NFF is set to axe Vincent Enyeama as the captain of the Super Eagles if the recommendations of the disciplinary committee is to be adhered to and CSKA Moscow’s Ahmed Musa is likely to be the new captain.

A top official of the NFF had earlier revealed that: “The federation is not happy with the Eagles captain. And I am sorry to say if the leadership decided to follow the recommendations of the disciplinary committee to the letter, then maybe Vincent Enyeama may have played his last game for the Super Eagles.

“Even if he is recalled to the national team, he may no longer wear the captain’s armband because the NFF view his actions before and after the game against Chad as bad example for other players, also he didn’t show up for the disciplinary committee hearing.”

The official added: “You see what has happened to Keshi, it’s the disciplinary committee’s recommendations so if Enyeama escaped their recommendations, then it must be a divine intervention.”

To this end, it is understood that Ahmed Musa has been lined up to be the next captain of Nigeria when Vincent Enyeama is eventually stripped off the captaincy.

The CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa led the Super Eagles when they faced South Africa in a friendly earlier this year.

The former Flying Eagles star made his international debut against Madagascar in 2011 in Calabar and he has half a century of caps now.

Musa has been a regular in the national team, his comportment on and off the pitch has also been exemplary and commendable.

At only 22, he will be one of the youngest players ever to lead the country’s team.

Someone air his views n they said he is indiscipline. All nigerians saw hw dat kaduna pitch was, we nearly lost that match if no be God.

Tribalism in our football is a no no to me ...Musa has been patriotic player of the national team and I see no reason why he shouldn't be the captain. He is a very good player with exceptional discipline... He is one of the most senior disciplined player we have now so whether northerner or not, Muslim or not, I support him as the SE captain.
