Stewee:Same thing happened to me, In fact, they didn't ask me any question at all nor search my bags. I was wondering and asked the security guy, that where is the check point. He said for me to be here then am done. I sharply used his phone to call my uncle. The guy at Doha's voice sound feminine and the way he looked at me while he reached for my passport was suspicious. But he didn't ask me anything still. I guess some people just look naturally suspicious. |

@Bigfrancis21 who are those allowed to carry along with them their credentials when travelling to the US?[/quote] those with visiting visa Those comeing for F1, J1, M1 visa and immigrant visas. As a visitor its not like you are not allowed to carry, it shows suspicion on your intended purpose of visit. Its better its in your luggage. |

slimmy05: Work's good. Its a long weekend, thanks to July 4th. My roommates and I had a little celebration at home. We grilled chicken and sausage rolls using the family grill, fried plantains and made hot dogs out of the sausage rolls with bread, together with soda. July 4th fireworks were all over the place near my house last night. Persevere. Its summer and the best time to make some good money. I know how that feels. I was promoted recently at my job (with salary increase) hence I need not work extra long hours. 3 Likes |

You are allowed to carry your credentials with a tourist visa just have a good explanation for doing so. However, you may not even need to explain yourself if you're not transiting abu dhabi (i.e their CBP officers are particularly strict). JFK CBP officers dont grill you like that.. |

innovativeame: It is not illegal to carry your credentials. Everybody going to the US can carry their credentials if they want. But if travelling on certain kinds of visas such as tourist visa, it is best to stash the certificates away from human sight to avoid arousing unnecessary suspicion. Its best to leave your certificates in your box, which is checked in at MMIA Lagos, and which you won't see again until you land in the United States. Carrying your certificates in your hand and travelling on a tourist visa may predispose you to easy scrutiny by the border agents. |

bigfrancis21:All these Nigerian guys here are just after the money, they all went to work and I followed suit considering the increase in minimum wage to $10/hr. Men I usually enjoy cook out here as I get to eat enough. I just had to stop cos I was putting on weight, my clothes were suffering. Imagine from W33 to 34. That's good to hear. slimmy05: I put on a bit of weight sometime in May which I noticed and cut down on my rations and number of times I eat in a day. I cook a lot at home and as we speak I have chicken stew with turkey, beans and ripe plantains, ogbono soup with okporoko and beef, fried chicken, curry stew and white rice in my fridge! I also have bread, eggs, fruits, candies for dessert, peak milk (yes peak milk! I buy peak milk here in Maryland), hot chocolate, bananas etc. I cook fried rice every now and then and often cook fried rice and jollof rice intermittently. Dem don use my fried rice sabi me for work o. One time I took fried rice to work and during break I was eating it. Men, the odourlicious aromatic aroma permeated the whole office. My Nigerian colleague at work stood up o and started looking for where this smell was coming from only for her to come to my desk and she shouted 'Jesus oh its you that's eating this food!'. She immediately got hungry and went for her break immediately to go and eat. My boss equally came around and peeped at my food in amazement. Chai. I laugh die that day. I was the center of attention that day. A bia na nni, si wepukwalu m aka o. 7 Likes 1 Share |

bigfrancis21:Wow, I don't have the strength to, my uncle's wife wants to strangle me with food, I usually sneak out to escape eating. I constantly eat "abacha" and "akede beans and corn", I love it. I hate adding weight, I want to remain slimmy . I struggled to drop from 98kg to 80kg 1 Like |

pcbo:We have lots of Ghanaian and am sure they will put you through. YouTube plus few friends around got me going. I am the last in my family so I really didn't send cooking as a chore, though I left the house at a very early age on my own. Its nothing, you'll find it easy when you come here. |
