mbeenox: It doesn't count for job however, it gives you the satisfaction you desire that you worked hard and you achieved. The feeling when you walk across the podium when you are called and look back to all you went through to achieve it is the reason you have to work hard to achieve good success. |

Richmond996:TSI is for those who do not have up to 12 college credit hrs. Talk to an academic adviser in UH if you have any credit hrs from a college. If you don't, you can not escape TSI |

badoli: Why do you want to go for another undergraduate when you can actually consider graduate studies? Quite a number of schools don't discriminate against HND. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 7 by GboyegaD(m): 5:24am On Jul 11, 2015 |
badoli: Not necessary however, it gives you a leverage with some VOs as they see it from the perspective that you are indeed going to their country to study. More so, if you want to get funding from the department, they require some standardized test in comparing you with other applicants. 1 Like |

tipssy1: Not necessarily true. It all depends on how you explain the relationship, the reason why the person is sponsoring you, and your confidence. It is better you are denied and have an attempt to try again than get a life ban. |

Hello everyone. In few weeks, I will be traveling to the U.S. Can you guys tell me what to expect on the flight and at both airports? (DUBAI TO HOUSTON). Which documents should I take with me? I'm flying with emirates airlines. This means that I'll have a layover in Dubai. Any advice for me regarding that? Any miscellaneous advice for me? Thanks! |

angel34real:first thing . getting to dubai u would told go thru custom for check of ur carry on . no doc needed when. u just land dubai. connecting to your flight to Huston. that's where u would be asked to show your i20 . if ur flight is uprated by Americans then that would be your point of entry. but most Emirates flight to Yankee is just the normal ptocedure. don't be scared. |

sammynwaGod:Lol, there's nothing like "oyinbo food". It's only the mentality. "Just do in Rome as the Romans do". Even white people love our food. They eat amala, garri, egusi soup, etc. |

Centrix: You say people don't write test because of costs? Someone that can't afford 40K for GRE will afford 6m for tuition fees right? Because he sure won't get any funding without taking standardized tests. I see your logic right there. 2 Likes |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 7 by bbdd: 8:58am On Jul 11, 2015 |
Centrix: This is a bold faced lie. I know of MFA courses and courses in critical writing and literature where your creative piece and portfolio will speak for you if you're going to be funded. You think these people have funds to dash out. They'll take your transcript from a third world University hook line and sinker without validating it with a general test which is a leveller for everyone in the world? Which is GRE, TOEFL, GMAT etc and still give you funding? Besides those avoiding standardized tests are afraid. That means they aren't even the academically excellent ones with good grades. You can tell. Even after all these they conduct interviews for PhD applicants who are going to be funded to test their spoken English and composure. Some people talk to professors directly to work In their labs sending countless emails and soliciting for spaces and assistantships. You're not talking to novices. In this Era of budget cuts, schools are reserving funds for the best of the best and those who are ready to show excellence. People write GRE three times you know so as to get a high score. On a final note There is no advantage in not writing standardized test. I will still say it. Only a lazy student will choose not to write one. P. S. If you still wish to advice lazy applicants not to take standardized tests, you can create a thread titled " how to get funding without standardized tests. This is real! Tried and tested " I'm sure many people will rush to the red herring. After all many agents still dey hammer on top lazy applicants. 1 Like |
