Governor Rauf Aregbesola received wild cheers from his people today in Osun state while driving to his office few hours ago in a convoy. While some citizens gathered for a rally earlier today to support the governor's impeachment, the governor was well greeted by his supporters on the streets of Osogbo. Mehn.... Look at how wide and smooth the road is.... The man must have really touched their lives.... Afterall, schools are free and he still feeds their children in schools. He also created over 40,000 jobs for people who had lost all hope....not to talk about the graduates who would normally get some jobs anyway. So, yes....they should praise him....they really should...even if it's because of the relative peace and calm in the state so far. Having said that....please is it not sheer wickedness to be driving a convoy of SUVs and using air condition when you have not paid hungry workers salary for 7 months? AregbeSola...fear Allah...cos you will be questioned on the day of judgment...don't say God understands... yes, God understands that your state is broke and you cannot pay everyone at the same time...but God also understands that the money you use to feed yourself daily can pay atleast one poor widow's salary... didn't you think of that? remember the story of Sayiddina Umar (ASW) as he leader.....he would always go round the homes every evenings, under disguise...just to find out who amongst his people was totally in despair... ...one day..he found a woman cooking while her 3 kids were fast asleep...s he passed bye, he heard her say "God...you know i am a widow and you left me in th ehnds of a leader who does not care about my plight"...Sayyidina Umar was shocked at what he heard and returned to the woman..."what's wrong, what has the leader done to you?" and she told him how dejected in poverty she has been with her 3 children since widowhood...then he asked her..."so what are you cooking and why are they sleeping?" well.... she said... I have been cooking for hours now and they slept waiting for the food to be ready, hoping i wake them up when food is done. Then Umar asked "but what are you cooking that takes so long" and she said... "thanks to the leader we have, I only have a stone in that pot of boiling water" that is all I can do to give hope to my children... Sayyidina Umar broke down in tears, wondering what his purpose was if this amount of suffering could go on under his leadership...well, the rest was history as he quickly intervened. Idiotz do not understand that the purpose of government and governance is to serve the people. The payment of salary is simply a consequence of that. In other words, civil servants and other public are there to serve the people. I am not surprised that aregbesola is very popular. Only those on ground will understand. There may be 60 teachers in a school out of which maybe 50 are not happy because of delayed payments. However, in that same school, there are 1000 happy parents because their kids are being fed a good meal everyday . 10 Likes |
