing each other for the one the White man created for us because this is indeed very f00lish.

I will agreed that to an extent South East were been marginalized but sincerely not as much as the South South where Nigeria income comes from, We Nigerians love blaming someone else for our problem, we blame colonial masters for our backwardness after so many years of independent. As someone mentioned on this post all the state have government and local government, have we ever questioned our immediate government on how the fund is being manage.

Truly Nnamdi Kanu didn't know what is at stake here, Ibos are very industrious and they have businesses all over Nigeria, if by any means the illiterate his preaching too make attempt to attack any foreign tribe in Ibo land, other tribes might be force to retaliate on their kinsmen in various state as well.

Ibos we be more at the receiving end if the chips are down, Nnamdi Kanu should have been broadcasting better initiatives that we ensure development in the south eastern states, rally round the political elite to ensuring the Ibaka seaport is completed, mend porous border so that made in Aba goods can be patronized.

There are lots they can do than in sighting hate speech, that will bring the people of South East no good but evil

I enjoyed reading your points, so let's talk.

Can you please define the enslavement you mentioned? And slave ideology?

I guess almost all countries in the world are enslaved and running a slave ideology?

The main point of any man who wants to truly develop his people is to enlighten them on how to develop themselves. And not cursing, hurling insults at every perceived enemy. Biafra can be the solution... We are talking reforms, economic agenda, new ideologies, and others.
Hitler said... The masses are swayed by emotional argument while intellectuals by rational arguments backed by facts and concrete steps.
Loads of African countries were products of colonialism and I am sure virtually all of them have a high level of self determination.
I ask what does the Igboman want that Nigeria is depriving him of?

The white man as you call them, came down and conquered Africa not because he was strong but because Africans were too bone headed to realize that No Man is an Island. So what if a White man made Nigeria? Didn't they make cars, planes, drugs, and others? Why not jettison them all?
We shouldn't have to fight for its existence or die for it. But it's worth living for.
Biafra reminds me of the biblical prodigal son. Tread softly... No Igboman has ever been harassed in My presence and none will.
Ask your self in what way has Nigeria stood in your way and ambitions?

You still don't understand do you? Yes the White man made many things like Airplanes and Cars etc and I can jettison any of the things "if I want to". I'm sure the White will come to force to use any of these things if I don't want to use them but if I as an Igbo man say I don't want Nigeria any more, all hell breaks loose. It is the integral right of the Igbos to decide if they want Nigeria or not and if we do not Nigeria, everybody must respect our right of choice and let us leave in peace. It is trying to hold people down against their will that has caused every war you have ever heard of.

You can’t drop bombs on civilian populations during war time; it’s against the GENEVA CONVENTIONS. If Nigeria was to do what you say, it would be invaded by the United Nations.

You want to know what Nigeria is depriving the Igbo man? In one word, "sovereignty". I'm an Igbo man, why are my affairs be conducted in a strange land called Abuja? Why do I have to go through a Yoruba and Hausa man before I can ever be president? Why do I not have an "Igbo contitution" that is reflective of who I am? Why do I not have the right fiscal and economic policy I want? The answer to all these question is "Nigeria". Nigeria has robbed me of my right of choice, my sovereinghty, self rule and my autonomy. Biafra will restore all these rights and privileges that were stolen by the White man as he created the fraud of a nation called Nigeria.

You are talking nonsense from top to bottom. The message here is freedom because without it, you're life is worthless.

Virtually all you've mentioned is all about governance. I ask... Are there no sub-division among the Igbos? There are... Not all Igbo languages are entirely the same... Some even differ in beliefs, gods, taboos, etc. The same complaints you raised will still come up. You may end up with Biafra North, and Biafra South.. Or whatever name y'all may choose to call it. Bit the fact is whatever faction you find yourself, you'd need the support of others to rule.
No group is unified above problems, we are only to think otherwise. To truly test the strength of your group, all you need do is introduce power and all will reveal itself. If a "president" of Biafra is to be elected, what part of Igboland would he come from? Now it is at this stage you'd hear all sorts of funny/annoying stories of how some Igbos aren't the real Igbos and whatnot.
Power struggle brings the worst of people. In Nigeria, this just comes up easily.

Let's be sincere (I think you've been so far). Can you vote Nnamdi Kanu as your governor?
And if the guy feels he can led his people to better life can't he contest for governorship and test his abilities and popularity?

As Nigerians whether North, West, East or South, we have the tendency to pursue the easier but often poorer decisions in life.

And besides... Name one man in the East who you feel has the ability to lead Nigeria and is largely supported in the East. I haven't one... Best I've seen isn't even a man. And she's late.

Freedom? Hmmm don't see no chains, neither physical nor abstract.
