HFK: Yes my original Passport, but I lost my birth certificate years ago so I had to get another from the Portsmouth registry office, this is an official document however shows as a copy of the original birth certificate, I hope this makes sense. Even though I am married and have my marriage certificate, I was divorced in 2013, will I need to also submit my absolute? Its just this was kept by the Ikoyi registry office. Will my husband need to submit our marriage certificate in Lagos, or will I be the one to submit it with my documents, as I have it here in the UK with me, since I needed it to change my name etc on driving license and banks etc. Kind regards |

justwise: Great thank you for getting back so fast, I hope this will be all we need, I will be adding to them of course for the coming months. Kind regards Karen |

Portsmouth86:Good to note that you are been straight forward and truthful at this point. YES please, you need to submit the original of your ABSOLUTE together with your marriage certificate, cos this document are subjected to verification. Your original British passport is okay as proof of your status in the Uk. Please What do you mean by KEPT by the Ikoyi registry office?. 1 Like |

HFK: Thank you, I have nothing to hide, I was married at 20yrs old in 2007 through till 2013, (luckily we had no children, he made me have a miscarriage) it was a violent marriage so I separated from my ex husband in 2009, however he made it somewhat difficult to get a divorce, but I did it, and I fought back, I never imagined I would ever find happiness again, but here I am I had to submit my decree absolute to the Registry office in Ikoyi as proof of being free to marry, which I didn't get back. I can get a copy from the court here in Portsmouth, should this be ok? Thank you again, stay blessed |

Hello Everyone! It's been 2 weeks since my wife got a decision email from UKVI and it says the passport would be dispatched within 3-5 days. She has not yet received an email from TelePerformance for collection, is this normal or do you reckon she should go to their office and find out since they have no phone numbers to reach them on. |

@Benuromi, Do you mind me asking you this question? regarding your supporting documents, did they post it to your sponsor in the UK or they sent it together with your passport to Nigeria? |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by girlfio: 3:45pm On Jul 07, 2015 |
paparazzom: If it's not too much of a journey, I would advise that your wife goes down there along with a copy of the email stating that the passport will be dispatched. It's not unreasonable to expect that it should be ready for collection at this stage. |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by paparazzom: 5:15pm On Jul 07, 2015 |
girlfio: Thank you girlfio. My wife actually went there today and, lo and behold her passport was given to her with shiny visa on it. I'm so grateful to God and this wonderful forum without you it wouldn't have been possible. A big thank you to everyone that have contributed on this forum. I will share the timeline later on. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hey guys! hope you are all good. As promised, here is my wife's UK spouse visa timeline. After doing a lot of googling I came across this wonderful forum so I went through it from page 1 to 119 I think. After gathering all the informations I needed, I decided to apply. May 4th: I filled the online application for her here in the UK, paid the fees with my bank card, submitted it, then printed out the copy. I sent the printed application along with supporting documents to my wife in Nigeria(I didn't realise I had to send it to Sheffield myself) I also booked her biometric day to may 18th at Ikeja. May 18th: She did her biometric and was also interviewed on skype. she was also told that the supporting documents should be sent to Sheffield. May 19th: She received an email from UKVI stating that they have received her application and that they would send another email after they have made a decision. June 17th: I received a phone call from a guy asking me to attend an interview in Cardiff on June 22nd regarding my wife's spouse visa.(I was so excited) I went through my wife's application form, memorised where we got married and date, her parents names and date of birth, where my wife was born, her address, and how we met. Jun 22nd: I was interviewed on skype by one nice guy. He asked me a lot of questions e.g how I met my wife? how I met the financial requirement? Accommodation and my job. (I was so relaxed) He told me after that, that was the quickest interview he has ever done that a decision would be made as soon as possible June 23rd: My wife got an email that a decision has been made and should expect the passport within 3-5 days. Well she never received an email or text message from NonPerformace for collection so I asked my wife to go there and find out what's going July 07th: She went down to there office and showed them the email she got from UKVI. Anyway she got her passport with visa on it. Happyyyyyyyy 2 Likes |

newbie715: Aww no, I'm sorry to hear that, i hate it when they drag their heels My documents are just about done now, I just need to add the additional months up till when hubby applies, due to finances of the fees we are applying in early November, I am working a lot of overtime over here, some crazy hours I even done 60 hours extra on top of my standard 38.5 hour weeks in June alone,(on nights too ) it will be worth it in the end though Thinking of you |
