I know. I'm wondering if this can be done/transfer by myself with my CP?
Could you please refer me to the procedures or step by step guide on how to go about the changing domain within my CP?

Thanks
It's Simple. You Could Use Dns Forwarding Or Refer To Your Hosting Provider For More Details

ZinoFego:
My fellow webmasters,

I want to teach you from the scratch how to develop a website using the most popular CMS_ Joomla.

I accidentally stumbled on Joomla some years ago; a client demanded a site requiring storing and retrieving data. I looked everywhere for who to teach me, I spent some good cash yet there were no results until I met a guy who casually showed me the prospects of Joomla and I learnt it on my own!

You may want to know, on what authority or experience I want to teach Joomla. Well, I've been using Joomla to develop websites for over 5yrs now and within this period; I've done over a hundred websites with Joomla only. During the course of the class, if requested, I'll give URLs of some of the sites I've done with Joomla.

Joomla is quite very easy to learn and deploy. Within 3hrs, you can get a Joomla site moderately running. So you don't need to be an experienced website developer to learn Joomla, newbies can deploy a Joomla site within a day.

Requirements to be in this class? None! Anyone who can read this post here and is willing to learn Joomla, can grasp it.

So lets get started...

Table of Content:

1. Overview of Joomla.
2. Installing Joomla in a few steps
3. A tour of the backend (Administrator Panel)
4. Global Configuration of the backend
5. Creating Content
6. Menus
7. Components
8. Modules
9. Plug-ins
10. Templates
11. User Manager
12. Media Manager
13. Languages
14. SEO & SEF
15. Security
I need more explanation on two things.

#1: What are the functions of webhost?
#2: Without advertisement, buying things etc on a website... How do site owners make money --- I mean direct money to bank account just like 'surfing the internet' (E.g twitter, punch, sports etc)

Don't mind the questions, it is because I'm a newbie in site building. Thanks.

#1. Webhost houses your website resources so when someone accesses your website address, the webhost recall your website content for the user to view and interact with.

#2. You can offer training, affiliate marketing, donation...etc.

It is very likely that your installation files are not complete. Download a fresh copy of Joomla and try again.

Re: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ZinoFego: 7:20am On Jul 07, 2015
Sorry about that, never knew the problem still persist.

Over a week ago, I posted some links to some pages where related issues were discussed in the main Joomla website forum but I guess Nairaland's bot deleted them because I can't find them now.

Alternatively, please install Joomla 3.x and let's see if the problem will persist.

I experienced a similar error in the past, you should change the SENDER EMAIL to an email address of your domain name. That is, you should use an email such as sms@ugmobileservices.com as your SENDER EMAIL.

If that does not work, then talk to your host.

2. Installing Joomla in a few steps

There are very simple ways to install Joomla, in fact there are basically two ways to install Joomla.

1. Download a copy of Joomla from http://Joomla.org and install it on your computer offline or on an online hosting server. In plain terms, lets refer to your hosting server as your website running online.
2. Install Joomla directly into your online website using script installer in the control panel of the site.

For the sake of time, I'll talk more on 2. Install Joomla directly into your online website using script installer in the control panel of the site......... and also the later part of option 1. i.e. installing downloaded Joomla files into an online website. The reason is, installing Joomla on your computer to run will require you yo install and configure a local server like Apache, install PHP and Mysql. You can download AMMPS (a software stack from Softaculous enabling Apache, Mysql, MongoDB, PHP, Perl, Python and Softaculous auto-installer on a desktop.) from http://www.ampps.com/downloads and install it in your system. I'll talk about developing a Joomla site offline much later in this course.

This Course will teach you the latest version of Joomla which version 3.1.

So lets go to....

1. Download a copy of Joomla from http://Joomla.org and install it on an online hosting server (online website)

hello boss, great work you are doing here....i am trying to install joomla..i have done everything ,but it has been stuck on this page(view screenshot) for like 30mins now...is it normal?
