Your 50 soldiers did not do the magic, and is for the people that are asking for their right they will remove from map of Nigeria. hansad: With all this talk....it still does not change the fact that oil price fell from $123 at the beginning of July 2014 to $65 now per barrel. Think about it. This has nothing to do with Buhari (who never said he would cancel the amnesty programme BTW)...and everything to do with the fall in oil prices. Even if GEJ was in charge now...the same story would happen. I don't know why you Nigerians.....Northerners and Southerners .....cannot work for money. You expect to be fed by govt 24/7....on an economy that is dependent from the sale of a product whose price can just fall like a rotten branch from a tree. And when you do not get what you want....na war be that. In my opinion.....we should all start preparing for austerity.Unless a miracle happens and oil price goes back to $130 per barrel...we can no longer afford amnesty, pilgrimage, rich fat senate, subsidized school fees, low light bills, etc. Indeed,we may even have to start laying off lots of government workers...because we no longer have the money. Your lazy state governors refuse to industrialize their states. Your FG spends money on jamboree projects. And corruption is everywhere. Look...it isn't just militants....every Nigerian from Sokoto to Bonny has to accept the fact that the era of free money is over. We are back to the good old days of the 1980's...when Mr SAP and the IMF were busy wandering allover our land. Already price of imported goods has increased. It is either we accept the reality and make adjustments....or we live in the imaginary land of imaginary riches that we do not have. And calling me a almajiri...which I am by the way as almajiri means student...and I am an eternal student as a doctor.....does not change the fact.Infact...if APC does not accept the new reality...then we may have to look for a more realistic govt. Nigeria is bigger than anybody's pocket. 1 Like 1 Share |

haywire1:For the roughly fifty years since Nigeria declared independence from British colonial rule, oil has been produced in Nigeria. Throughout this period, corporate politics has intersected with successive dictatorships . Under these dictatorships the Nigerian government has signed laws that appropriated oil resources and placed these under the control of multinational oil companies, such as Chevron Corporation and most notoriously, Royal Dutch Shell. From the point of view of MEND, and its supporters, the people of the Niger Delta have suffered an unprecedented degradation of their environment due to unchecked pollution produced by the oil industry. As a result of this policy of dispossessing people from their lands in favor of foreign oil interests, within a single generation, many now have no ability to fish or farm . People living in the Niger Delta have found themselves in a situation where their government and the international oil companies own all the oil under their feet, the revenues of which are rarely seen by the people who are suffering from the consequences of it. Until the government pass the PIB (petroleum industry bill ) Until the government tackles exploitation Until the government tackle oil spillage AMNESTY IS THEIR RIGHT. THE LIQUID BLACK GOLD IS FROM THEIR LAND. IMAGINE BUHARI PLANNING AMNESTY FOR BOKOHARAM WITH NIGER DELTA RESOURCES... SMH |

fejicruz:Bro, i school in warri.... i know what it's like to live in niger delta. Those people deserved more than what the government is given them. All alot of guys here have been vomiting trash... niger delta have been feeding the nation for God knows how long on their own detriment. There, food stuff are very expensive, The can't drink water from the well. They are suffering and while in your own region, you can all do that and still take more from the money gotten from oil. Isn't that cheating at the highest oder? If you believe they don't deserved any special treatment, why not let them be on their own. I bet you, hunger will kill you and your generation within few years. |

destinysaid: If Igbos have not been able to get Biafra through both fight and diplomatic means, guess how the SS - a mixture of tribes - can get Nigerdelta Republic from Nigeria. Important living on earth is that one lives well, happy and proud of one's country. Have you heard of Liechtenstein, Grenada, Malta, Tuvalu - these are countries some less than 100000 population. People in them live well, happy and proud of their country. Any Igbo asking SS to join the struggle for Biafra including the SS believes that if the SS and SE team up and get Biafra first, then Nigerdelta Republic or other Republics can follow from the SS. |

amjoseph19: Look...as a South Southerner myself....I agree with you 100%....Niger Delta deserves special treatment. But....let's be realistic. Oil prices have dropped from $123 to $65 in less than a year. And right now....we no longer have the money. Even countries that used to buy oil are now producing oil. And we still have debts to service...and we are importing. That is a large chunk of the money gone. And we still have to keep the country running. Look....Niger Delta has suffered. But the governors of that region...what have they been doing. With the exception of Donald Duke and Akpabio....how many of them have seriously made their state innovative, job producers? All this training we are sending young people outside...could have been done in Nigeria if we had invested in technical and vocational education. But I digress. The truth is...oil dependent countries are not rich countries. Countries that have money produce goods for export...and export more than they import. Is the Niger Delta productive? How many oil related industries are there in the Delta? How many industries are there that can manufacture componets for oil drilling, even cleaning up the mess? Get your governors to work and develop innovative economies for you. That is the only solution...because the oil money is not enough. Also stop tolerating corruption. Many of you were defending Alams....when the money he stole was your money. How can you complain of Hausas stealing your money...and when someone joins them Hausas to steal the money...from your area ...it is OK? All of you Nigerians....development occurs when you use education to solve problems. Not when you get your share of oil money. Simples. 1 Like |

bushdoc9919: Tell PMB today to return fiscal federalism to Nigeria; that's when I know you are serious. That's the only way all parts of Nigeria can develop in peace and harmony. The present and increasing type of unitary govt system where the chicken that lay the golden eggs are starved to feed the barren chicken is a huge fraud. |

hansad: The problem is...we do not have enough money to even do fiscal federalism.... In my opinion....Nigerians need to stop behaving as if Govt is some giant mother bird...and they are its chicks. At the moment...we do not have enough money...so let us use our hands and develop industrial, diversified economies at the state level. The reason why i am not fond of fiscal federalism is because it is just basically another means of perpetuating the share the money economy we have been practicing since independence. Money which won't be used for development....but for over importation. We should grow up as a nation.Strong nations do not rely on sale of resources. Strong nations rely on suing brain power to solve their problems. Like what we face in the Delta. How many industries have been developed around ideas that can deal with the pollution problems in the delta? None. Instead...we ask for, get money and the problem remains. (And btw.....my message is for all Nigerians...not just Deltan). 1 Like 1 Share |

destinysaid: The right to secession is included in new Biafra charter, apart from having resource control and fiscal federalism also included. Igbo has never in history fought with any group in today's SS, so Igbo can never fight any seceding group in Biafra. Nearly all parts of today's SE and SS have oil and gas resources, no group shall envy the other; so dare not compare today's SS and SE with South Sudan. Instead, see that all the new countries from the former Soviet Union and old Yugoslavia are prospering. |

bushdoc9919:with all due respect, you have succeeded in typing bullshit. As far as oil is one of the main source of income in this country, the FG should continue to pay dividends to the niger delta region. How can you tag money given to the niger deltans as a luxurious one. Do you know how those people are suffering just because they are feeding the nation? Since you want them to produce for themselves, let all states generate their own income and make use of it including its natural resources. |

amjoseph19: If you disagree with me...you do not have to insult me. As far as oil is one of the main source of income in this country, the FG should continue to pay dividends to the niger delta region. So....Govt should always take care of you? Hmm....just like the Hausas.... Development does not mean free money all the time...it means using that money to develop ideas and solutions to your problems. What I have suggested can make far more money for you than sharing oil money. Recall the parable of the talents. Since you want them to produce for themselves, let all states generate their own income and make use of it including its natural resources. Agreed....but let us get rid of the idea that selling raw materials will bring prosperity. Because when prices drop...you will heavily be in debt. Niger Delta,Hausa Land....etc....industrialize o. Because when the whites decide that they do not need your raw materials anymore...you will be broke. 1 Like 1 Share |
