1. The North desperately wanted power back to their base and having realised such feat could not be effected through PDP (with the party sticking with a Southerner, who was the sitting president), they decided to pitch tent with the then opposition as a willing platform.
2. If the PDP had fielded a northern candidate in the last election, no degree of alliance, chorus of change or APC grandstanding would have led to the opposition's victory.
3. Even sitting northern PDP governors in solidarity with the desire for a power shift, subtly worked against their own party. They supported PDP during the day but worked for APC during the night.
In conclusion, no one should be flabbergasted with happenings in the APC nowadays, there's nowhere in the world where an assembly of dissidents and angry people last long.
