ElekeNtioba: Helloooo, Biafra was supported by foreign powers like France, Brazil and others. So you should know Ojukwu did not fight it alone. It was because US and UK supported Nigeria and told France to back out that was why they reduced their support. Having said all that, it was a war How can you blame Gowon for fighting a war Ojukwu declared? say something about that. Gowon's responsibility was to keep Nigeria united. It is the same will all leaders. France and others backed off when they realized Ojukwu had no bargaining chip. They realized his claim to oil was fraudulent as the oil belonged to other people, not the Igbo. |

basbone: You are a disgrace! Will you never grow old? Don't you know that oldage is a blessing? Gowon had every right to be proud of what he did for Nigeria. He is a Nigerian hero who made sure that Nigeria remained one. Unlike Gowon, your traitor ojukwu led his people to war but abandoned them and ran away to Ivory Coast. Gowon saw to the rehabilitation of ibos and made it possible for them to regain their properties all over Nigeria. Yet, ibos like you continue to deny being Nigerians but biafrans! Tell me, how can Nigerians allow a biafran to be president of Nigeria? Pipe dream! 2 Likes |

NovusHomo: Ojukwu left Biafra 2 days before the war ended on the advice his commanders that they could no longer hold out. What would have been the point of him staying to be slaughtered over a War that was already lost? If he had stayed back and was slaughtered, it would have been people like you who would have called him a fool for not escaping. 4 Likes 1 Share |

zendy: But he said he was going to get help. He did not say he was escaping. What of all the innocent Igbo soldiers he shot after they advised him only a few months after the start of the war that he was fighting a losing war? Hundreds of thousands of life would have been saved if he had shelved his ambition. 1 Like |

It is wrong to conclude that the civil war broke out following the failure of the Aburi Accord but was the direct result of a unilateral decision of independence for Eastern Nigeria. Liar! He failed to state that his breach of the Aburi Accord resulted into war! If you had stopped the wanton massacre of the Igbos in the north, Igbos wouldn't have thought of seceding in the first place! It's on record! He acknowledged that many people died of hunger and diseases during the period but maintained that the Federal Government ensured that starvation was not used as a weapon of war. Liar! You and your government with the help of Awolowo (who had evil hatred for Igbos) orchestrated the use of hunger as a weapon without caring about women and children! It's also on record! Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd), said on Wednesday that an Igbo president would help heal the civil war wounds He said that because he was in Igboland. What stopped him from saying it since, if he believed in it? Gowon, shove your “No Victor, No Vanquished" up your old stinky ab*oki as*s, and may you die a painful death! 1 Like |

izzieman: Doesn't matter if he said he was going to visit the 'cookie monster', the important thing is that he would have been wasted away for nothing if he had stayed back. To the best of my knowledge, and I have read a lot books about Biafra, I don't recall Ojukwu ever ordering the execution any body. Least of all, the same Biafran Soldiers fighting for him. If you want to accuse anyone about people that died in the war, blame Gowon. He was the one brought war to the peaceful East and Ojukwu had the moral duty to fight to protect his people. 1 Like |

I am yoruba and i know that their won't be another yoruba President without an Igbo Presudent taking his right turn at the Presidency. The North trust the Igbos than they trust our th.ief.nubus. Of course when the presidency comes down south again, our greedy selfish yoruba leaders like thie.fnubu will ask for it but the recent happenings(Oodua Apc vs Arewa Apc) has shown that the north won't let the SW have it before the South East does. It is the SE turn after Buhari. We know that the SE+SS +MB+North=Igbo presidency. SE and SS will NEVER VOTE A yoruba CANDIDATE AGAIN. 2 Likes |
