MAIDUGURI, Nigeria: An explosion was heard in Nigeria's northeastern city of Maiduguri early on Saturday, a Reuters witness and security sources said.

The security sources could not immediately confirm the location or the nature of the blast.

The city, the birthplace of Islamist militant group Boko Haram, is frequently hit by bomb attacks.

There used to be a time when people would be in utter shock upon reading stories about bomb blasts in Nigeria. This madness has happened way too often and way too long that we have become insensitive to it. Even Major news outlets like CNN, BBC & co hardly report the carnage anymore unless when way too many lives are lost. Lord help us, we are slowly becoming like the Middle East.

I expect the security official to substantiate the alleged bomb blast by going to the place where the bomb might have sounded to really determine if it was actually a bomb blast!!!

it's no longer news that buhari is sympathising with this dreaded Islamic terror group, how many lives should will lose before buhari will be moved to order a military action against boko haram. buhari has a stone heart for Nigerians.
