I'm not surprised , it's going to continue falling until we start developing our country and start producing other products for exportation and stop depending on just oil. 6 Likes |

Why are you people so daft? What was the bank rate before may 29, what is it now? You'll notice the difference is less than 4 naira per dollar. The black market is what's causing the confusion because new CBN directives means shortage of dollars in circulation. The economy is steady and all those shouting Buhari this, Buhari that are just plain illiterates! 8 Likes |

anonimi: If GEJ was still in charge....the naira will still be falling. That is why I keep telling you Nigerians....oil producers are not strong nations. The minute oil prices drop.....that prosperity looks like a Potemkin village Time for Nigerians to get off oil. And if PMB does not actively begin that process...then out he goes in 2019. 2 Likes |

osaslord500: PDP how market. When we had oil money....your heroes in PDP spent it like there was no tomorrow. And you PDPians refused to end our share the oil money economy. So....why are you blaming Buhari? It is your party's fault that we are in this mess...and it is going to take more than one month to fix it.Industries and power supply don't get sorted out in a month. And before you go there.....PMB is not my hero. Nor is PDP.All i care about is Nigeria and Nigerians. If PMB does not end our dependency on oil....which you PDPians failed to do...then out he goes. I am watching. 4 Likes |

Where did the op get his converter from? Was it in black market or bank? I thought it was #196.79. in bank. Just Google western union converter and see what Naira is trading in any currency in the world. I think this is made up |

bushdoc9919: I presume you are NOT a Nigerian, right Jonathan started reviving our economy and diversifying away from oil as per the small sample on the 15 pages below: https://www.nairaland.com/2117791/achievements-jonathan-sambo-administration-pictures We need to be WATCHFUL that the new megida tenant of Aso Rock does not CANCEL these policy initiatives as he is wont to do. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2087214_buharimetro_jpeg0139273fe26a1325be266ba40c34a836 Otherwise we will change back to the PAST with systemic failure making it WORSE that will wipe away all the gains under Jonathan. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2095210_worst_jpeg588f192a23aa02a7b350a8bbe5d18306 2 Likes 1 Share |

Johnnoo: We don't need another bailout. We need strong austerity measures...with a focus on spending on electricity, roads and railways and an end to corruption...so that we can get into industrial development....and then we can say bye bye to resource dependency. Agriculture or oil will not save us. Using our hands will save us. 3 Likes |
