Hello dear vo.i have been following this thread as a silent reader.
My question doesn't have to do with Nigeria embassy but that of Ghana embassy.
The cos in Ghana embassy have been refusing spousal visas for majority of people. They are playing with the life's of people thinking every relationship is not genuine.
There is even a case where a Co denied a woman even when she had a lot of bona fide evidence including children(with us passport) with the petitioner.
its getting out of hand and I want to use this forum to see if there is a way to report to the high authorities about this unfair acts by some Cos because I think they are hurting families and breaking homes apart.

please...I m making this inquiry on behalf of my friend ..he is really worried.....he applied for a US visa last year but he was denied....then he reapplied this year......
he tried filling a new DS-160 form with the same system and it automatically retrieved his previous information.... and his information is still the same....it need not be altered....so he clicked submit and used it to book for an appointment this year....
he has got few days to go for his interview only to find out that the date of completion wasn't updated and his barcodes remained the same...
meaning its as good as using the old DS-160.......which I feel he can't use more than once......
please what should he do......there is no mistake in his information provided....but only the barcode and date of completion remained the same as that of last year..

please help.....he has got only few days to his appointment...
thanks

Your concerns are noted. A little intranet scouting quickly revealed that actually, the majority of these cases are issuances, not refusals. Please keep in mind that you are more likely to hear from unhappy applicants than from people who sailed through the process with no problem....

~ scam scam scam ~

This is definitely a scam. DV notifications are not sent by "support@kcc-program.com."

In fact, I just entered my own last name and a made-up confirmation number into the website their link leads to, and it appears that I have won the Diversity Visa lottery. smiley

You can check to see if your actual entry was selected at the official Diversity Visa website: https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ . You are quite right not to trust e-mails like this one.

Thank you so much for your prompt response. I knew it was suspicious when I saw a different confirmation number.

Thanks once more. smiley

Hi VO i hope you can answer my question genuinely. I am a senior officer in a bank and i and my wife intend to apply for a visiting Visa before the year runs out on a virgin passports.

I have never travelled out of Nigeria. I have a family of four and live in my own house. Is it true that i will be denied a visa because its a virgin passport? What are my chances that i wont be denied.

When applying what are the necessary documents that i must come along with? Will be glad if you can provide more information.

Regards.

Hi Officer, am a DV lottery beneficiary and from look of things here in the US, i see DV program as the surest or best way to come in to US legally and the easiest part to citizenship.
Will Nigeria ever benefit from DV program in again? Some one told me its rotation and i want to know if Nigeria would ever be considered in future DV programs?

VisaOfficer:
Good morning, everyone! It looks like our previous thread was a casualty of the recent data loss, so I'm starting a new thread here. Nairaland, I missed you and am glad you're back!

I am a U.S. Foreign Service Officer working at the U.S. Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria, primarily handling Immigrant Visas and Diversity Visas (IVs and DVs). The purpose of this thread is to provide a forum for your questions about these types of visas. My colleagues and I will make every effort to answer all questions within two business days.

Please note that we cannot answer questions about specific cases, except as based on the information provided here in this discussion thread. Any responses in this forum are not to be taken as legally binding, as they will be based only on what you tell us in your questions, not on the information in any actual case. While we will attempt to explain U.S. immigration policies, any opinions expressed are the personal views of the writer, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Government.

We may not be able to respond to every post in this thread, and we will not answer abusive posts. Also, please don't send me private messages -- I don't even read them. If you need personal attention, please send an e-mail to LagosIV@state.gov.

There is a separate thread for Non-Immigrant Visa Questions, also handled by U.S. Foreign Service Officers serving in Nigeria, at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening . Please use this thread right here solely for questions about Immigrant Visas and Diversity Visas.

All the best,
VisaOfficer
sir why are Nigerians no more eligible to apply for the united states DV-Lottery Visa? is there any hope of some sought for people like me, who do wish to migrate to the states on this basis?
