To the best of my knowledge, Stanbic doesn't specify in the emails sent out for ASSESSMENT invites (Of course, I stand to be corrected). So if you've applied for multiple roles, you might have issues knowing which one you are being called for. When you pass the test and you are being invited for an interview, they will specify by then the role you are being considered for.

Not sure about rescheduling because these guys barely respond to emails. You can ring them up to give it a shot but on the other hand, start making plans to come down to Lagos for the test.

Guys just read that STANBIC posted a pre tax loss of 53 percent and a 16 percent increase in operating expenses. In their just released Half year financial statement This news dnt sound good for us prospective recruits. Companies would rather downsize than embark on massive recruitment with such results. I pray d results dnt hamper our chances. I will also advise dat we should be realistic in our expectations henceforth.

I got my interview invite today for the position of businss banker. I wrote my test on 5th june. BTW, was this a co-incidence or what! This morning, I sent a mail to @18wheeler to help me enquire about my status. I got no response from him but the interview mail came in this evening. The interview is to hold @ a branch on the mainland, with two people listed as contact persons (I suppose these are HR persons rather than the interviewers-to-be). The mail says 'Stanbic IBTC invites you for an interview'. Now, what baffles me is if this will also include exco chat, considering that it's holding @ a branch. Also, since interviews usually hold at the head office, how likely is it that this same branch where I'll be interviewing is where I will resume if given the offer? House, your contribution is needed, please.

Though I have not seen the report and that of last year for comparison, I believe we have every reason to be positive as they will need people to generate new businesses to turn around the situation. Analysis of the trend may have shown the management that the fortunes of the bank is nosediving and there is urgent need to reverse same. Afterall they have a good brand to capitalize on and other sister companies of the group are leaders in their respective sectors. No wonder they are particular about Business and Personal bankers. There is even a new advert for Business and Personal Bankers of between 2-5 years banking experience. And when these businesses are generated they will need enquiries officers, asset custodians and Head, Service Support etc to attend to them.

In effect, let's all be positive as this recruitment may be a strategic plan by the bank to turn around the fortunes of the bank.

@Akynwale, I have not been on this forum for several weeks now, I'm occupied with a better job and more rewarding than what I would have done at Stanbic. To the case of rejection after medicals, I inquired from the guy handling our recruitment and he told me that they proceed with 2 to 3 candidates for my role and the final decision is taken by the main ResourcingUNit. What 18Wheeler said is far from the truth on some sickness and not revealing. wish u d best and hope you clinch the job.

If it's in a branch. then its likely not exco chat and you may end up in the branch. is it not OK with you? then request for a relocation to your preferred location though I doubt it will be granted. your preferred location may have no vacancy so you are considered for another. More so, is it likely that the recruitment process will be faster than usual since a branch where there is a need has specifically been identified? (Also looking like there is real urgency since the branch is the one interviewing in this case).
